I lead with Hippowdon, who does an adequate job, but i'm just gonna switch to a Trickscarfer to really abuse the cheap AI. Oh yeah, my Hippowdon died because it got frozen by Ice Fang twice in a row, back to back.

Frozen twice in a row and Horn Drilled twice in a row in one game.

That's one of the reasons I can't really take Pokemon as seriously as I would like. Its balancing act makes it like rock paper scissors in slow motion - You're always changing what you're using in reaction to what the other person does - but then the other person randomly pulls out a knife and cuts off your hand with a crit or random status effect.

RNG ftw.

Pretty much the most accurate description of Pokemon ever. Some guy on Smogon has 2366 wins in a row, btw.

And I bet somebody has 0 wins. Somebody has to tbe the OTHER extreme outlier.

Seriously, all it takes is one "Wait what my 99% accuracy attack missed and I got killed by an an attack that had 1% to hit and 1% to crit" moment to blow that record away.

Yeah, the record setters over there have seem to come to terms with the tower ending your streak, when it's decides that you've had enough.

On the subject of Pokemon, can people think of a good lead to counter in doubles against Kyogre + Metagross? VGC rules so 2 ubers are allowed.

Swampert + Zapdos maybe.

STAB Earthquake on your two Pokemon, Zapdos is immune to it + STAB Thunder on Kyogre.

I thought the ruleset was awful after coming from last year (which was the same minus the 2 ubers allowed), but it's actually fine. I've been practicing for a good month or so already and there really aren't any overly broken techniques and such. Adding the 2 ubers actually makes the strategy A LOT harder since it's making more Pokemon viable, and plenty of OUs, UUs, and even in some rare cases - NUs are useful.

Zapdos Swampert doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll try that soon. Right now I'm gonna try a team that leads with Rayquaza and Snorlax.

The only thing that really irks me is item clause. It should be changed to can't use two of the same choice item imo.
