It's Pokemon Battle Revolution. Scav mentioned it in the 2nd podcast.Online Pokemon game for the wii, forgot the entire name
Source: http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/04/05/more-deets-on-super-mario-strikers-charged/Two players, on the same console, will apparently be able to take on another pair on another console through Wi-Fi Connect.....
The bad news, though, is that the game will support game-specific Friend Codes, adding more credibility to a future online experience on the Wii that is as cumbersome and difficult as that of the DS. As said before, the game will feature ranked and unranked matches, however when jumping into a quick ranked match against random opponent, you'll be region-locked, preventing you from taking on some competition from another country.
That was Infendo.com, BTW.Nintendo of Europe is apparently in an Easter mood. Available online (and probably a lot of fun in the Wii browser) is a free game called Chick Chick Boom. It's sort of a cross between Worms and Rayman Raving Rabbids. It was created by the same folks that brought us Mission In Snowdriftland last Christmas. (There's even a cameo by Chubby Snow.) After a couple rounds, I'm hooked.
While I admit that the quote is very cynical, he/she does have some things right. The only real difference in thought between me and this person is that I would've bought Sadness anyway, and I wouldn't mind seeing something out of the box every once and a while.I still haven't figured out what the hype is. It was an FMV of concepts that.. if realistically considered.. espically now that i've used the Wii-mote, seem impossible.. or more like, Not fun... From a developer who has a mission statement ripped out of a Nintendo ad campaign... the story was somewhat interesting, but lead me to see a game tha was little more then a glorified Escort mission at worst, and an Ico clone at best.
Sadness reminded me more of Lifeline though.. great concept lost due to poor game design and flawed technology... or.. i should say, technology that wasn't ready for a title of that percision. Not saying it couldn't have been well made, but the Escort-mission game is dosne so often, and so often badly that I'd need to see something more before I have any hope of it being good.
Wii needs the concept of "Sadness" Not the game itself.
And seriously, Wii isn't about art. It's about "fun" Mini-game fests and franchises. Artful games are niche games that don't sell well... Wii is about Mass Market, and attracting to non-gamers. Your grandma dosen't want to play Sadness... so none of that.. This is a Nintendo Console, Take your mario/zelda/metroid/pokemon, and eat it like a good boy/girl.
Right now I don't really believe them. This was one of those game announced early on like Raid over the River that got people excited because there was nothing else worth looking at. I think the fact that they've been "dropped" and still have not produced any kind of visual proof they are in fact developing a game is very telling. And, my favorite piece of news to report today, 'Sadness' might NOT be vaporware. Nibris still says it exists.
