I asked just because I was curious (sorry if I was to nosy), apart from that. What really stired me up was the interesting points and awareness you showed on the thread animal extinctions, I learnt a few things from you mate. So yes, in my head I was thinking "This guy must know alot about Flora and Fauna". You even pointed out that you had a general idea on what's happening here in Australia concerning Wildlife preservations.

I don't mind you feeling like an old person. Heck I actually think thats more cool then strange.
I do. I actually try and learn all that I can by ear. So far, I picked out the main melodies of a couple mother songs (Like the Porky's theme) as well as the general guitar parts of a couple other songs.
I actually don't mind it as much as I used to. When I was still taking Piano lessons (as well as recorder and my percusion stuff at school), no one could hear me as I didn't like A) practicing the instruments and B) people hearing me play. The one exception is when I preformed for our church a couple christmas songs. But I don't mind people hearing me just randomly jam nowerdays. I'm musically talented (A lot more than video games, signature making, etc.), I just don't like to think that I am.
True. I did progress really quick (because of the former music instruction), but I also wasn't having a ton of fun with the material I was learning; baisic sight reeding over childhood clasics. I really couldn't see what was worse; the childrens music, my slight inability to read music and transfer directly to the instrument (as most of the time I was reading either chord charts or a more simple staff for guitarists), or the fact that we would spend days on it in pure misery.
It's kind of hard when you need some form of an amplifier in order to play it quiety. I have baisic headphones, but the headphones aren't a guerantee that I can hear it and others can't. Though I don't really mind people hearing songs that I've 100% mastered, when I start moving to less familiar teritory I stall if anyone even comes close to listening in.
I wish, man. My parents took it away long ago and likely threw it out (along with my imfamous 'chomp). Would if I could, though.
It's certainly fun to learn. I was in lessons for over year, but my parents took me out because I didn't practice enough (which consisted of me not wanting anyone to hear me).
In response to your thing on buci's thread, yeah I do. right now I'm learning guitar, though I do know quite a bit of piano and some drums. -
