I think the reason SpongeBob was such a hit with adults as well as kids was because, while other shows (on TV in general, not just animation or kids' TV) were trying to position their shallow comedy as genius thought-provoking wit, SpongeBob was a genuinely clever show that presented itself as dumb and asinine.
I really dislike it when fanmade Crash movesets/stages for Smash just slim the series down to the good games alone. A Crash moveset without taking from the stinkers is gonna be super boring.
I also don't like it when people use the Wumpa Bazooka in Crash Smash movesets. The Rivals mod did a good job with it as a side smash, but as a special move it would not fit any of Crash's potential playstyles well - it doesn't even fit his playstyle in its origin!
There are very few things I like about Toy Story 4, but one thing I did appreciate was that they subtly tried to patch up the infamous Buzz plothole by showing that freezing when humans are around is just a thing toys do by instinct.

Unfortunately, competitive NASB players won't be able to use "Back to the Lab Again" as that's a Cartoon Network song and therefore off-brand.
Hugh Neutron in NASB is like the opposite of Geno in Smash - one began as a meme request but people quickly caught on to the actual potential of the character's inclusion, while the other began as a serious request but slowly became outdated by major series changes to the point of support seeming ironic to outsiders.

If I was making Space Jam 2, I'd have it go like this:
After the first film, Looney Tune World is in harmony and now home to stars of all the cancelled cartoons - Looney Tunes, MGM, Hanna Barbera, Ruby Spears, WB TV Animation, Cartoon Network, WAG, pretty much every kid friendly animated IP under WB/Turner that isn't still making new episodes or movies (sans reboots) - this is with the exception of the DC Heroes, who hear of the Tunes' great game against the Monstars decades prior and propose a friendly game of hoops in their universe. To prove the sporting strength of the cartooniverse, Bugs Bunny gets LeBron James to coach all the tunes and toons, and choose the best 15 to shoot and score against the DCverse - basically, an ensemble sports training comedy with no actual villain and inter-personal conflicts as opposed to a proper threat. The movie would end with the big game, where slapstick clashes with superpowers and the stakes are low yet immense. I'm not sure if the Tune Squad or DC Heroes would win, but I think it'd be funny either way if The Joker popped up out of nowhere at the end as a "big surprise" and Bugs disposes of him in mere seconds.

I love how the Animaniacs' cameo in Space Jam 2 is clearly just their models from the PS2 game doing the same 2 animations on loop.
A lot of people say that of the 3 original Nicktoons, Ren & Stimpy were the odd one out on virtue of being edgier than the cutesy slice-of-life toons that acompanied it. I understand where they're coming from, but honestly I see it as Rugrats being the middle ground between Doug and Ren & Stimpy - a cute slice of life show with relatable kid protagonists like Doug, but one that like R&S wasn't afraid to delve into unsettling imagery or gross-out humour. Though those latter similarities did get neutered once the show got uncancelled, and it never went as extreme as R&S in the first place, so I can still see why people think of R&S as the odd one out.

I often see people bring up Sonic R as proof that "a Sonic footracer could never work!" - even though Sonic R, gameplay and mechanics wise, isn't a foot racer as much as a kart racer where everyone is animated running.
If I was making a Mario game, a multiplayer spin-off specifically, I'd only do it if Ninty gave me free range over characters from Mario's entire history (excluding characters owned by outside sources like Geno and Oogtar) - otherwise I'd just go to Activision or Sega and say "hey, you wanna put Crash/Sonic in this?"
I think I could work with mandates for a platformer though.
When I first heard this song I was surprised it came from a 1994 game. It sounds extremely early 2000s. Despite being a 7 second loop I think it'd work really well in Smash.

IMO there are only two Smash fighters who truly need revamps. Sonic and Min Min. Everyone else can be fixed up with some good old fashioned balancing. Game accuracy is a completely irrelevant factor to design and nowhere near a reason to revamp a fighter 100%.

I decided to create a roster of SSBU newcomers for an elaborate hypothetical scenario:
- Third parties have never been in Smash
- Ultimate has all existing 1P veterans newcomers and as many 1P newcomers as there are known 3Ps as of CP10 (15 + 2 echoes)
- All the third parties in SSBU and prior are DLC, while all DLC 1Ps are base game.
Generally, Iwas biasedtried to appeal to smaller fandoms, or even create new fandoms, while the real SSBU newcomers appealed to big fandoms - a few I'd likely opt to reveal with blog posts instead of CG trailers. both reasons are true Regular Waddle Dee and old Impa were partially chosen out ofspitesurprise factor only the crossed out text is true
