I think i'll leave this snippet here. Lucario isn't my main, but he's my best alternative for Glory, since the Miis aren't allowed. This match occurred yesterday, so Lucario's capabilities can be considered part of the current build.

Double post, but (hopefully) the content is different enough to warrant it

Have a few vids of Japanese lucario players - Motsunabe and Gomamugitya are the standouts. Credits to FourSword and Pentao for finding these a few weeks ago, but might as well post them here for posterity.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KEvgJo_cZI Motsunabe :4lucario: versus Falcon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=026Y0JYDcKc Gomamugitya :4lucario: versus :4pikachu:

The SHI-G channel also has a ton of mid-high level Japanese sm4sh play. Worth taking a look around.

I know you posted this a while ago, but I can't get over several things: how tight that string was from the Lucario player from about 1:18 to 1:21 and also around 7:20, how good the player's DI was, and I think most of all that's the best movement I've seen from a Lucario playeredit: @ 8:03, how did he go upwards while doing his dair?(If it's just pressing up, dairing, and then immediately pressing up again I can't get the timing right).

That Air Walk, you mean? The write up is for Brawl, but it is still applicable. http://smashboards.com/threads/air-...l-at-still-need-an-instructioinal-vid.271111/ (not as applicable in Smash 4 though due to DAir's reduced hitbox)

Not gonna ask people to get an instructional vid together. During Brawl two people tried and their computers died. So it is the "forbidden tech", lol.

So Lucarios in Japan finally caught on to doing Aura Sphere Charges to Jump Cancel USmashes, eh? 'Bout time. I wonder how many Japanese lurk here...

Would someone mind taking a look at these plays and critiquing me?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvze04WEUao :4lucario:(me) vs :4dk:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRBlzD05vf8 :4lucario:(me) vs:4megaman:

I was mainly wanting to test my capture card but I figure they would make decent videos for critiques. I know I 2-stocked both these guys but there's always room for improvement and I know some things could've been executed better. I don't particularly fancy getting involved with super competitive Smash (don't plan on entering any tournaments) but I do like improving when and where I can. The me vs Megaman match was played today.

Wheee, won another tournament! Here's all my sets that were recorded.

Losers Quarterfinals vs. :4pikachu:
I had never faced a Pikachu before so I was kind of lost at times but it went okay in the end.

Losers Semifinals vs. :rosalina:
I prefer using piercing aura sphere against Rosalina but I changed out of it in match 2 because I didn't want to risk him changing characters while being stuck with piercing.

Losers Finals vs. :4yoshi:
I've played the matchup a lot but I didn't manage to play it in the way I wanted to but it worked out still. Got caught by egg lay wayyy too many times.

Grand Finals vs. :4falcon:
I lost to Trifroze 1-2 in winners but came to the GF set much more patiently and it paid off. Really nice set and plays from both.

EDIT: Doubles Grand Finals with Trifroze's :4falcon:vs. :4falcon: & :4ness:

Good stuff Loota! You make the Falcon MU look easy. Kinda surprised you really didn't go for the 1 frame Aura Sphere ledge grab punish much though.

Good stuff though.

One thing about fighting Rosalina is that, if you grab her and Luma is close by, try uthrowing over anything else. The "punch" hitbox on uthrow has a ton of knockback and is almost guaranteed to kill Luma every time.

I wish my channel's videos got 500 views on average :/

e: are these pre-patch or post-patch?

Thanks! I should maybe have gone for more of those but I mostly like to wait for the opponent to come up from the ledge with an almost fully charged AS, as it creates a whole lot of pressure for people coming back up and it's easier to read and trap them in those situations. Anyways, I should practice the timing of catching that frame 1 window so I'd be more comfortable in going for it in tournaments too.

That's exactly the thing I was wondering when I watched these through the first time, I have no idea why I didn't go for upthrows at all though it is indeed a really good tool in getting rid of Luma. Maybe I was just more comfortable in punishing her close to the ground after the grabs as she is kind of hard to juggle from beneath (and time consuming if Luma is already killed) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for the reminder still!

The matches are pre-patch. Gotta keep it so that that set was the last time I died to Falcon's uair!

Those were truly inspiring to watch. I didn't know you could stop running and immediately go into reverse-AS until now =P Lotsa neat stuff I need to try out and master :3

Watch me murder Jiggles. 9/10 of my matches against Jigglypuff users on For Glory look like this.

But here's a match with slightly more competent foes

While Kami was at CEO beating up NAKAT, I was winning the largest regional tournament in the Canadian Maritimes. Came 2nd in doubles and 1st in singles, winning ~$320 in Canadian play-money. Here are the videos:

Doubles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2NksWHjDY8 :4lucas: :4yoshi: The Lucas was an old Brawl veteran from way back when and she may be making a comeback now that Lucas is a thing again. Looks like she's still got it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZqWARnTRvw :4ganondorf: :4dk: Game 3 only
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ipPN_yD8pQ :4pikachu: :4gaw: Games 1 and 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T3empj84nk :4pikachu: :4gaw: Game 2 only
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS_BSIzO7VA :4ryu: :4robinf: Loser's Finals. If you watch only one doubles video, make it this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSNveDDa_Ek :4ganondorf: :4dk: Excluding game 2. Grand Finals. Customs suck :/

Singles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw-1c2RBkJo :4rob: Apparently Lucario's bair breaks shields, lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YjYyHOmCgA :4rob: Game 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pZCWawMb8I :4kirby: Winner's Finals. The little turd is hard as hell to hit. Of the singles videos, probably watch this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-bQd998pUk :4kirby: Grand Finals. Crazy reverse-3-stock in game 2. Got frustrated and switched to :4duckhunt: for games 4 and 5. Turned out to be a good idea!

You can find other videos of the tournament here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCfwj3CGMWEc_Hpv5Z50iQAGEB8tw3WL_

All told, even though I won the tournament, I'm not satisfied at all with my performance with Lucario. All I did was grab and Aura Sphere - powerful moves, but each of my singles matches were too close for comfort and I feel I only won because my opponents weren't as adapting as well as they should have. I coasted on my reads and reactions only, which was enough, but I could be doing so much better.

Lately, especially in training up to the tournament, I've been putting more work into Duck Hunt than Lucario and it really showed. I very much need to lab Lucario hardcore and utilize the rest of his tools. It might have been because this was only the second high-stakes tournament I've used Lucario in and I subconsciously wanted to play much safer (especially against Kirby, goddamn is he annoying to fight) but that also just means I'm not comfortable or confident in my own main.

Oops, I forgot to post any videos I got from the last tournament. We didn't get any replays so that's why Trifroze's channel has been quiet but we did stream all finals.

www.twitch.tv/smashfinland/b/675375578
34:50 -> vs. Samura1man's :4luigi:
1:05:30 -> vs. Skinutski's :4palutena:/:4falco:

And so, Skinutski continues his tradition of beating me with his arsenal of scary, unknown characters. I had never before played a Falco in a tournament, let alone in friendlies, so I was pretty clueless at times. I tried to throw him off with my Samus once too but it didn't work out too well. No johns though, he played really well and definitely made me respect the newborn Falco.

You really need to stop trying to punish recoveries, especially when you're at death percentage yourself.
One thing I was disappointed with myself was especially that, I didn't quite manage to get too many gimps at all. I do not regret going for them though vs. Luigi as I usually do get a lot of them in this matchup. The character is kinda easy to gimp by going low enough and just being patient but I seemed to be a bit unsure and this time. Against Falco though, I should've just stayed on the stage as I failed miserably in hitting his upB at all. It was my first time playing one so I went for the edgeguards probably because I mistakenly thought he'd be as easy to edgeguard as Brawl Falco whee

Please critic, I've stopped playing Melee and picked up the game (finally) two weeks ago. I'm still getting used to the transition from Brawl to smash 4 so educated me my friends. (I didn't apprciiate just how much sheild breaker was buffed!)

Nice use of bair (I really need to start using that move more). I'd use aura sphere more though, and play more defensive at high %s

You seemed pretty in your element against Marth, kept him spaced well, but seemed to falter at the end of some of your own attack chains. I saw two instances of utilt -> utilt that ended with whiffed attacks instead of positioning, and you got punished as a result. Messing around with utilts for 30 seconds against a midweight will probably teach you more than any of my advice, but I like shield->grab in that position.

There was a wifi tourney yesterday, and while I'm not exactly the super hardcore competitive type I figured I'd join because it sounded fun. Ended up winning the thing. It was my first ever 'real' tourney so I was shocked I made it to the end. Would've recorded them all into one big video but the tourney lasted about 5 hours and I don't have that kinda HDD space xP But enough of my rambling, here're all 14 of my matches in order:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUtsBdJT2mI :4lucario: vs Jesuiscontent :4kirby: (I consider this one of my worst matches)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tusfIy0ALLM :4lucario: vs Jesuiscontent :4kirby:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN8vYkjaX_U :4lucario: vs DrLuigi :4sonic: (I finally started to calm down after this match)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxS3DDO4CuY :4lucario: vs DrLuigi :4pacman:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdV02AdDjHg :4lucario: vs Megar :4sheik: (Megar said they had just picked up Sheik like the day before the tourney...I'm still a nub myself but I can safely say it was not a good idea trading out your main the day before for a new character xP)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apoJZ4uk3HI :4lucario: vs Megar :4megaman:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxrb-5RcFkU :4lucario: vs Kapus :4villagerf:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz0nN5o9tuo :4lucario: vs Kapus :4peach: (I didn't realize how much I hated Peach until after this and the following matches xP)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R313yrtsOSI :4lucario: vs Kapus :4peach: (nerves had set back in during this match; wasn't sure how to fight her. Very close.)

After fighting Kapus I advanced to Semifinals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Da0AUnDXY:4lucario: vs LX5 :4gaw: (don't play a lot of G&W's and was still shaking after my matches with Kapus so I started out rough on this one)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xrFQ9qoci0:4lucario: vs LX5 :4kirby:

Afterwards, it was time for the Finals, and would you believe it? Jesuiscontent managed to come all the way back. Shout out to him on that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ann3LFMBKdM :4lucario: vs Jesuiscontent :4dedede:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UORYaRoqnRY :4lucario: vs Jesuiscontent :4kirby: (this video has a lot of glitches and got cut off in the end after rendering :C sorry about that)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fHdPQXFngQ :4lucario: vs Jesuiscontent :4kirby: (the final match. This was a bit of an odd one; Jes and I both admitted we were full of jitters most of the match and so neither of us played our best xP)
Going back and watching my recordings, I'm not very satisfied with how I played - tourney nerves were strong for starters. I rolled too much, went for too many grabs, and didn't utilize my aerials or FP nearly as much as I had should have. Regardless, I'm just happy I won (especially since it was my first tourney) and hope to use these videos to learn from my mistakes.

if any 'Carios (or anyone in particular) would like to give me additional feedback that'd be cool c:

Yay, ended up winning COMEBACK II which was probably the most stacked tournament we've yet had in Finland! I didn't get that much singles material recorded but that's what happens when you don't drop a set! Here's the bracket if anyone's interested.

Singles
Winners Semis vs. :4villager:
Winners Finals vs. :4luigi:
Grand Finals vs. :4luigi:

Doubles
Winners R1 w/:4falcon: vs. :4lucas: / :4sonic:
Winners R2 w/:4falcon: vs. :4feroy: / :4falcon:
Winners R3 w/ :4falcon: vs. :4rob: / :4fox:
Winners Finals w/ :4falcon: / :4zss: vs. :4yoshi: / :4ganondorf:
Grand Finals w/ :4falcon: vs. :4mario: / :4ganondorf:

Haven't watched any of the videos yet myself so I have no idea how well I actually played.

(Also check out my sweet DK in Melee!)

Congrats Loota!
I know the villager player you fought in winners finals, I see him sometimes at tournaments.
