Anyone else going to watch second season of Ika Musume? Ep 1 is out. Seems to be the same old stuff but with a few new characters. I guess that's not a bad thing lol.

Also I'm not sure where people download their stuff from, but don't use KindaHorribleSubs for this one. They try to turn her 'geso' at the end of each sentence into an english pun. "I was just inking that", "That was squidding dumb", etc.

although I don't even know what people mean by "bad subs" these days, they all seem equally bad/good to me unless I am missing a prime point of badness.

Well to me its mostly nitpicky mistranslations and mistakes, as well as the inevitable loss of references/jokes/puns etc that sound bad/cant be translated properly to not be cringeworthy

Also subbers nowadays do really bad jobs of the asthetics of the subs, but thats just my own personal preferences. What matters most is the translations but much of the time they arent done well at all

sounds more like a linguistic problem than a translator problem tbh, dont hate the player hate the game etc.

either way, if everyone apparently knows enough japanese to nitpick the quality of the translation then I don't know why they don't just watch it raw (which is what you said you're gonna do so good **** mang). I mean that's what I'd be doing if endless streams of japanese didn't faze me.

but yeah I always wondered why seemingly everyone complains about translation quality, kinda hoped it wouldn't be that silly.
