Lincoln Loud in NASB is kinda funny because I only chose to play him out of contrarianism - I have no attachment to his show and his defensive bait-and-punish/turtle playstyle is completely out of place with my stronger & more aggressive bruiser mains (Nigel; Helga; and Ren & Stimpy), but I saw people dissing Lincoln as "lame" and "for zoomers" pre-launch and knew I had to play him from there. Even though I'm terrible with him compared to the other 3 and would probably do better online by switching out his 4th wheel spot for CatDog or Reptar, I find him too fun to quit - his spacing based playstyle allows me to move around a lot, and movement in this game is utterly heavenly, like an ADHD platform fighting sugar rush.

Similarly to Pythra, I'm quite grateful for Min Min getting in Smash because of the punch to the gut she was - but her cautionary tale was less "don't get hyped for being advertised to" and moreso "source material accuracy and references aren't inherently good for moveset design", which is something I've seen a lot more people openly say after the SSBU DLC.

People praise Nintendo a lot for "not imitating their rivals" but honestly I think that's one of their biggest weaknesses. I want to see Nintendo have a go at their own Game Pass, produce remakes more often, make serious non-cardboard attempts at VR, so on.

I also think not always giving fans what they want, something often struck as a weakness of Nintendo, is one of their greatest strengths and attempting to go aganst it was why SSBU (DLC especially) turned out to be such a mess IMO.

Platform fighters should stop using token-and-cursor-based character select screens. It's a very small presentation gripe but it'd go a long way to make the genre seem like more than just "Smash copycats".

Before the whole NASB mainstream falloff, I had no clue just how important Final Smashes specifically are to modern Smash fans. Like, I understand being disappointed by a lack of items as a whole, but the Smash Ball - to me at least - was always just another item, and one of the least fun of the lot at that.

People complain about "90s bias" in NASB but honestly it probably has the most era-balanced roster of any Nicktoons crossover - except maybe Kart Racers 2 - especially if you consider 90s shows that aired most of their run into the 2000s like CatDog and Thornberrys as 2000s shows. You could say the original Nicktoons Racing also has a really good era balance for its time, but there weren't really many eras at the time.

Saying "dead game" is utterly nonsensical (more than usual) in the case of NASB - this isn't a team or battle royale game, it's a platform fighter focused on 1v1s, it doesn't take much work to find someone to play with on a Discord or forum and is arguably preferable to anonymous quick play even if it were active. It doesn't matter how many people are online at once as long as there's someone to play with.

I think the reason Poké Floats and Rainbow Cruise don't get the hate Pac-Land and Mushroomy Kingdom do - despite being way more chaotic - is because they were in Melee which had infinitely better movement than anything after even without wavedashing/dashdancing/etc. I imagine that Pac-Land with Melee physics would be extremely fun.

Icicle Mountain though? Yeah, that one's just a stinker. Same goes for Space Madness in NASB.

I like the idea of a future Smash starting you off with just all the Mario and/or Pokémon characters and stages and then you have to unlock entire series in batch - not sure how it'd work for single-character series though.

I honestly don't know why people think Multiversus will "kill NASB" - maybe to a casual audience who only care about "Smash but cartoons", but the competitive audience will see NASB as "fast/anime platform fighter" and Multiversus as "team platform fighter" - two extremely different niches.

I feel that if Crash got in Smash, he should probably have a decent amount of CTR-related spirits and music, and possibly even an item or move related to it, but I'm not 100% sure Nintendo would want to promote Mario Kart's biggest competitor.
