Castle Siege is fine vs any of them. Just not Olimar... Dear god don't go to that stage vs Olimar.

I would rather go to Lylat or Siege in most matchups.

Even SV before BF depending on the MU.

Just strike PS1 first and pick between the 2 they leave you.

Sonic you can guarantee SV, BF, or Lylat.

Pikachu it doesn't really matter where you go, personal pref.

Dedede I would aim for Lylat, but Siege isn't bad if you're willing to play gay. We body him on the first transition, can run the entire second, and the third is just a titlting FD. Disrupts his CGs and we can still play gay if we want.

Sonic is actually not bad to take to lylat.
When I play Espy (or any Sonic in general):

Strike: Yoshi's, FD, Castle Siege
Best Starters: Battlefield -> Lylat -> Smashville
Counterpick: Brinstar or the 3 best starters

Pikachu is good on every stage except for Brinstar. Pika and Sonic should ALWAYS be taken to brinstar if they didnt ban it against you.

**** DDD.

So take them to Battlefield, though that's probably what they'll all strike first.

Battlefield is a good stage for pikachu.
It's just better for Marth.
Battlefield is the best counterpick if they banned Brinstar.

Uhh Raziek, CS is a bad idea against Sonic.
The game is decided on who won the first transformation.
Sonic with a lead... camping on the second and third transformations... dear god.

Oli has that Delfino/CS/PS1 trifecta bs goin on.
Delfinos the worst.
After banning it, they always take me to CS/PS1.
I'm 1-0 against Oli's at CS but I got lucky. I've always felt it to be bad, but haven't experienced it enough.
Though I'm like 0-4 at PS1 :(

First transformation is firmly in our favour. One hit at any percent here is pushing Oli off stage. Left side or right side start are not 'fair' for whoever gets the right side, but Marth can reposition a little faster than Oli. Full hop dair is pretty safe, which is a nice bonus.

second part is camp central, Olimar has no chance of catching Marth, but I don't believe the opposite is completely true. Still dangerous due to hitbox extending though :|

Last part I would say Oli is dah gay if you ever get caught near a ledge.

Did you not read? I didn't say to take Sonic to CS.

Said you could go to BF, Lylat or SV, which is exactly what you recommended. :glare:

He can CG you anywhere from 9ish-25ish. Slants add like one more to it. It's worth the HUGE advantage you have on the second part of the stage.

I think it's more of a personal preference kind of thing, I mean yes we do have the advantage on the 2nd transformation since we can camp behind the statues and if we get a grab near either ends when they are at 0 could lead to a very early kill. I think it's just me not feeling comfortable taking pikas here.

I don't mind taking Pika to ANY stage ('cept maybe Rainbow) but Battlefield's the best. Yoshi's is cool too.

Yuck, I hate that stage so much. It's the only stage I don't enjoy playing on (well, other than Brinstar outside of a few MUs). It's just weird/always saves my opponents.

Federer lost to an American on clay for the first time since 1999... I'm saddened.

Marth has the tools to fight on slants- not that many characters can do that very well.

if youre going lylat as a cp remember the ship tilt changes attack angles.. really important when its a battle like marth f-air vs ddd b-air

okay vs ddd most important things are:
1) dont get grabbed
2) edgeguard him well
3) key in on every single jump he does. he has 4 air jumps and jumps 3 and 4 are pitiful.
4) trick him as much as you can! hard to explain this one but if you play the matchup in a basic form dedede is going to win

Ya... against Dedede I feel I have to do "weird" stuff to really get things going. Generally though my crux for vsing dedede with Marth is grabbing them. Generally I condition for dashing forward and rising tipper fair or whatever, most dedede's i've played all into that rhythm of "ill just move slightly forward and shield and woohoo free 20~40%".

Mikeneko got 3rd / 96 this weekend at a japanese tourney with Marth. He went all the way up to WF, then he lost to Nietono and Rain [who won the tourney].

Rain does a lot better in Japan compared to how he places in the US.

On another note, Nike and RoyR played at a houston tourney today. I'll let him share the details when he gets back.
