You've probably taken what I've said in our discussion about improving, etc. the other day and thought the whole euro chat was like that. =S

Of course we don't FORCE them to get better, it's up to them whether they want to or not. And we don't treat them badly for not wanting to, because they'll eventually do naturally simply by playing and having fun. I'd gladly help anyone who wants to get better though. Some of the people who actually wanted were Fays, Squall, and quite a few others, and this hasn't taken out anything out of the chat. There was a time where I was exactly like them and wanted to improve myself. Nobody forced me to, but whenever I played with Lawrence, Smakis, Dandan and Mahie I would ask them stuff to see what I can do. It's just advice, doesn't hurt anyone.

We're all still happy. Everyone's still chilling there. ^^

You definitely went away for the wrong reasons, let's just reconcile and have you back on the chat for the sake of good old times. =)

Yeah I remembered when I joined, everybody forced me to play as they told me so I could improve faster. And everytime I was losing they were insulting me and that's why I tryed to get better .

The real problem is that "random people" or "newbs who play for fun" only want to win easily. So when they join the euro group, they see that's not the case and just leave. I guess you know that better than me: there are a lot of beginners who join the group then don't show up a few days/weeks later. They hoped they could play a lot of people and win all the time, thus having fun. And as they see that's not the case, they just don't want to play with us (they're not even raging, they just don't want to play to lose). It's like when I play random guys on server, if I win they kick me out of the game.

Either people want to play competitively (like the majority of the group), either they only want to have fun by crushing lvl1 CPU (like most random players) and therefore, won't play with us.

I guess that's the problem with that game: most people have to win in order to have fun so either they need to improve or they don't want to and stay out of our group.

In my case, I was impressed by seeing how I got comboed in the beginning (maddy, fays, ...) so I liked losing XD and that didn't make me want to quit ^^.

How stupid this discussion have become. Its sounds like we are talking about the worst thing ever. The eurochat is just a chat where people talk about whatever they want, and sometimes ask each other to play a game of smash. Where this you-have-to-be-better-or-else-your-a-failure talk and everyone is snobs talk comes from, I have no idea.

That was a weaksauce fix. If only some of them are thought to be snobs, why would they be famous for something that's not even a stereotype? And is saying only some of them are snobs supposed to be a burn or something? Besides, every society has its fair share of snobs.

You should have fixed it to something like, "Americans are always bigoted morons. They're kind of famous for it." Now THAT, my friend, would have guaranteed an immediate flame war.

Nixxxon is kinda right in a way.

In France, which is considered a southern country, there is a famous popular song by Boris Vian called "J'suis snob" (I'm a snob), which makes snobbish people. =D

Of course, snobs do exist in France and other southern european countries but they are far more vulnerable to criticism or mockery.

But I'm sure most of you don't even know what "snob" means... =p

I played an 8 minute match today against legendary's yoshi where he just camped under the tent shooting eggs, and there some other people who camp like this too. Why someone with skill would insist on playing that way boggles my mind, unless maybe he really doesnt have skill and has to play like that to win.

(btw, technically i am not european, as i think israel is a part of asia, but it is really unclear, as we do participate in european competitions and not in asian ones [though we used to compete in those in the past])

It has nothing to do with having skill or not, I think, pretty much like the conservative, non risky approach style of playing, which makes the game slower and longer

I mean, the thing is, in the euro community, we have a chat where we talk about all sorts of things. And it's become quite boring since a while. While we didn't agree quite often with Nixxxon, at least we talked about a plethora of various subjects and had loads of fun. We still do, but significantly less ever since Smakis and Nixxxon left. The latter would also play quite often, and playing is the key to keeping the community as alive as possible. Which is why I want to get both those players back, because no matter who they were and what opinions they had, they were still a good part in our euro community. <3

Also Funk, we should play sometimes but not only ssb64, but other online games. There are many cool online games that we could organize stuff. Boredom and monotony are probably reasons why people are not that active (like me)

Dude its ONE game that I've been playing since many years ago. Same for other players I guess. Time kills everything. I dont feel nearly as excited playing as some years ago. I would love to see the community evolve into "SSB AND online games euro community". There are so many great games.
I'd love to play some Dolphin games online at full speed but i can't D:

You won't be able to run every single game on dolphin at a consistent full speed, no matter how good your computer is. The emulator is not perfectly utilized and many games will have graphics or lag issues
