Nintendude is pretty much right. Iceys need 3 things. CGs, Desyncs, and Normal Combat. There has to be a balance between all of them. People just tend to leave out normal combat and Desyncs. People just have to realize what there doing wrong.
I totally agree with you guys, anyway in 1 week theres gonna be the first major brawl tourney in mtl, getting a few ontario people over here too, so i hope my ics will be successfull agaisnt em too.

Desynching isn't that important in most match-ups.

Desynching can put up a wall to protect yourself with. It also allows good approaches. The CG are good when for a quick finish or racking damage. But should be spaced correctly( I have this problem personally, I love to grab and leave myself open.) And normal combat is the reason why I lost to a mario today.

A MW circuit event is this saturday, with people such as Overswarm, Anther, Needle of Juntah, and DSF(!).

I'll be reppin' the IC's (and maybe some G&W+Marth, but mostly IC's). I usually place 3rdish at the tournament I go to where Anther and NOJ are at ><, so let's see how I do with all that talent.

I agree. I personally think that it's something like 65% general gameplay, 20% grab combos, 15% desynchs. I give grab combos a low percentage because you aren't gonna get those grabs if your overall gameplay sucks.

I also would like to know. I would really like to do doubles with IC but I don't know who would be the best character to go with them...
Well from my limited experience i would easely say rob. First of all, he can keep up with marth or meta, so those 2 matchups are alot easier. Also, his dsmash gives you time to cg because its pretty long and his gyro and laser can keep others off you while you cg too. He can easely save you with his upb from death, he has decent killing moves just like you, and he can survive pretty long. His dsmash allows you to follow up with uairs to upb which kills pretty heaftely/

EDIT: Miller btw im not like these people just popping up using ice climbers lol, ive used them from day 7 after brawl went out in mtl, i just never bothered to post about it in GTA/ice climbers section till now.

I played with a metaknight / ZSS player although he barely used ZSS during this tournament.

Ice Climbers are TERRIBLE in doubles. Don't even consider using them.
Ahah, easy statement to do, but actually i find them pretty good in double, simple fair dtrow cg cant be easely interrupted anyways its so fast. They got good killing blows and can easely work out with a good partner. You must have made presumptions, for ive won alot of doubles with ics, and they compensate exactly where rob needs it and the opposite is true too.

Okay, in doubles, team with another Iceys. Two Cgs going at once, how broken does it get?
That's a good idea xD, and it would work so well. I've solo chain grabbed a fox and a falco at the same time with both climbes in doubles, never thought about having 2 ICs chain grabbing at the same time though lol.

Well, I tied for 7th (right below DSF, Anther, Vidjogamer, and Kel) out of I believe 46 entrants?

It was a really big tournament with super good people, so I guess that makes me feel a little better.

I was playing as Icies the other day in team friendlies and they aren't t that bad. If someone is at about 110% it is an automatic kill if you grab them. Also, since there's more confusion your opponent will be even more frustrated when you chain grab him.

I have some interesting points to say about ICs in doubles:

First, when you grab someone and start chaining them one of two things may happen. Their ally might be too far away or too busy to help and you are free to rack up insane damage and maybe even a kill... Or, their ally will start rushing towards you. When that happens you need to quickly put your grabbed opponent between you and the free opponent (Use an alternating backthrow for that), after that, you can either throw the grabbed opponent on the free one, or smash/blizzard them both when they are close enough. This is really effective.

Second, IC's are alot harder to seperate in brawl and Nana is harder to gimp. Any time your opponents spend chasing your seperated Nana is time you spend double teaming the other palyer with your ally.

Third, alot of moves in the game, mainly throws, can be used by your ally to get one opponent pretty high in the sky while you grab combo the other.

And about ChuDat... Sadly, we havn't seen him owning in brawl like he did in melee (Yet?!).

Oh, another thing about ICs in doubles is that when you hit a free character with their repeated grab attack its annoying to get out of so if one of your opponents tries to rescue his friend from a chainthrow and he gets to close just mash that A button. (This can also be true for other characters... never tested)

I beat Sliq in pools.

I beat Omniswell, Samurai Panda, and then lost to Anther :(

Then I beat The Mann, and some other random pplz, and lost to Bloodhawk in a close as hell 2-1 match. : (

Oh wells though. What the hell though, Whenever i trounced someone with IC's, they would go MK, even though they'e neer played them! People are so desperate sometimes...

I was beating DSF's snake in 6 out of the 7 friendlies we played, so take that for what it's worth (nadda)

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone that came out for this. It was a great tournament and I hope everyone had fun. For next time we will try and get things done even faster so that there is more time for MM's/crew battles at the end. Hopefully the next one has an even bigger turnout than this one. We gave out over $1100 in cash, and I'm hoping the next one will be over $2000.

I will update this thread once I get the video of the Singles and Doubles finals up (compliments of MDK). The doubles final was epic (sry Plank and Neo ;))

Yeah, I looked at the brackets and he only beat one person :(.
After he said he wasn't impressed by my videos, I really wanted to see him own at a tournament :). I was sad seeing his placement :(. We all have our bad days though so meh. I recently placed 5th, which is the lowest I've placed in Texas since the first months of the game :( :( :(. I won my last tournament though :)!

Step it up millar :)!

Yeah, but they only got some of my diddy and G&W though :(. They didn't record the grand finals, or other matches with my ICs :(. And there was a 5 grab limit that tournament as well lol.
