an all character crew battle would be everyone in your crew plays falco, or luigi, etc.

For example I play samus and falco. So i would get together with hugs for samus crew or pc chris for falco crew.

zjin- 2v1 against bombsoldier? LOL i think its more interesting if bombsoldier went 1v1 on either you or milktea. Against you it would be slaughter so i would enjoy watching that and against milk tea it would be slaughter, but then boy friend pc chris is going to grind his teeth and then want revenge =).

As for the t shirts if you cut it in half you would walk around wearing nothing but half a shirt with your nipples showing. If you are fat i dont want that going around at the venue. As for milk tea she would walk around with her undergarments showing, so your a perv for thinking about that >=).

When you think about it, people are paying 75 dollars. and if the character crew battle happens and only the "elite" 4 or 5 of a character are allowed to participate then what about all the other people?

you also have to think about the fact that there will be 100 fox and falcos....and like 3 pichus.

well if people want to form a fox crew, peach, etc we cannot stop them. No matter what crews are always going to be unfair. For the average smasher who attends tournaments who doesnt have a crew he will have to join with other crews. Those who are friends will always team with either their friends or form the best crew. There is no answer to making crews fair, unless u ban top tier characters, then all the players will go link or luigi.

then again it is fair because smash is solely based on skill off the player. Any character in smash can be good, even bowser. Ask gimpyfish =).

Besides i prefered regular crews from the start. This doesnt upset me much that people prefer regular crews over character crew battles.

I love the idea of crew battles. But I hate how it gets morphed into all the best people just playing with each other. A rule should be enforced where the players have to be from your region at minimum. My "crew" for instance contains many of the top ranked new england smashers and we actually play with each other all the time and live like 15 minutes away from one another. But we couldnt compete against a crew containing multiple pros from various different regions.

another thing to think about is how the character crew battles would be grouped? i mean.. would it be fair if the pichu crew got matched up with the marth crew first round? kinda screws them over...

you could group crews by tier list... all the bowser and pichu crews battle it out and then the winner of that tier goes on to the finals against mid tier winners, high tier winner, etc.


or you could just not deal with the hassle at all and just grab your real crew and battle it out >.>

i have no problem with groups of people who play together and all being exceptionaly talented compeeting

but i think you would be just detracting from the good compeditive nature of the crews

plus some crews are realy excited to compete (my group of friends are trying to all get down to play!!)

Okay, I'm going to repost what I put in the housing thread since there haven't been any replies in nearly twenty-four hours:

I'm going to make reservations for a room very soon... Probably Saturday or Sunday evening, depending on my work schedule. If anyone is interested in sharing costs for this, please contact me via PM soon.

In case no one's been paying attention, the tournament will only provide housing for the actual days of the event, so that means anyone coming in Thursday is probably screwed if they don't make some kind of plans for that night until the tourney.

With that being said, will OC3 staff be providing transportation to the venue? Looks like we'll only be needing the room Thursday night, and can sleep over in the venue for the duration of the tournament itself, so we would only need help on Friday morning. Would this be possible?

One more thing, Team Hawaii, where are y'all staying at? I'd like to get some matches in with you guys if you're renting something close to the venue. Just hit me up with a PM or something...

the question is how late night? You do know we oc3 staff members arent machines. We do need our sleep to run the tournament and do pick ups the following days. We are willing to pick you up and drop you off at a motel / hotel though.

Plus if u fly in earlier its up to you to get your own housing. So fend for yourself is the best option.


Po pimpus - we will offer you rides from your motel to the venue if you select one of the motels nearby the venue. It is easier this way so nobody gets stuck in traffic and we can drop and pick you up easier. If you choose some really far hotel you should get your own ride to the venue. Also please pm arash, ken, rickety, or any staff what hotel / motel u would be staying at and when do you expect to arrive. Who is going to be there, and how long do you expect to stay there. Motel information/ names/and who would be great information for us. We are also willing to pick you up from the airport if you registered your flight info.

As for everyone else i know oc3 is exciting etc, but please refrain from posting stuff like i hope the videos will be out online. I am trying to skim through these pages helping people and its very difficult to answer everyones question at once.

Oc3 will have recorded matches on dvd for sale. Ive explain this many time. During the tournament we will try to release on you tube crowd footage.
Atlus since caotic is not going, Helens( aka my sister) will be recording footage, she will give you the footage afterwards if you wanted to help. You can edit it and post it on you tube for updates.

a 2v1 against bombsoldier would be cool to see, but at the same time bombsoldier will be like wtf? why is it 2v1, i want a 1v1 so i can ****.

As for crew battles. I know youll be upset because the best players always team up. But this is fact. We cannot enforce any rule that says u dont belong to any crew. AT oc2 the east coast recruited hugs temporarily. There were also many other crews that were not official crews because people went and a lot of their friends didnt. We cannot just let these guys sit there and not play so we form crews out of them meaning they arent official.

So yes crews are crews. the rules are simple get any 4 to 5 player you want, they can be really good or just plain ****ty, if you win with your crew great. If you fight some gay top notch pro elite crew its just how life rolls. Maybe you and the people you team up with should also be good. Smash has been released for about 5 years i think, by this time there are no new secrets, just skilled players and experienced ones. You are entering a competition and so are many others that are here to win. So practice up and be ready. NO JOHNs!!!!

Yes, the best players tend to crew together, but thats what happens when people want to win: they do whatever gives them the best chance at winning. If that's a problem, then improve your game and at least put up a decent fight.

Now for brawl however in the first couple of tournaments you can all those winners pros, because they are setting the foundation for competitive smash, but when the game gets old, pros dont exist anymore. It is just experience.
