Just pay your entry fee like normal, and I'll compensate you afterwards (I don't want the pot to get messed up). Of course, this is the case provided that your stuff gets the job done.

Umm..... I have to give you a big fat NO. Although this IS in the first post [sigh] the only time you can switch your character is between crew battles, i.e. SAK vs Houston I use Gannon, but in the next round I use Peach against Austin.

In crews you should be allowed to counter pick. You don't start out with a certain character but the character you use to counter pick with you cannot change. I'm pretty sure thats how crew matches are but I'm not 100% positive....ask Darkness of Heart since he knows more about competitive crews than all of us.

I find it kinda dumb that you have to say what character you will be before the crew match starts.

Dude...I still totally have that t-shirt DoH [trugamerz] lol...it's gonna be good to see all of you guys again for sure. I can't wait for this one. I'm off work and on leave so Definately count me and the FL guys in for this one. I can't wait to woop that ***. :p <3 Texas.

..and you can switch characters only if your opponent wants to c-pick a stage I thought?

The way the Kish crew system (i.e. the one used at FC) works is that when a new player enters he may choose any stage from randoms or counterpicks, but if he does, the remaining player from the previous round may change characters. He can also choose random and force the remaining player to stay with the character they played in the previous round.

Like for instance I played Sheik in crews, and every time they countered me with a Fox who went random so I couldn't change characters to someone that does better against Fox.

Also I think only FD, PS, and DL64 were on random but I'm not positive about that.

That's how they did it at FC6 at least, DoH can tell you if it changed at FCD.

Personally I never understood why you couldn't do full advanced slob picks in crews like you can in tournament...

I notice the first post doesn't mention how stages are chosen in crews, that's kind of an important detail lol.

There is a huge multitude of ways to do crews. The Kishes have their way. But this the way that SOS and I have decided it.

My opinion?

The Japanese can get by with one character, why can't everyone else? Besides, it will promote a balanced team, not just one that can change for anything. The only counter picking you will be doing is sending in the right player.

EDIT: Drew, you're right about the stage thing. I need to talk that out with SOS. Other than that, all the other rules are staying the same. Looks like it was MLG crying first, and now crews.

ok - well I don't think I'm going to be there Sunday as i'm probably not going to make to the finals and since I live in Austin I'm not going to want to get a hotel room or stay over night or anything - we'll talk about it when the day comes, but the Pinnacle can record VERY high quaility. You will need several gigabytes of storage if you want to record in DVD quality - you will need a large USB drive. I can record lower quality but whats the point? It is about 100MB lower quality for 5-6 minute match and 100-150MB per minute in high quality mpg files. Trust me - my stuff can do the job, I've been using it for a while now.

"The way they were played at FC3/6 was you write down a starter first and then all the members of your crew on paper and designate them a character, and they have to enter using that character. The first match is random out of FD/PS/DL, but after that you can counterpick; if you choose to counterpick your opponent can change their character, if not you can just go random. However you always have to start with the character written down."

- Darkness of Heart

so we start with a character then counter picking is allowed.

crews

dl 64 fd and ps r the only levels on random 4 crews. but if a player coming in picks a level the opponent can change characters. as 4 counter picking characters thats mosquitos choice. either way is fine by me. psp typing is really hard.

Crews at FCD went like this and it was really easy:

We wrote down who was on our team and who our starter player was. The first person on the list had to go first but the others were chosen on the spot. For example if I had DoH in my crew and he was first on the list and I was second he would have to play first against the crew we were facing but I wouldn't have to play second. We would decide based on the people who we had left who would go next.

Also, everyone has to use the character they wrote down at the beginning. If you beat someone, and the opposing team counterpicks a stage then you are allowed to change characters.

So yeah >_>....I just noticed that other people said this as well but I thought I would confirm it.

Edit:

Yay! Lots of RCMM ^_^!!!

FD is a random stage for crews. the way it works (usually)

Is you random FD, PS, and DL64...split stocks EVENLY between teams...40 for a 10 man team and 20 for a 5 man team.

Each team has to put the name of all contestants on a sheet of paper with their respective characters next to them. Each person is only allowed to use the character next to their name. each crew must also pick who goes first from each crew blindly...IE..you write a number 1 next to the person you want going first for each crew. You do this all BEFORE showing the other crew your list.

From then on. crews are allowed to pick the next contestant in any order they wish. However, the entering player may choose a counterpick level. if this is done. he keeps his character, and the defending player is allowed to switch.

The only thing is that this thread does not list what levels are allowed to be used as counterpicks in crews.

ps. James and Jeff, I'll be in town all next week. So I'd like to smash, you too drew if you grab some time.

Edit: wtb g/w stage. shield-bucket/wrench combo.
