So I played GoldenYoshiKing the other day on his home turf (Wifi). After I beat him I tried giving him some advice. He responded with something along the lines of "HAHAHAHAHA bro ur yoshi is ugly bro. not skilled like my zudenkas and slice yoshi. Euro yoshis 4 lyf" Then he got mad at me because I wouldn't agree that playing Yoshi as agressively as he did is smart.

Generally playing aggro in Brawl is just asking to get bodied more than half of the time anyways.

Him Always commenting on videos how bad the Yoshi player is Despite winning, and only more *****ing if the Yoshi lost the match. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if he found my matches and already posted on them.

That's what I'm trying to get at though. A troll would just say that the Yoshi is terrible, even though he doesn't feel like it's true, just to start something. In GYK's case ,he actually believes in what he says (even though it's very wrong). He thinks any Yoshi, no matter how smart, is bad if he doesn't play super aggro.

Im not defending anything he does btw. >.> He irks me.

So, KiraFlax came over my apartment earlier this week, since we are pretty good friends, and we played Brawl for hours. While he definitely beat me more, there was a period to where I beat his Pit 3 games in a row with yoshi. It felt amazing, especially with his high-level of skill.

I guess that's why campy yoshis place higher than aggro ones.

I see it not as playing campy but as playing smart. He must be one of those players that think there is only one way to play a character in a game. I play aggressive but only because I like going in but I know it's not a safe, solid style. I also give props where they're due. This dude needs a reality check. I guess he can get away with playing mindlessly aggressive wherever he plays though.

The thing is most of Europe plays very aggro/flashy. Trying to play that way against an overly aggressive Yoshi doesn't really work out. Yoshi is just too fast for most characters.

I disagree. I feel like aggression can be a very successful playstyle, you just need to know how to apply it. It's generally more efficient to camp and poke at your enemy at neutral, and once you poke him, to blow up in his face.

So I guess it's situational, but the situations happen pretty often.
