Don't forget that Nintendo did admit that Mario Kart 7 was rushed just so the 3DS had a reason to be bought (I'm not totally crazy over this Mario Kart due to its bare bone amount of content where DS & Wii had so much to do). I'm doubting the Wii U Mario Kart will suffer the same fate as we're seeing it at E3 and will probably be done when the Wii U is more than a year old.
This is true. Plus for Nintendo to rush out a Mario Kart game on a next gen console, like the Wii U, having only bare bone (as you put it) content would be a slap to the face of the fanbase, in my opinion.
Plus I'm hoping Namco Bandai Games will port the upcoming arcade Mario Kart game (Mario Kart Arcade GP DX) onto the Wii U eShop since finding any place that had the previous 2 arcade games was extremely hard (plus they were asking one dollar PER RACE to let you play the game). Then we'd have two original Mario Kart games for the Wii U.
This is such a genius idea. I can understand the Wii not being able to do this, given its lack of power to probably run the games, but the Wii U can! I would seriously have a coma-induced orgasm if this came to be.

It's not necessarily broken, more than they just castrated the competitive aspect by making all heavyweights the same in stats, all cruiserweights the same in stats, and so on. Other than that, I pretty much agree; Nintendo really needs to think about this year's E3, since anything less than stellar would be akin to bringing a knife to a nuke fight, given the reveal of Sony's PS4, and the rumors of Microsoft's next console will do Nintendo no favors either, if they decide on showing only party games and casual titles the core market cares nothing for.
you DO know i mean it has bugs everywhere, like ultra shortcuts and sudden out of bounds that even the past installments did NOT have like clipping through the wall on daisy cruiser is in 7, but not double dash, time trial ghosts occasionally DESYNC by getting stuck somewhere random wifi disconnects for no reason, someone can simply item **** you long enough to get you idled out from the game

I've had the random disconnects, but everything else has been patched up. I never dealt with item spammers either.
not everything, ONLY the maka wuhu, ,wuhu loop, and that one track was patched, the glitch videos you see arising still are NOT patched
daisy cruiser, luigi's mansion, kalamari desert, rainbow road 7, Koopa cape are still broken

I didn't think they had exploits. Then again, given enough time, people will find all kinds of ways to break a game. Let's hope MK7 is relevant enough of a game for Nintendo to update.

For those possibly interested, all Ubisoft titles on the eShop are 30% off. Not bad if you want ZombiU or something like that and don't mind downloading.
"Fans, we're sorry for delaying Rayman Legends for the stupidest reason possible because we want it to bomb when it's released alongside Grand Theft Auto V! Instead of doing the smart thing and just RELEASING THE WII U VERSION RIGHT NOW, we're instead gonna take a 30% hit on all of our other Ubisoft games when we could keep making 100% our profit on games! Aren't we smart?!"

.... I mad. brb buying Assassin's Creed III.

I'm sure this has been discussed at a point in the thread I missed, but after spending most of last week on my Wii U, and playing the hell out of F-Zero (.30 is a DEAL) on the Wii U VC (the gamepad is soooo nice), I've come to realize that Miiverse is like my favorite thing ever. I absolutely can't wait until there's more games to play, because having different communities constantly posting and updating, with screenshot and friend support is like, one of the best things ever. I just freakin' LOVE Miiverse. So much.

I think I might be more excited for Sm4sh's Miiverse community than Sm4sh itself!

Didn't really bother with the Mini creator after the hype settled down.

I bought a Wii recently with a motion plus remote + nunchuck for $50 at a wholesale store like a month ago! What a steal right? Anybody have any good game recommendations for me? Here's a list of the games I have on it right now.

http://imgur.com/5IGvn5U

Also got Xenoblade Chronicles on an SD card somewhere.

Also I'm planning on buying Okami for the PS3 instead of torrenting it because it'll look WAY better. And I might play No More Heroes, Metroid Prime 3/Other M, Pandora's Tower. Kinda don't know where to go from the mainstream games, and would love some recommendations on these/other games/good multiplayer games. Thanks in advance!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a good multiplayer.
Mario Strikers Charged is actually one of the better multiplayer games out there (in my opinion). Unfortunately, online is quite dead right now...
Metroid Prime Trilogy consists of three high quality games.
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, if you like the Zelda games.
Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best game on the Wii. The sequel is just as great (if not better).
Mario Kart Wii is probably one of the better multiplayer packed with hours and hours of gameplay.

I guess these are the mainstream ones... But check out Mario Strikers Charged.

I actually finished Metroid 1 and I don't really have an interest in 2, but I'll probably play 3. Playing PM right now, but Brawl makes one hell of a coaster. And since I need some good multiplayer games, I'll probably DL Charged.

Dead in the water is putting it quite lightly. It's one of the only multiplayer games I ever played with friends (The others being Naruto and James Bond Nightfire) but it was an excellent play in my opinion.

Strikers was really good. My only complaint, other than I thought it lacked charm aesthetically, was that everyone online played Diddy and could just flip the ball into the net at kick off -_-.
Sonic Colours is definitely worth giving a shot, the other Wii Sonic games are mostly love it or hate it. Battalion Wars 2 was also another great Wii game, multiplayer was fun but I'd guess that's dead too now.
Kirby's Adventure Wii looked fun as well, but I've never played it, so I'm not sure.

I played Colours on DS, I heard that version was the better one, but the Wii version surely look good.

MSC has a special design, and I understand that some people don't find it appealing enough for their taste. However, I disagree that everyone online played Diddy (or maybe the meta game changed after I left). It doesn't matter though, Diddy is rather scrubby and you can defend yourself against the chip from mid-court.

I haven't played Sonic Colours and Battalion Wars 2 (I can imagine it being good), but I do know that Kirby's Adventure Wii has a great asymmetric co-op gameplay. It's great, especially if you like Kirby games.

I liked the artstyle, it was just the stage design and the fact everything looked so dull that didn't appeal to me. In game everything looked plain and dull. A mix between the intro movie and the artwork for the game would have looked much better.
I mentioned Diddy from personal, albeit short, experience. I only played around 10-20 matches, but around 75% was either against a Diddy player, or some other fast captain and Boos/Dry Bones.

Ah, I see. The artstyle is cool, I agree with that. And I see why you think that everything looked dull. It was one of the earlier Wii-games.

What made me stop playing MSC was because Boo went from the best character too plain broken. It ruined the experience for me.

Hard to believe that LEGO City: Undercover is only one week away. Words can not describe how excited I am for this game. It has caught my ever since it was shown at E3 2012. This game should keep me occupied until other big names like Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 comes out. Plus I can't wait for the 3Ds prequel, titled LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, coming out next month too.

Anyone else having problems getting LEGO City: Undercover from retailers? The game was released today but there's a bad case of shipping delays across the nation where retailers are not sure when it'll be available.

This is really getting me mad as I'm been dying to buy a new Wii U game (and this game is a VERY anticipated game for me), I already have my game full paid off months ago, and I don't want to cancel my preorder to just buy an external hard drive, wait 10 or more hours for the download to be finished (it's 19 GB), and lose my Chase McCain mini-figure I'm getting from the preorder just to get it digitally. I'm just praying I'll finally get it tomorrow. :urg:

Or you could just be patient and not kiss your pre-order goodbye. You would also be saving money by not buying the external hard drive for just one game.

I said I'm not canceling my preorder, I'm saying I don't want and will not go digital on this. Buying a hard drive and that extremely long download time isn't worth it.

No clue. The only retail game I've bought digitally is Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and that was about 5 GB. I know that the Wii U disc can hold 25 GB and this LEGO game is pretty big in gameplay and content so I'm really not that surprised with its file size.

I would say the average size of a Wii u game would be around 15 GB, which is very reasonable.

Got the new Monster Hunter on the Wii U (my first Hunter game), played it for a bit yesterday. Haven't gotten to any actual monster hunting yet though so it's a bit meh. One thing that is confusing is that getting the Wii U retail version of the game is the ONE way to not get club nintendo points for it. You can download the Wii U game and get points, and you can buy or download the 3DS version and it comes with points, but if you buy the Wii U version as a disc, no points. Strange, and disappointing because I would have had enough for Mario Tennis. D:< Noooo~

Yeah, the game does take some time before you hunt your first real monster, but baby steps first. If you ever need help, go visit the Monster Hunter ultimate thread. We are happy to help.

then again if you take your system and games to like friend's houses you have to lug all the games you plan on playing with ya, whereas DLING them all and just taking the USB device and system for ALL games is more ideal

which is why i used USB loader on wii

Well I'm short on money and I already got the game last Thursday (effing amazing game btw). And I don't mind taking my games to other people's places as I'm being doing this since the N64 days. I do have one download on my Wii U but basically because to get some points faster for the Deluxe Digital Promotion and it's $40 price tag was something that encouraged me to get it digitally ( that was my first ever retail game I've bought for a game system too)

After 50 hours and 38 minutes I've finally gotten 100% on LEGO City: Undercover. Hands down a must own for Wii U owners. Now to wait for its 3DS prequel coming out later this month.

Now to finish up Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and actually start on Sin and Punishment: Star Successor.

Congrats. I've just finished the 5th level I think, and am enjoying it up to now. I still think the original Lego Star Wars is slightly better than this, but that's more due to my nostalgia of the Episode 1 and 4 Lego sets from the 90's.

I've not played Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed since Christmas due to the Expert challenges, especially Traffic Attacks. I've got all the characters except Dr. Eggman XD. I need to get round to unlock him at some point. I'm glad they brought Alex Kidd back eventually, and his Santa colour scheme was a nice touch. They've apparently patched or are going to patch the Traffic Attacks to make them easier I think.

If they've fixed the online physics then that's great. I loved playing online on the first game, and was pretty decent at it too; I remember overtaking everyone by two laps on that first House of the Dead track as the Bonanza Bros., but I haven't given it much of a go on this one.
I know the original had that thing over using fan art of Sonia for the Amy card floor decoration on the Bingo level, did they replace that on this one lol?

Never played the first Sonic Racing game but the Sonia fanart thing was only on the Wii and PC version. It was patched in the PC version removing it (but not the Wii version due to the Wii can't do patches). I'm betting the Roulette Road was imported from the 360/PS3 version anyways.

While it's pretty late to be replying to this. Mario Kart Wii had a longer development time and yet had much more game-breaking shortcuts than Mario Kart 7 ever had. Mushroom Gorge, Coconut Mall, Wario's Gold Mine and Grumble Volcano have far worse issues than Maka Wuhu did (especially Coconut Mall's which is pretty much game breaking). Bowser's Castle also has a clipping shortcut in that game, too. Honestly, I don't understand all of the hate for Mario Kart 7 as, even if it was rushed, it felt quite polished to me sans two very odd choices for characters and the omission of single-player versus.
