You might wanna update the 1st post a little bit. US prices for VC games are as follows: $5 for NES, $8 for SNES, and $10 for N64, and then there's all the rest of the speculation that can now be turned into fact.

does it actually come with everything that the US one comes with, or is it the same deal as in Japan, where there's no Wii Sports? b/c if it is the same package as the US one, then I'm headed for the border!

The strangest part is that the Pokemon game seems to be something akin to a launch title for Japan, but I've seen no mention of it on any English (official) site...

Ah, according to IGN, "...Pokemon Battle [...] will be launching during their launch window in Japan. When can you expect that here in the US? Shortly thereafter." Weither that means soon after our launch this year, or early next year, is not implied.

And no DVD playback is a minor thing. Sony lobbiests wouldn't let us hear the end of it if we had it mind you. (them and their primary-coloured laser)

Using Bluetooth technology, the wireless Wii Remote controller sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remote Controllers can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun!

Nintendodude: The Japanese arn't getting the Wii until after us, yes, but that doesn't mean we'll get all the games before them. Obviously, our launch titles will be first with us because we'll have the launch before them, but as I mentioned before, Pokemon Battle Revolution will be one of the titles that Japan will have before everyone else.

As for my launch title, I'd love to go with Zelda, but odds are is that unless I'm **** fast (which I might be), it'll be gone before I can get it. There's always the packaged Sports, plus I'm always a fan of Monkey Ball, so maybe I'll get that one. I'm going to check if my resident EB will take preorders today, but I'm doubting it.

I can't wait. The 19th is later than I was hoping, but oh well. I'm definitely getting Zelda (duh), probably Monkey Ball, and Wii Sports comes with it. Add some controllers and a couple of VC games, and I'll definitely be dropping some well-spent cash this holiday season.

Well, the only sad thing is that some of the best games arent being launched this year. Brawl, Mario Galaxy, etc. Also, does anyone know if Rayman Raving Rabbids is a launch title? I think it is.

Donut, Why did you say MP3 won't be released a t launch? Was there a delay?
Sadly, yes. :crying: :crying: It'll come out in 2007. I'm stuck with Twilight Princess, then, which actually looks good. (Don't mind me, I dislike Zelda games.)

Hmm, so the Wii will retail for $249.99? After all of the rumors and speculation, I can't say that I like that price.:ohwell: On the bright side, it's cheap compared to the 360, and extremely cheap when compared to the PS3. But honestly, $60 for a complete controller?! Wow.

Aside from Zelda, there's really no reason to get the Wii. . .all the AAA titles got pushed to 2007. And at this point, none of us really know if the Zelda Wii controls actually work out well. Remember E3, where the person demonstrating the Wii controls couldn't even shoot the arrows properly?

And is anyone else utterly bored by Wii Sports? I mean. . .I'd much rather not have that game bundled in, and have the price be at $200 instead of $250. Sports sims just aren't my thing, I suppose.

I'll be lining up to get the Wii at midnight, though. -_- Curse my loyalty to this company.

Nintendo is far to facsist to let porn be on their stuff. If anything went online of that nature, they would probably have your Wii self-distruct.

As Revolutions said, most of the multiplayer games don't seem to need the nunchuku, so it's more like $40 than $60. An extra nunchuku might be needed, but I'm fairly certain that a lot of the games will go one handed.

Mii character creation is very cool. I hope you get to use the characters you make in games other than Wii Sports and Wii Music. At E3 when they had Shiggy, Iwata and Reggie playing Wii Tennis with their characters... I couldn't stop laughing. It was so awesome.

Am I the only person excited about Monkey Ball Banana Blitz? I had so much fun with the GC versions (except for Adventure, which I've avoided), and can't wait for not only the 50 (!) minigames of Blitz, but also all of the new 1p levels.

I have a question:

On the title post of this thread, it says that the first game that will feature online play will be Pokemon... What about RED STEEL? Or was that only considering First-Party games? UbiSoft has said on many occasions that RED STEEL would have online play, and that they were building on online engine from the ground up for the Wii, and such. Did they have to cut it out to save time, I wonder.

Wow, I thought I was the only Monkey Ball fan in Smashboards. I loved SMB 1 & 2, and I'm still a proud owner of 2. I've played Adventure in Best Buy, and I agree that it wasn't all that hot. 50 minigames for Banana Blitz?! All of them with multiplayer?! *Plans to save money*

No third party games will have online until 2007 when Nintendo shares the necessary information with them. This was announced a few weeks ago. Ubisoft said they may add online at another time.

When they release the patch I'll be sure to download it to my hardrive. :psycho:
