Well, it's an extremely long story, so I'll just show you the PM I sent Youko.
Ok, Buzz is seriously killing our boards. He has become, whether he likes it or not, THE most hated mod on our boards. He closes every single thing in sight that comes even on the slightest tip of violating the rules. While character-specific threads I can understand, this mainly has to do with the topic called "The Link Boards Tier List."
Originally created by Wafflez, this thread was made for fun and was not meant to be taken seriously. Wafflez is a greatly loved member who is hilarious and unbiased in his opinions, and simply comprised a list of all Link mains, and then asked us as a community to rank ourselves by comparing each other with videos, tournament placings, and contributions to the boards. Again, FOR FUN.
It was a great thread (the most active thread on the boards while it was around) and actually benefited Link's metagame because so many people wanted to be improve and move up on the list (thus opening up discussions on how to improve). Wafflez himself had no say in where everyone goes, he only provided the initial list, which was then edited by the community as a whole. There were absolutely no complaints whatsoever about the thread in any way, shape, or form.
Soon enough, a new mod to us, Buzz, closed the thread. He said it violated a rule in which players may get offended and could cause conflict, which is against the rules. While this was a good reason from his viewpoint, he's never seen our boards. He just walked in, closed a thread on the boards of a community he knew nothing about, and walked out.
At this point, it's best that I mention a user named Aurashade. A while back, the Link boards were full of spam with no mods. Tons of threads like "how do i DAC?" or "New AT! DAC with bomb!" threads were flooding the boards. Aurashade, with (to put it lightly) very harsh posts, scared off these users and prevented/eliminated the spam. He saved our boards, and is today highly, highly respected in the Link community. His word is law to us.
What Buzz was afraid of was conflict, no? I can guarantee you, 100%, if conflict arose, Aurashade would have been able to abolish it, easily. His ways are more effective than simply closing a thread - a user will learn from a harsh post, not from their thread being closed.
Anyways, the Link boards moped and became rather inactive once the tier list was closed. Then soon enough, a user named Ray_Kalm, who is not well-liked by the community at all, stated he had permission from the mods to recreate the tier list. So he did, and initially, it worked. But then, what Buzz was afraid of happening the first time, happened.
Ray_Kalm is very arrogant, and his posts give off a vibe of "I'm better than you" so many players were iffy about whether he should be allowed to handle the list. Sure enough, as the community predicted, he moved himself up and moved down other players who didn't deserve to be moved down (Legan, for example, was moved below Izaw - while both prominent Link players, Legan is generally known as the better of the two).
Naturally, many complaints followed. This was what Buzz said may possibly happen. This is due to the fact that Ray_Kalm was given control to the tier list and modified it to his own biased opinion (and believe me, he's not a fair person at all - VERY biased). Most users soon after realized the thread handled much better when Wafflez ran it because he was unbiased, and was a much better liked user. Wafflez himself never really posts seriously, so a vibe of fun was given off the thread. Ray_Kalm, well, you'd have to pay him just to crack a smile, he's so serious.
As a result, requests that Ray_Kalm's thread be closed were actually made! The very thread we had all wanted back so dearly, we were now requesting it be closed! Clearly Wafflez had a better way of handling the thread, and Ray_Kalm did not, and so for those reasons, many requested the thread be given back to Wafflez.
This is our dilemma. We were all fine and happy until Buzz came and closed our most loved thread. Then a new, serious thread was created with permission, but it received complaints - Wafflez's thread never, not once received complaints.
