Elitism. Yippy.

So, todays update on Brawl was something about building stages and you've all heard it a billion times by now. The thing that interested me was that you could save it to an SD card...meaning that you can read it from said memory card. Unless they really want us to move it from SD to Wii...

Does this mean that they're going to allow us to read from SD cards? Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

The update says "And I’m happy that this is compatible with SD cards." so it sounds like a per-game deal.

Wasn't Excite Truck compatable with them, or did you need to take the music onto the Wii?

Shucks.

I really wouldn't mind not having a hard drive if they would just allow me to use my 2gig SD card...I could store all my VC games and pictures/Smash videos on there, using the 512 for Wii Ware...

And you're right; I had forgotten about Excite Truck. Bah.

When Wii's version of Multiplatform games came out in 06/Early '07, the control was horrible! But Since I got the Simpsons game and Star Wars: The Complete Saga, the control has gotten much easier. And if you don't like the games out now, just buy some VC games, and enjoy the memories. :D

The wii already has good games. There's the obivous Zelda, then there's Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, and more.

super paper mario sucked
I find it interesting how people prefer to say a game sucked rather than just admit that they just did not like it. Everyone is entitled their opinion, but methinks a game doesn't suck unless more than 50% of Wii owners hate it. >_>

Are you guys forgetting Zack and Wiki? This game is so pro.

I also bought Scarface Wii and Strikers, both are two great games.

Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3
Super Paper Mario
Fire Emblem: RD
Battalion Wars 2
Mario Strikers Charged
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Guitar Hero 3

All great games that define the Wii, IMO. Plus, we have Mario Galaxy, Animal Crossing, Project O, Mario Kart, Pikmin 3, Red Steel 2, Brawl, and No More Heroes all coming out relativley soon.

I don't understand how somebody could possibly say the Wii doesn't have good games.

What I will say, is that in terms of hardcore multiplayer gaming in the same household, the Wii is SEVERLY lacking. All it has is Red Steel- which is by no means a horrible game, but definetly not a good one.

DeLoRtEd1, is ZaW really that good? I'd like to know exactly what I'm getting into before I slap 50 bucks down for that sucker.

Trust me, ZaW is really, really, good.

I don't know if you have a girlfriend, but my girlfriend loves it. We've been playing together and the puzzles are laid out in such a way that it's like Zelda with the presentation and music, but it's more accessible as puzzles in Zelda often weren't solved until you killed everything, etc..things that girls don't like. She's not good at video games in a general sense, like most girls..for example, she would suck at Melee..but she was good at ZaW. Not because it was easy, but because the controls were simple and the puzzles were logical, but hard.

But I don't know what it is about this game, the puzzles are logical and it's just pointing and clicking, so it never gets to a bad state of confusion.

But yeah, I definitely recommend this game.

You're getting a game with awesome puzzles, cool music and fun gameplay..sure, in the intro you might find Wiki to be a little annoying (my friends did) but after he explains everything to you, he shuts up. If you're worried about difficulty, you shouldn't..some of these puzzles are mindbending. But they're the kind of puzzle that doesn't turn you off and really satisfies you when you complete it.

Trust me, you want this game. The controls couldn't be done without the remote.

Miss you Ryan
I've been curious about ZaW too.

The games I've played on the Wii are

LoZ:TP
MP3:Corruption
WarioWare
DBZ tenkaichi
Guitar hero 3
STRIKERS
Wii Play
Super Paper Mario
Mario Party 8
Elebits
Raving Rabbids
Excite Truck
Red Steel

and I'm going to pick up Galaxy tomorrow.

My general oppinion is that even the games that weren't very sound compared to other successful games like Red Steel, Elebits, Mario Party 8, so on, they were still a hell of a lot of fun. Elebits had zero story to it, and seemed like more of a tech demo than a game, but it was still a great experience.

The Wii has built its foundation, and there are monster releases on the way.
My only issue is that it seems like I'm always waiting for the big release. Since I finished LoZ:TP last year, it seems like I've spent more time waiting for a game like metroid, mario galaxy, brawl, kart, etc. than I actually spent playing.

With so much distance between major releases, the problem of a lack of a solid hardcore multiplayer game is highlighted. Replay value will be relatively low for most other games, but if Nintendo could find a way to make a game stick, I.E. more online titles, they'll be much more successful. I don't care how much people hated red steel. I think it'd be pretty sweet online.

I couldn't agree more. I've had great times playing Red Steel multiplayer w/my friends, and if we could do that split screen and online, I think I would die.

I can't believe you guys actually enjoyed Red Steel. I think I only had fun because of how bad it was.

That being said, it's pretty fun watching your hand tard out if you keep mashing the grenade button (Down on the D-pad)

Oh man, terrible game. The controls were awful, that's why I'm thinking MoHH2 is looking to be pretty insane...

Edit: Buy Zack and Wiki, support Capcom's decision to branch out and make a pro original game

Wait, DeLoRtEd, did you ever play the 4-player bouny-hunter-esque mode? It owned!

Better not get off topic, anyone know how long it'll be until Check Mii Out is dl-able?

Check Mii Out is a Mii showing off channel with contests and so on, like "Make a historical figure" as a Mii and so on.

Red Steel was okay 1 player, but Multiplayer was just bad, huge arenas, yet cramped, and the fact there was only like 4 guns and you died fairly quick....

And that's just it. The Wii doesn't have enough games that appeal to the hardcore audience. I'm not interested in Metroid Prime 3, Fire Emblem, Battalion Wars or Mario Strikers. They're games that appeal to the strictly Nintendo crowd. It needs more appealing games for people who are picky about their games and don't just want the same old series. It just all comes down to that difference in opinion. I have different taste than you in games, I bought a Wii, there's only a few select titles that I see that I'll end up buying for it. Your list of "epic" titles aren't nearly what I'd define as epic now a days, either. Epic games are the ones that pull you into the game, where the story rivals that of something you'd watch at a movie theater. I've yet to play a Wii game with pacing, audio, graphics and gameplay like that.

I don't really understand this post at all to be honest. The Wii does have games that appeal to the hardcore audience..but you refuse to play them?

Basically you're just a graphics *****, which isn't surprising. Because if you didn't judge the game solely by graphics, you'd see that your taste is simply comprised of what makes your eyes glaze over, because really, the Wii has games that meets every single one of your criteria for an epic game..including graphics to a certain degree. I've heard Xbox fanboys say their Wii is collecting dust..but really, they either simply don't care about being proven wrong or just don't pay attention very much.

I'm a hardcore gamer, but why would you define hardcore as Xbox? It's really silly to say a game is epic because a game has stunning graphics.

The Wii has GOTY 2007 easily with Mario Galaxy, I think that much is certain.

PS. Halo 3 is just the same old series

my opinion exactly.
there aren't games that scream, "i'm worth all the money you spent on the concole and them some"
the 360 is filled with such games
as expencive as the ps3 is, it has games that say that
