    The winner of yesterday's vote, and the first character in season 3 of DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis, is Static of Static Shock fame!



    I don't think this result was shocking to anyone who checked the thread; he got roughly twice as many points as the second place person. (I've used that pun twice and I regret it both times haha)

    Today, we're nominating his moveset and costumes, along with voting on the moveset for the Ninja Turtles and voting on premiere costumes for Star-Lord and the Ninja Turtles.

    Here are the nominees for DC's people of colour round for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis.

    Admittedly, one character's winning by quite a bit at the moment, but it couldn't hurt to participate. We're also nominating premiere costumes for the second half of season 2. (Lois Lane, Star-Lord, Spawn, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

    We're kicking off season three of DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis by nominating people of colour from DC's comics! We're... a little lacking on that front when it comes to DC, to say the least.

    Ra's al Ghul might count, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

    As of now, only Static (of Static Shock fame) and Black Manta (Aquaman's arch-enemy) have been nominated, so there are still plenty of options.

    We've got season 3 roughly planned out for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis (we're ending it off with one extra character for both companies, so there will be ten characters total in the last season - four Marvel, four DC, and two guests), so today, we're voting on which themes we'll be using for the character rounds. We're voting on guest bosses between Shredder and Krang:



    On top of that, we're also coming up with movesets and stages for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles today.

    For DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis, we're nominating themes for the third and final DLC season today, along with nominating a boss from one of the guest series.

    While I figure we could keep going and going with this (there's no shortage of characters), three seasons with eight characters, four stages, and sixteen costumes each seems like a lot, realistically speaking, and we have to stop somewhere.

    We're moving on to guest characters for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis - last time, we added Scott Pilgrim from Scott Pilgrim and Mark Grayson/Invincible from Invincible, so there's a lot of untapped potential for this round! (as long as they're comic book characters and/or superhero characters, they're eligible)

    We're also nominating arcade mode rivals for Lois Lane and Star-Lord, and voting on costumes for Star-Lord.

    We'll be doing the next batch of guest characters in the next few days, and shortly after that, we'll move on to the third and final season of DLC!

    Haha we could probably keep going with three more seasons of DLC and have 100 characters total (there are certainly more than enough options on both sides - we've barely even touched the various Lantern Corps., and there are a ton of Avengers that we could include like Hawkeye/Clint Barton, the Vision, Ant-Man, Black Widow, She-Hulk, etc., on top of countless other characters like Blade, Namor, Black Manta, Hawkgirl, various X-Men, and so on), but I figure that we need to stop somewhere.

    (plus, 24 DLC characters, 12 stages, and 48 costumes seems like it would be a lot as it is)

    Today, for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis, we're nominating a cosmic Marvel character. Here's a list of cosmic events/comics that I found, in case that helps to inspire anyone; as of now, the only ones who qualify are Thanos, Rocket Raccoon (and Groot), and Captain Marvel. (and maybe Thor and Loki, if we're counting modern Thor as cosmic)

    Our newest character for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis is also one of our oldest characters, having been around since 1938. Predating even Batman, our next character on the roster is Lois Lane!



    She got in thanks to a really inventive moveset proposal by PinkFlare PinkFlare , and I'm glad she did. Much like Starro the Conqueror, Lois Lane (now there's a sentence fragment that I never thought I'd type) is a bit of an out-there pick, but one with a lot of history, and the out-there picks can allow for people to get really creative and keep the roster from feeling bland/safe/predictable. (this one mixed elements of Phoenix Wright's moveset in UMvC3, April O'Neil's moveset in recent TMNT/Nickelodeon games, and investigative journalism)

    Today for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis, we're nominating women from DC for the DLC roster. At the moment, we've got:

    As a result of the vote for Avengers villains, we've added Ultron to DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis!



    Considering that he's been nominated as far back as the second Marvel character job, this felt overdue, and it's great to see more Marvel villains being added to the line-up! (we have Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, and Loki, but other examples like Magneto and Venom haven't been considered fully villainous for a long time)

    A Flash villain definitely felt overdue, given how varied his rogues gallery is.

    We've added our Marvel Knights character for DC vs. Marvel: Infinity Crisis. It was a close one (a single vote could have completely changed the outcome, since seven of the eight characters could have possibly been in first or tied for it), but in the end, the winner was the Sentry, thanks to PinkFlare PinkFlare 's detailed/thorough write-up!



    Today, we're nominating a boss character for Marvel, and the moveset job for Poison Ivy is still open.

    Today, we're nominating characters who appeared in the Marvel Knights imprint (a "mature readers" imprint, though not to the extent of the MAX comics), which runs the gamut from the Inhumans to the Punisher to an Ant-Man and the Wasp Christmas special.

    We're also nominating movesets for Poison Ivy.

    We got a lot of nominations for this round; it's understandable, since it's Batman, but there were a lot that I didn't expect. (though I was hoping someone would nominate Bat-Mite, even if it was so I had an excuse to reference Peacemaker's description of him as "a two foot tall interdimensional imp who stans Batman." I can't believe that he's canon in the DCEU)

    The Riddler and Mister Freeze are other highlights that I didn't wind up voting for.

    With October coming up, I'm thinking about movies to watch for this month; I'm not much of a horror movie fan, but I find that I'm generally fine with older horror movies. (at least, when I'm watching them in the comfort of my own home)

    So far, my plans are...

    -Friday the 13th Part 2
    -Friday the 13th Part 3 (I'm interested to see the ones with human Jason)
    -Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (mostly because it seems so ridiculous - might just stop at 2 and 3, though)
    -Halloween 4 (I've seen 1, 2, and 3, along with the latest two)
    -Scream 2 (when it comes to that series, I've only ever watched the first Scream)
    -Scary Movie (technically not a scary movie, but I don't think I've ever seen it)

    I might also watch Halloween Ends, though I'm going to wait for reviews for that one; I liked Halloween (2018), though watching it in a theater had me on edge like nothing I'd ever seen, but Halloween Kills was okay. (I watched that at home after seeing how bad the reviews were)

    My problem with it was that Laurie was side-lined and stuck in a hospital bed for the whole movie, meaning that the conflict boiled down to Michael Myers (a remorseless killer) vs. an angry mob where most of them made the dumbest decisions possible, so there wasn't really anyone to root for. It had some good moments, but I was glad that I didn't see it in a theater. (I'm hoping Halloween Ends is more along the line of the 2018 one, though going by the speculation that I've seen based on the trailers, I'm not sure if it will be)

    Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer - I've seen Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, at least. By my understanding, Evil Dead 1 and the pseudo-remake are more straight-up horror, while I prefer the comedy side of the franchise.

    I know Ash vs. the Evil Dead is on Netflix, at least in Canada, so I can watch some episodes of that.
