Zigsta, Pixel/Dreamworks? Thats pretty sweet. What kindo of job will you get there?
Oops, forgot to respond to this!

I'll be working as an apprentice editor at DWA. At Pixar, I'll either be an assistant editor or some part of the story department.

The GaW player might be why it's kind of difficult. His name is Kaak, he's an insanely good GaW. It's not nice getting killed with good Di at 80%. There's so many things gaw has that hurt like mad, with proper mindgames this should be a hard match-up.

Reread my statement until it makes sense.

Currently the argument is:

Because SuSa is the last poster, he must have closed the thread.

Using that logic, there are quite a few threads that have been closed by PERMABANNED people....strange.

Ok so I've been thinking this for a while now but have been really lazy about asking it. Is it possible to successfully, with Squirtle, f-throw into forward hydro u-smash?

I don't think fthrow has enough hitstun to allow that.

Could be a possible followup at low %'s if your opponent DI's down and away and missing the tech?

Or am I overrating Squirtle's fthrow...

The only reason why I have to doubt this actually being possible is because by now someone would have done it and then Reflex would kick *** with it at some tournament leaving standing around with glistening eyes going "Ohhhh" and "Ahhhh!"

Rog, my PT beats Kaak's GaW, hell, my everything beats kaak's GaW.

GaW sucks. GaW can't approach for ****, just wait for the bair and let it hit your shield, after that's over run away and recharge your shield. Wait til he ****s up something and **** him. If you see the bair startup you can roll behind, you can bait GaW et cetera, the thing against GaW is that he needs to bait you to do something to win. GaW can't do **** against you on the ground, he's really ****-slow, but in the air he is a beast. To counter this, you need to get at his silly stuff. If you battle GaW, you need to position yourself properly. If GaW starts a bair early, crawl and shield later, he will probably start bairs later to get more hits in, at which point you can hit him before it comes out. Blablabla.
Or you just SDI the turtle and hit him, seriously.

I have always been quite the advocate of G&W being a less-than-mediocre character.

That being said, F-Throw -> forward hydroplane U-Smash can work, but the alternative is much more reasonable. You're really better off doing an up-angled F-Tilt at high percents into the hydroplaned U-Smash, since you get more frame advantage and "proper" DI makes the opponent go up at a better angle for it.

Still requires your opponent to airdodge into the ground (instead of double-jumping) or miss a tech, which isn't the greatest thing in the world, but I've done it to characters with bad aerial mobility, like Falco and Meta Knight.

Nope, there aren't a lot of Pokemon trainer, we're almost exctinct but I actually tried this some time ago, it doesn't work. It takes to long + there's some minimal distance squirtle has to travel. But, you could use the suprise element of UsmashShellfshift with an front throw at high percentages.

It's harsh, but every american Pt stands in Reflex's shadow.

Edit: Xonar... uu sooo guwdd! u bet Kaak wif efieting, that's why he places higher then you in every single tournament :) <3

I laughed so hard.

Planning to get more active in the offline department, time to stop being scared of meeting new people.

Any tips on making friends with the smash community that might blow over my head?

Be forward while you're there. Actively look for matches to join and make simple conversation with people as you would with any friend, really. Don't be offensive, angry, or arrogant with the way you talk to anyone.

Also, oftentimes, a group of players will go out to eat either after Doubles or after the entire tournament. Ask to join and enjoy the festivities.

This for sure.

I'll tell you a lot more in person when you come over tomorrow. :)

I was actually planning on making a blog along these lines called "Overcoming the Scrub Mentality," but blogs are down indefinitely.

considering without the DQ both of you lost to the only decent players that you faced, and placed the same. not to take away from your wins, but if youre going to post and say you beat a player thats better than you with "your everything" because you placed higher than him once is like, really insulting to yourself moreso than to him.

please money match his gaw with pt for some significant amount of money, i will fund his half of the mm just so i can watch the youtube vids :bee:.

but really as far as your region goes its really insulting to just make posts like that in general, and you dont want to be "that guy" in your community. you think your better than kaak? stop posting about it, actually practice this game and prove it. dont just have a mediocre performance at one tournament (note that placings Dont mean anything, its who you beat and who you lose to) and then act stupid online.

i love you and im not trying to insult you, but to save you from being looked at like a ****ing idiot from your own community LOL, idc if youre better than kaak or not you have proved ABSOLUTELY nothing to show this.

also, before i leave

dont play PT. all of your characters are free but metaknight LOL

Don't be a ****. Game and Watch -is- a bad character, after all; that's all he suggested. :p

One tournament in two months?! That's ridiculous!

Texas has like 3 a month, haha.
