Man I dunno what to do in WoW. I'm glad I got a free upgrade to Cataclysm, but lol now what? I don't have time to make a new character, and playing my old characters is ehhhh unappealing. The only thing I intend to do is explore, and go places like Twilight Highlands and Hyjal since I've never been there.
Well, I was in Hyjal back in vanilla WoW :3

You could always make a Goblin and Worgen, run through their starting areas which are pretty darn cool, I must say.

I did that in the beta, and I doubt they changed much? I agree they're really cool though, especially worgen. Goblin's cool too but not so much my thing.

The thrill of exploration disappeared to me as soon as they allowed flying mounts in Old world.

I remember I had a lot of fun traveling from Stormwind all the way to Ravenholt on foot when I first started playing.

When I started the Cata content I just flew over everything to get the exploration achievos...
Lol ive done like 3 quests in Uldum and 0 in Twilight Highlands...

In retrospect, this was a bad decision as I now have to go back to Uldum to raise Ramakhen rep for the enchants... >.>

There wasn't that many quests that gave Ramkhen rep. Just grab a tabard.

Would be pretty awesome if this was a sort of open-world event where Alliance players could take take part in the defense of Theramore while Horde players are attacking it. It doesn't even have to be direct PvP, either. It could be an instanced minigame with Alliance players manning turrets and piloting steam tanks against the Horde players' skyships and boats.

Don't think Blizzard would do anything like that, thanks to whiny Alliance players that will be all like "wahhhhh wahhhh wahhhh Horde is superior again in the story!" and "we're participating in a conflict that we lose anyway bawwwwwwwww!" Blizzard's not allowed to just a tell a story, regardless of faction. One of the many problems with their overreaching metaplot, imo.

Reading through the quest text, for the most part, has got me confused. I think I'm going to hold off on reading through any of the lesser story bits until the xpac releases. The datamined stuff seems really incomplete, and it probably is due to its very nature.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the Pandas. While I'm not a big fan of the fact that they're actually Pandas, I am curious to see how Blizzard handles Eastern-inspired lore. Their take on Norse lore was cool; I wonder if we'll be seeing plays off of Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Journey to the West. I may have my gripes about the story in this game, but I can't deny that there are some neat ideas extant in the setting itself. Not original, for sure, but definitely an interesting mish-mash of ideas from everywhere else.

I just checked my mail on my Rogue, had like 1190 gold in there from customer support and a crapload of items. I recognize most of the items (vaguely) but I'm pretty sure they weren't supposed to be on my rogue. A bunch of them are like, plate and caster stuff. They're mostly lower level blues and stuff but I don't even know o_O
edit: oh, I think most of them are stuff from when I was farming Baron Rivendare in Strat for the mount that never dropped.

edit: so I just explored Twilight Highlands and it was alright. What's the deal with the maw of madness? I remember seeing something about it in beta, you could see it from a distance or something. I wasn't expecting to be able to go inside it though.

I'm not really feeling getting back into the game though. A lot has changed, probably more for better than for worse, but I'm just not interested. The only way I could see myself wanting to play is if I were to start a new character with a close friend, but I don't have any close friends who want to play, and I just have a few more free days left anyway.

I actually like Wintergrasp. However, I do like Tol Barad as well.

Alliance on our server ALWAYS had Wintergrasp. Horde didn't stand a chance at all/

However, at the beggining of Cataclysm at least, Alliance couldn't win Wintergrasp worth anything.

I noticed that in my server, Alliance members can usually 1v1 Horde and win. BUT, make them work with other alliance, they will loose. Alliance members always try to one up each other while Horde know how to fight for a common goal.

Started playing Hyjal on my Priest, it's pretty cool so far.
Cataclysm should have ended with Ragnaros saying "TOO SOON, DEATHWING! YOU HAVE AWAKENED ME TOO SOON!" and killing him, but whatever.

Also, for some reason when I first logged on my priest, my flash heal was (crit) healing for more HP than I even had... tens of thousands. I assume that was some sort of bug, because now it's just like 8k or something after I got my talents. o_o
Disc Priest all day! Though I suppose Shadow would have been faster for questing.
Wait, are there still dual specs?

I never see the issue over it. In raids we all want to replace our gear but often go weeks where that never happens. Suddenly, upgrades everywhere! :D

As excited as I am to play Diablo, I am a helluva lot more excited to play Mists. This better not mean I'm not getting an invite to that beta. -_-

I want to play Diablo 3 beta so I can see how it runs on my computer, and the free 7 days was enough for me to get my WoW fill
Kinda bored already :/ I suppose part of that is from not wanting to start again, and only having 7 days, but still... doing these quests it's like "I've done all this before."
Though throwing bear cubs out of a tree was pretty cool.

I am little butt-plundered about the fact that I've had and played a WoW account for 7 years, and I have never received a beta invite.

This time I do want to try the beta because Warlocks are going to be absolutely ****ing amazing and I want to Harvest Life everyone, all day, every day.

My free game time expires in about 9 hours. I just used my *free* level 80 thing to level up my original Paladin... the one I first made and quit before ever reaching 60. He was level 55. His server is Smolderthorn. The one I 'raided' original Hyjal with when it used to have like, construction signs in it. Never forget.
That is pretty cool, tbh.

Also it's kinda cool how it shows what your character looks like on your account management page, including their gear.


edit: just explored Vashj'ir on my freshly level 80 paladin with fresh 80stuff gear. That zone is extremely cool, one of the prettiest things I've seen in video games. Abyssal Depths is creepy.
I made him Ret spec, and Pallies have changed completely since I last played, unlike my Rogue and Priest who felt familiar. but like, I killed stuff slowly and seemed to run out of mana quickly. It was eh.
