Practice it. While reading tips about how to do it is good, we can't tell your fingers to do it. You actually have to practice it until you get the timing down. Once you do, it becomes second nature and you can work on another combo.

One match does not make Marth immediately superior to Ike. I have defeated many decent Marths with a decent Ike, but lost just as many matches. A good Marth should beat a good Ike, but it is not as definite as you are making it out to be.

I would keep the C-Stick as normal attacks. Olimar shines with his fast aerials and smashes, and the C-Stick adds a little more. The only reason I could thing of for changing is faster Whistle Armor, but thats 1 attack vs 7. I don't Fox Trot very much, if at all, so I can't help you there.
