Watched a video on Mario Kart retro tracks and a comment basically said "they should've just remade all the 64 tracks in ds like how they remade all the snes tracks on gba"

And it makes me wonder

What if that WAS the tradition? Just remake a game's whole library in one go. Obviously the prefer the way its done in real life but it's an interesting thought

What track lineups would you pair with what game?

I'm thinking

Wii gets GCN, because those are just easy ports honestly.
7 gets Wii, because playing console tracks on the go would be a big appeal.
And 8 gets DS.

This does leave GBA & 3DS in the dust a bit though, hence why I prefer the real life method. DLC could break the rules and include a hodgepodge from all games though

When I was younger I used to REALLY dislike the competitive Smash community for really petty reasons (not using more stages, not using items, not using final smashes) and I've grown since then and understand their reasonings, even if I don't agree completely

IF Mario Kart Tour was still going
And IF Mario Kart Tour did crossover content
And IF they did an F-Zero tour

It would've been cool if, instead of porting a mk8 f-zero track to mobile (which is crazy talk)

They ported a SNES f-zero track and called it SNES Mute City or whatever they picked

And generally treated it like a snes/gba mk track remake, that sorta halfway point between a flat track and a modern one. Honestly I'd settle for Mario Circuit 3 levels of flatness maybe, the novelty of seeing a SNES F-Zero track in that style is enough alone for me.

They coulda added like, futuristic looking versions of the smk rainbow blocks too

I mightve said this before but I was really sick the day Kirby Fighters 2 was shadowdropped and I just binged a ton of videos of it for like two whole sick days, absorbed pretty much every little morsel of the game I could.

More Mario Kart World roster talk: I know one of the many controversies regarding it is that a lot of the characters lack arms and that breaks their immersion and all that

But

As someone who loves Mario enemies, I feel like all the iconic mainstays should get a chance to be playable, and for most of these strangely shaped armless characters, being in Kart is their only chance.

Say what you will, but it's way easier to suspend your disbelief for cheepcheep in a go-kart than it is for cheepcheep playing golf

Trying to recall old Mario Odyssey false rumors and predictions for nostalgia's sake. I feel like most people remember the Defino rumors, and that people thought his different hats would be powerups before captures were revealed, but there's a really silly one I remember from some prediction video back in the day

Basically, the guy behind the prediction misunderstood some treehouse commentary about how Steam Gardens was in a glass dome, and thought every world would be in a snow globe.

Mario Kart World's roster problem is that they seemingly decided to put an arbitrary limit on how many random npcs they're adding. If they added as many Stage Hazards/onlookers that could fit in a kart as possible and spun it as a main feature of the game like "Drive virtually anywhere, be virtually anyone!" people might be kinder to it.

It'd look less "they're doing this because of constraints" and more "they're doing this because of the creative vision"

Sometimes I look back at Smash 4 speculation and I get really stuck on how people thought of fire emblem before much was known about the game specifically. When Ike was revealed to be returning people were like "well I guess we won't be getting a new fire emblem character, the tradition has always been Marth and a new guy"

Yknow, the tradition that only lasted 2 games.

Anyways, there were also wayyyy more people who just assumed Ike was a clone of Marth. Like, even though Brawl was 6 years ago. Weird stuff.
