funnily enough the best situation for us is when we're above 100%
because our ledge getup attack exceeds marths range

the main problem ivysaur and zard have is that they are fairly slow in the air, and lack options when the opponent is in front of them
both their fairs don't work

Edit: a normal getup on the ledge when zard is over 100% is also an option, simply because he gets a crazy amount of invincibility frames. It's just silly. Unfortunately marth can still (obviously) counter it, but I just thought I'd remind people.

Rocksmash is just about the only thing Zard has to stop him from getting 0-death'd like Ivysaur (in the sense that at least he can hit Marth for something worthwhile)
Squirtle is like 20% to death.

I haven't been playing too much since the States, definitely not as much as I used to or as much as others have been, well except for playing with items on high with scrubby high school friends and acquaintances.
I did only start causing him to cry inside after I actually lost at a tournament recently though

It's hard to up your game when you only have 1 or two options in most situations. Especially when those options only have a small chance of success anyway

Ugh, Toby don't even mention breakfast. I had a literally scarring experience with an egg last night at about 10:30-ish (it's now 3:15 in the morning). I was trying to make a fried egg sandwich and I had the stove waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high and I cracked the egg and dropped it onto the skillet from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high and it shot up with the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much butter in the skillet and got all over my arm. Now I have the joy of splatter-shaped 1st degree burns all over my right arm.

Best, when I was talking about secret advantages PT has over marth, I was joking. If you go back and look at what shaya said before I made that original post, when he was talking about all the great things PT can do, he was actually listing several of the advantages MARTH has in the situation. Twas just a bit of light trolling.

I wan't y'alls opinion on this: So yesterday at the melee tourny we had two brawl set ups and for quite a while I played alot of matches against my friend who plays a really good wario (he is on our power ranking so he's one of our top 10). When playing him for some reason I realized that that my charizard was just doing really good against his wario for some reason. I noticed how effective rock smash was as well as his aerials were for spacing him (flamethrower however was useless, kinda obvious though). I'm curious and I want to know is it right to say that Charizard does a good job at fighting Wario without getting wrecked. Also my only complaint is that he didn't up air me when there were points when I was in the air as Charizard and I was vulnerable, like even i noticed it.

Well I for one am glad we have a PT main who fights Marth regularly so we can all get a heads up on what works and what doesn't. Toby, don't switch characters! :O Also, you get major cool points for playing Tales of Vesperia. :D

Bomber, Charizard does ok against Wario. You just have to incredible at spacing with him. Wario's dair ***** Charizard easily. As with all characters with good aerials, you don't want Wario below you 'cuz Charizard doesn't have many options then. Charizard doesn't do BAD against Wario, but if you make too many mistakes, you're gonna get *****, plain and simple. Wario's ftilt even outranges our ledgehopped Flamethrower if he times it right. I've played PhantomX's Wario a pretty good bit, and I usually find that Squirtle does the best against him. As far as guaranteed attacks out of a grab release against Wario, I don't any as Charizard--just haven't practiced that at all, haha. PX is a mofo to grab. XD

Charizard can't air release wario anyway, unless we somehow manage to grab him on the edge or a yoshi's island slop. Thanks for the cool points, zigsta =)

He doesn't have a zero to death of any of them, but against ivysaur it is EXTREMELY likely that we will die if he properly follows up his attacks between 0 and around 60%. It's almost impossible to counter reliably.

Charizard takes a lot of damage, very quickly. We can't really out camp marth, nor can we approach.

Squirtle has all the problems everyone already knows about.

Charizard has a lot of trouble. Not as much as ivysaur, but still a lot. At least squirtle can do ok if we play super evasive.

I played a Wario at a tournament today... if they struggle with circles on the analog stick you can still air release him into Rock Smash lol. It's lulz if they don't know grab release mechanics and keep doing it. Even if they do it can still work once or twice in a match, if you do manage to grab Wario
