So remember when I mentioned once early September that SH > Fair > Nair wasn't do-able? I was wrong.:4lucario:

http://youtu.be/sV2z95qRNyI?t=6m47s

@6:47 RJ nails it. It literally looks like Nair is auto-cance-able, even more than Brawl Nair!

Here's the match:

Never ever ever take Zelda to Battlefield, strike, ban, w/e. In addition to if you miss a tech you're screwed... Her tech chasing abilities on the platforms are brutal. BF was like her best stage in Brawl as well I believe.

Anywho shofu did his 10 game run with Lucario. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb4WzDQ-FBY

Edit: Hey guys, to hold us over... I looked up Lucario's Japanese name and whaddya know there's quite a bit of Japanese players uploading stuff.

If you only watch one or two, it should probably be the Robin videos because they bootytickled me and I could use some advice there.

Lucario's worst Neutral stage has got to always been Battlefield (so easy to punish floaty characters like us), don't always land above someone.

Against Robin...Don't be overly reliant on Force Palm. It is not safe on block even around 100%. Be really careful with going on an offstage offensive since our air attacks are meh in this game.

Master Double Team as well. If your opponent throws put predictable moves like lots of Arcfire you can Double Team it. I think there may be even some frames where you can actually be hit by it and pull off a DT before the next hit of Arcfire comes out. I know I have done that at least once.

Aura Sphere can go through Arcfire as well. Robin's last hit of Arcfire does 4%. So, a fresh fully charged Aura Sphere when we are at 20% (Full Charge Fresh Aura Sphere does 13% damage) should always outprioritize it.

Would this also be a good place to post "help I like Lucario but don't understand what I'm doing wrong" videos?

Well either way, here are a few of my tournament matches:
Me (Lucario) VS Masterfisk (Lucina/Ness)
Me (Lucario/Sheik) VS Summer Heat (Little Mac)
Me (Lucario/ZSS) VS Shy Koopa (Bowser Jr.)
Me (Lucario) VS Pinky (Ness)

I did significantly better this week, but I found that I could reliably do better with ZSS (who I play a lot less) than with Lucario, at least against Kirby in Grand Finals (I'll post those soon). I feel like I'm missing something, any ideas what it could be (or tips in general)?

Thanks!

Won a wifi tournament yesterday. Lucario's feeling a little better to me. Here are some videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG2GTFItUN4 :4dk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I60LiBv42_Q :4darkpit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4nT9dScT34 :4sheik: :4greninja:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpK-aUswIp0 :4falcon: Winner's Finals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApngDCWCADA :4luigi: Grand Finals

Critiques are welcome! I toned down on spamming Force Palm at higher percents but I'm still trying to get the hang of knowing when to use Double Team. I'd recommend watching the Sheik/Greninja video (because I felt I was playing at my best there) and the Captain Falcon video (because I was playing... not at my worst, but at my most scared. Falcon's a bit of a beast in this game)

The one thing I learned from this tournament is that, if any of you go to a tourney that allows custom movesets, always always use Snagging Aura Sphere. That is a grossly overpowered move.

Here's a link to the bracket for reference: http://challonge.com/ATLCanSmash3DS

First Lucario mirror match ive had on FG that i remembered to save the damn replay for.
Dont know why, but i love mirror matches as lucario. This wasnt even a stalemate fight, we just couldnt hit each other cause we kept avoiding it so it lasted till time out. I probably would have won without sudden death but time suxxors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZf4yTy3bZU

Did learn a few things while watching this replay to record it. One is i do dash attacks too often lol...other is while Lucario's UpB is an awesome move it doesnt work against a Lucario charging his sphere. It worked at the end because i hit him before it grew at all, the other times i tried it was charging before i started coming at him so it got big enough to smack me before i got in.

Hello! Cross-posting these here for @ MythTrainerInfinity MythTrainerInfinity . ^_^ These were the 2 closest matches. (Infinity: if you'd like me to post more, let me know. I saved replays for pretty much all the matches).

Obviously I'm playing as Samus, and Infinity as Lucario.

I won the biggest tournament in the Canadian east coast last Sunday! Didn't even drop a set. Went all Lucario (with Snagging Aura Sphere). Check out the skillz I used to pay the billz here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRmXP1cqw-8 :4drmario: :rosalina:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqBU2ngO6Ek :4diddy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRS0WA5wPi4 :4falcon: Winner's Finals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqUQNCfHOZM :4falcon: :4miibrawl: Grand Finals

Contrary to last time, I think I performed strongest against Robin in these videos. Also, Captain Falcon is a pretty scary character to fight! That dash grab is crazy scary and I got hit by the utilt spike more than I really should have.

If you ever find yourself at a tourney that allows customs, use Snagging Aura Sphere.

Hey everybody, I made this account over this summer but have not been quite as active, so I thought this would be a good time to start posting more! I main Lucario and hope to be a damn good one in the future but, need help quite a bit.

I uploaded some replays from last night playing against my friend Teagap over at smash4friends.com. We played a couple dozen rounds, where he beat me consistently up until the last 4 or 5 set where I was getting close. I saved the three where I believed to me the closest. I can't post any links yet because of my post count, so I'll give you the last of the url:

/watch?v=HJTdgfATn38
This one I try to go after him off the stage, where he dodges me every time. You can see in the later videos I stay on the platform and not even bother. I'm not trying to spam AS, but that was almost my only option when he was off-stage. I also discovered down-smash so I look a little too trigger happy with that was well.

/watch?v=nS8oMP1RgGU
Not much I can say here other than I have directional problems and i'm not very good following up an attack from a throw.

/watch?v=36l32VovTD0
Same as the last one. I also can't seem to get nair to work and it always goes to dair or uair. A technical problem I can fix in training. (oh, and the part where I keep hanging on the ledge at around 3:35 in, I was trying to push him back with a side-b, but instead registered as an up-b... whoops)

If anyone could critique my matches, that would be awesome! I can't wait to partake in this community :)

First of all, you're getting a lot of good punishes with grabs, so keep that up. You don't use Force Palm grab when you can, though, and that's much more powerful; a number of times it would have killed, but instead you got a bit of pummel damage and an Fthrow.

Other than that, I feel like you should probably try to recover to the ledge more rather than attacking with UpB; this is a problem I have as well, and it's finally starting to haunt me as people are more used to the attack now. Recovering to the ledge with Lucario's UpB is rather difficult sometimes, because of the move's speed in combination with the Circle Pad Pro. I can't even count how many times I've SD'd doing that...

Certainly use the attack as a mixup, though!

I'll try and give more advice later; I only skimmed the videos

Here is a Japanese lucario player in winners final. Game 1 is solid, after that the lucario player kinda drops the ball. :(
I have a couple thoughts:

1. Fox trot is really good in the Shiek MU and Gomamugitya failed to use it. Shieks dash grab range is pretty poor and it pretty much punishes opponents for standing still, the same goes with bouncing fish.

2. Approaching with empty hop is not a good decsion most of the time in this MU. Just isn't...

3. At high percents DIing dthrow directly forward should be the dominant option. The Fair won't kill and the sheiks will always be looking for the quick upair kill. They pretty much are forced to otherwise they miss an opportunity where they could have killed lucario and now he just has more aura at his disposal.

Also, I feel like this Lucario needed to spotdodge more early on; the Sheik kept grabbing him because he liked to sit in shield. This is really bad against Sheik, as the best ways she has to kill are off grabs, if I remember correctly. Fthrow -> Bouncing Fish kills?
Also, how the heck is he that reliable with the B-reversal/wavebounce/etc shenanigans on the 3DS?! I can't pull that stuff off at all reliably with the Circle Pad...

Keep in mind, Japan also has access to a Cstick. So, they are able to do more than we can currently.

Who wants to watch me beat up a Robin and a Ganondorf?

ON THE WEE YOU VERSION???

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Syj2VqX1nU :4ganondorf:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDPImC5OQCo :4robinf:

Raziek and I have a long, storied history with each other in Brawl and it's looking like our habit of having hour-long Finals is going to continue with Smash 4!
Really loving those UThrow combos. Ganondorf looks scary to fight without the regular Aura Sphere, dat Ganoncide :x

Well done again on yet another victory.
