The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Nearly 10 years later and it's still underrated. What the hell? Sure MM is short,(not to mention you only have 72 hours AKA 3 day time limit before the moon destroys everything) but that's why there's tons of side quests. I personally enjoyed doing every optional thing the game had to offer. It makes the games last longer and the rewards are worth the effort. The characterization was IMO well done. It made the NPCs more believable. If you haven't played Majora's Mask yet, do yourself a favor and buy it from VC(Virtual Console). You won't regret it.:)
I'm playing MM right now and if you really think it's short you're crazy. In terms of dungeons, yes.

But the side quests...they are endless. In my opinion it's longer and harder than Ocarina of Time. I'm currently doing the Anju sidequest... and I just messed up, meaning I have to re-do it + do it again for a bottle. The side quests are so long and hard, there is no way this is a short game for a completionist.

Ignore me, I skimmed your post. You agree on the sidequests too xD.

You could call any Zelda game other than OOT and A Link to the Past underrated to some regard simply because some Zelda fans are so asinine.

I'd say Killer 7, Eternal Darkness, and Guilty Gear.

If anyone has ever heard of them, Id say the Luminous Arc series was fairly underrated.

My favorite underrated games would probably be AeroGuage for the N64 (one of my favorite race games ever), Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 (I haven't played that one for the DS, so I can't really include it), and Yoshi's Island for SNES (deserves much more praise as a platformer).

Not all Zelda fans. And GG is for the win.

Anyone hear of Baten Kaitos? The better version of the Tales Games, less cliche, etc, and it took SKILL TO PLAY.

Also, Lost Kingdoms / II.

Spiderman. PS1/N64.

Great game. So great that when the PS2 came out, I thought Spiderman on the PS2 would the same.

It wasn't.

...

Lame.

Something about that game was amazing, idk if it was how smoothly the battles ran with the cards or if it was the incredibly random plot twists lol.
This. I loved the plot. Made the "Tales" Series look like crap.

Egad. Why the bad rep for the Tales series? I enjoyed them thoroughly.
Tales is actually one of my favorite series. I actually even import a lot of the games whenever I can or have money. My favorite is Tales of Destiny for the PS2. I'm just saying that I always look forward to the battle system and the characters more than the actual story.

You guys misunderstand me, I loved the Tale's series. I actually liked the storyline too. It was just Baten Kaitos was so much better and it was overshadowed by that series of games Namco made.

Beyond Good and Evil:

Greatest $10 bargain bin pick-up EVER.

BlazBlue:

IMO, it really got overshadowed by Street Fighter IV, so not a whole lotta people bought this kick-*** fighter.

And last and not least:

Billy Mother Frackin' Hatcher

Majoras Mask is a thing of beauty, good work! I love that game so much.

I have gotten 100% everything done in both OoT and MM without guides, no joke.

As far as under rated games go I think this one is mine.

The part I loved most was the fact you could mix up the vehicles, each with their own benefits and flaws. Also the fact that there was bosses was pretty awesome, each one was unique they were tough enough sometimes too. Then there was the side quests to unlock the secret characters which were also pretty tough. All the tracks were pretty **** good as well.Cheats made multiplayer insanely fun too if you were into that.

Seriously under rated racer.

Anyone here ever play this and unlock TT?

When I was 9 or so that was MY GAME. No one could beat me at it. Dude... that game was epicccccc. I played it a lot, but I don't know what TT is.

It would've been so much more successful is SMK64 wasn't so good.

Diddy Kong Racing 4 life. Those multiplayer battle arena levels were so awesome. It has an awesome awesome single player mode as well. Plus Hovercrafts and Planes!? I like it more than SMK64 honestly.

Oh my god I found people who love this game!

I think Icicle Mountain was one of the best arenas for pure battle.

Also TT was a really hard to unlock character that required you to beat his ghost in time trial mode on every level.

He was so **** good though.

Did any of you guys beat adventure 2?

Was that a JRPG? Dang I've never heard of it, looks nice though.

And ^, do you mean Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, or some Diddy Kong thing I misread?

I wasn't able to get my hands on Threads of Fate. I heard it was pretty good. I wanted to get it.

Some other underrated games that might've been mentioned here are:

Guilty Gear
Dragon Quest V
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
Melty Blood
Klonoa
Mega Man Battle Network
Brave Fencer Musashi
Kirby Canvas Curse

Oh yeah, once you finished Adventure 100% in Diddy Kong Racing you opened up adventure 2 which involved you having to collect silver balloons as well as winning the races. The courses were mirrored too.

In my opinion, these are the only good J-RPGs ever made. Unfortunately, every critic in the business seems to disagree.

I don't know what exactly is a JRPG;
ToF is a 3D/platform/RPG, but you must play it to know what I'm talking about. =)

It sounds like Crystal Chronicles, so yes it is a JRPG. JRPG is a level up, fighting, sometimes turn based game where you level up and etc. See: Final Fantasy.

must.... fight.... urge.... to start... arguing.....

Okay, so on topic: Am I the only one who thinks that Kirby's Air Ride gets way to much hate for such a fun game?

Man, Air Ride was so much fun. I remember people choosing it over Smash Bros. at a few parties I've brought it to. It's a shame that it got so many bad reviews, almost all of which boil down to "it isn't Mario Kart or F-Zero so it sucks."

EDIT: Oh hey, Threads of Fate. I know that game. I've never played it though.

Kirby Air Ride, Puyo Puyo 7, Muramasa The Demon Blade, and Blue Dragon are the games I can think of.

Oh yea, Mario Strikers Charged.
