So is anyone who plays as marth an actual fire emblem fan? The whole reason I fell in love with marth was because I'm a FE fanatic. I'm actually waiting on a translation team to finish making fe12 which is a continuation of marth's story in Shadow dragon. For those who don't follow the Japanese closely which you should they sneaky (ninja's after all) The game features a new feature to fire emblem games. Create-a-hero! The main character besides marth is a custom character you create. Hair eyes, class the whole nine. Totally awesome!

Anyway the translation team should be done sometime this year or early next (they slow!) Hopefully they will be done before the next ssb is released to give us an idea of what to expect from the next gen of marths. Secondly I hope to see more FE characters thrown into the mix Like good ole Lyndis from the gba. (she's the assist trophy) Sorry if I'm over explaining I'm new here and I don't want to assume everyone just knows wtf I'm talking about lol.

I played one a while ago, it was cool but it frustrated me to have 6-hour plays, then lose a character and restart it.

Yep. From what I've seen, a lot of Ike mains are major FE fans but only a few Marth mains are. It's interesting. Maybe it's because Marth's game isn't as good xD

But yeah, I'm waiting on the translation team to finish FE12 too. Then I can finally play 1,2, and 3 (someone recommended I play 12 before those, but I've already forgotten the reasoning why). I've played all the other ones besides those. Also, I really hope FE: Awakening gets localized. :D

Just got back from a big WC Canada tournament. Made 1st in doubles and made 2nd in singles only losing to Felix. I beat him in winners semi's 2-0, he beat me in 1st set bringing it to a second set and won 3-2. They were pretty hype matches so vids should be up this week.

there is the archive for the people that want to see the videos in lower quality + commentary. However it's missing one other match that was on the stream a bit earlier than that, which was IC's vs Marth, that will be uploaded though. Also I did a bunch of DK vs Marth friendlies with a DK player from EC as well which will also be uploaded.

and nova 9, vids are updated monthly on Canada brawl(though vids were messed up last monthly and uploaded to the channel Brningpyre by accident). You can also search youtube and go into the search function options to sort by upload date. If that doesn't work it might help to search for KillLock and not killock :DD

Also I kind of copped out with Snake for a few matches in GF's when I was suggested to try it out. Thinking back on it now I should of stuck with solo Marth xD

Good ****, KillLock. Not a lot of marth vs Diddy videos that are recent, so I look forward to watches your matches vs felix.

I'm actually uploading videos from a tournament that I was streaming in Socal, as well. You guys should critique my scrub marth.

random advice for diddy matchup that i gave zane the other day

if diddy does a poorly spaced GT forward on your shield up B oos will beat it every time. as for well spaced GTs it's a 50/50. this tactic works very well on BF though as you get to retreat to the platform and it forces diddy to respect you with a banana in his hand + conditions him to start just doing regular tosses (which are way easier to react to and less problematic)

if diddy is camping and he has 1 banana in his hand the idea is to trick him to jump or to trick him into throwing the banana. more specifically the idea here is to stage control until diddy throws his **** as a "get off me" tactic (he's free w/out a naner) or to do safe zoning tactics that pressure him into throwing (i.e trick him into thinking that you're punishable). even if the diddy kong knows the matchup there are a lot of situations where he needs to be guessing or making a read in order for him to hurt you with that naner. this is where matchup experience really comes in for you and the hardest thing to learn about this MU imo. easiest thing to look for is a grab - hell, even if the diddy recognizes that you're going for a grab and he baits it it's easy to recognize the situation + adjust doing normal marth stuff like not pre-emptively shielding or jumping

if he has 2 bananas i can't stress how important it is for you to camp and just to defend against chip damage + safe banana throws. try your best not to corner yourself!!!! that is SO important when it comes to fighting diddy with two bananas - a lot of marths end up on the ledge when there's 13049148 seconds left on the bananas, why would you do that? corner yourself as the timer on the banana is dwindling down.

marth's zoning potential + trap potential with a banana is incredible. like i think the only character that can really rival marth's potential with a banana, aside from another diddy, is a properly staled sheik and ICs. please learn how to use bananas. my favorite trick has to be getting diddy sandwiched between me and a banana and watching him panic as all of his options are destroyed. another great option is to "high-low" with the banana - mixup z-drops and fairs on his shield, with the z-drops and fairs varied so that sometimes you are able to catch the banana with a fair and sometimes you aren't able to catch with a fair (this kind of pressure is ridiculous even with experience...the best part is if the diddy isn't a high level buffering machine you can just drop the banana in front of them and dash grab as mixup)

I only wanted to share a realization I had this afternoon.
I really love ZSS' Nair and I have a secret crush for Marth's jab (yes, I actually use it. A lot), and I hope to live long enough to watch them clash and explode inside....
yeah, that would be awesome...

2 Hit move, very SDIable
True but if they do decide to SDI it and you don't nair, they'll downair and it pretty much leaves them vulnerable for a free upsmash. also nobody expects a nair after GR

also kinda hard to execute + doesn't offer you same advantages as fair
Fairly easy to execute imo, and does like 14-15 dammage since the first hit tippers

Unless they SDI away from you/up. Then you just miss/they buffer uair. Granted, that still may be usmash-able.

Also, fairly easy to execute to you means nothing.
