I agree with this as well.

My buddy let me play his old copy of Goldeneye on his N64...

I found it boring honestly. It may be because I've been spoiled by MW2 or simply because this game DOES SEEM legitimately boring to me...

Also, even though they treat Halo like the god of video games, I hate the series

Here is my issue. My first RTS was Wolfenstein. My second was Doom, then Unreal and Quake. By the time Goldeneye came out, I'd played better. Then, 1998, a year after it came out, Starsiege: Tribes literally changed my perspective on FPSes. Tribes, where Halo got the idea for vehicles since a lot of people working on Tribes went to Bungie, boasted 32-man death matches and team matches. A year after was Unreal Tournament.

Yeah, Goldeneye was just a poorly drawn FPS with super slow mechanics, and a halfway decent control system.

Goldeneye was my first fps, but I really wasn't into FPS. I'm not a big Halo fan, and Killzone is okay, but Metroid is what brought me into FPS. I like FPA and 3rd person more. XD I'm really liking Lost Planet 2. Also, I get bashed for it EVERYWHERE, but I like Samus' suit more than Master Chiefs.

Yeah, and Melee wasn't supposed to be a competitive fighter. How do you not realize this when the whole competitive scene is based off of banning most of the game mechanics and exploiting glitches?

Brawl is more was Sakurai was trying to do with every game.
I never said it was.

lol since when did brawl become such a sensitive issue?

Halo Wars. You know, the RTS game of the Halo franchise.

Looking back at it, it wasn't a really poor game for Ensemble to go out with a bang with, but having played it a fair amount since its release, I don't really like it that much now. The factions are horribly imbalanced, to the point that multiplayer matches are played almost exclusively with leader unit spamming (you will NOT win otherwise), and the story is nothing to gawk at.

I just wasn't that impressed with the story line- I wasn't pulled in by the characters at all (Basch and Balthier a tad but ehh). I like The Final Fantasy games because they usually have great stories. I kept at this game though cause I liked the idea of the License Board (till you fill it up, another fail), the hunts, and the battle system- I think that's why after I beat the game I was just meh about it.

All I got to say is Farmville... and I don't even have a Facebook
You forget Mafia Wars. It's so god**** easy to win it. I mean, I have several hundred billions of dollars from having several hundred casinos (or whichever one is the one that gives you the highest amount of cash, I haven't played in a long time, so I've forgotten)

I love Brawl, but I still find it a bit underwhelming. I remember drooling over the Dojo every morning, thinking about how great and shiney I pictured Melee 2.0 would be. Sure, it didn't turn out as I hoped, but it's still a blast to play. Just... not perfect, which I thought it would be.

Super Paper Mario was really, REALLY underwhelming. The gameplay was meh, the new chracaters looked like random stacks of geometric shapes, the story was meh, and the plot twist that appeared to blow so many people's minds (from what I saw) wasn't much more than an "Oh, huh. I guess that makes sense."

SPM was underwhelming, but I still like the game. It's definitely the worst of the 3 Paper Mario's, but I don't really think it's all that bad. The characters were meh, besides the villains...Bleck, Dimentio, and Mr. L were all really awesome characters. Even the dragons were cool. So was playing as Bowser. That made the game for me right there...

Spore - They masqueraded the extreme limits of the game by saying you could create whatever you wanted. Yeah, true, but the game is still...linear and....boring.

SoulSilver- Don't get me wrong. Pokemon = sexwin, but SS was just like...more of the same. Especially because the "featured 2nd generation" Pokemon were thrown at us in games like Emerald (safari zone) and FireRed/LeafGreen (Sevii Islands) that it just didn't hold my attention after I had completed the main game.

Modern Warfare 2: I just couldn't get into the online play. It seemed really nice; the titles and all that crap, but the levels were bland and I just didn't get as excited as the first one.

Final Fantasy XIII: I was only disappointed in such a lack of post-storyline gameplay.

Pokemon Sapphire/Emerald: The most forgotten gen, it just didn't stick with me like the others did.

(an oddball out there lol) Jak 3: Jak and Daxter and Jak 2 were so freakin' good, but I was S disappointed with the third one. :(

There's more, but these are the ones that stuck out.

super mario galaxy: after i beat bowser (final) the game got boring REALLY fast.

Amazing Island: the create your monster looked good but it was WAY TO F***ING SHORT!

Lord of the Rings: Conquest: gameplay gets stale too fast

Cod MW2: online p***ed the living hell out of me.

red steel: i've heard of the hype, tried it, ended up ragequitting the game.

i'll think of more later.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: The character and pokemon designs just didn't satisfy me as much as the first 3 generations did, and the music wasn't as memorable to me. The midi-based (rather than 8-bit chiptune like the first three generations) cries for the new pokemon just didn't feel the same as the square, triangle, sine waves, and white/pink noise of the others . . . .

I love all three of the Jak and Daxter games. speaking of it, I might try to run through all three of them again.

There is this Game on PS2 called Siren that i think is impossible to beat if you never played a game like it before

JUMPER.....do i really have to tell you that this game was horrible

Brawl - I wasn't expecting Melee 2.0, but more of an evolution like I considered Melee to be of 64. I felt that there was more quantity than quality with this game. That and making things boring.

Twilight Princess - For whatever reason, the 3D Zelda finally dawned on me and made the game a lot easier. Then the lack of voice acting. It felt like a lot of scenes could've been enhanced with it instead of just seeing text and random mouth motions.

BlazBlue - I didn't enjoy much of the characters' playstyles aside from Noel and Taokaka

Bioshock - I heard about the morality aspect of this game and was expecting something pretty novel. I only got maybe a quarter way through before I got bored.

Muramasa - It's not a bad game, it's just I don't like the backtracking as much as I would be okay with it in Metroid.

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon - I find it a little boring. Of course, I hear that this Fire Emblem has much fewer features than other Fire Emblems so this may be why.

Pokemon Platinum - Since I'm not a competitive player, I can't appreciate the finer details that much. Felt similar to the other games other wise.

You know, given that we're on a Smash Brothers forum.

Seriously though, BlazBlue = win. That's some solid game play right there, even if I do want to punch Jin/Vu mains.

The ending to SMG2.

Game was good, so why couldn't they make the ending worth getting to?

Wario Land Shake it was also extremely underwhelming.

is that an insult?
Ummm, no?

I expected MW2 to be AMAZING, GROUND-BREAKING, NEAR-PERFECT FPS, but it wasn't. All around, not a bad game, but not the best. Multiplayer is just terrible - host advantage, terrible hit detection, people glitching online, 10th prestige hackers, just regular hackers, gay campers.

Campaign though, not bad.

blazblue ct- after playing gg then later experiencing fist of the north star, this was bad. my main gripes were the balancing, combos that take forever, and the poor burst system. at least cs fixed most of these issues

sonic heroes and adventure 2- adventure 1 was the ****, these two just weren't as fun as 1 (every 3d sonic past this SUCKED)

twilight princess- so easy it turned bad

monster hunter tri- i was expecting it more to be like pso. i might try to play it again when i'm not lazy

Yeah, the ending in SMG2 just didn't do it for me, either. My friend loves Wario Land: Shake It. I've never played it, so I don't have an opinion on it...

Am I the only one who wasn't impressed with Sin and Punishment? After hearing a ton of good stuff about it I downloaded it only to find outdated game play, confusing story (that gets praise for some reason) and a very brief game.

Woah, RE4, really? If anything, RE5 was the major letdown. I have yet to see a person not like RE4, I'm gonna have to hear an explanation on this one.

I was initially extremely let down by the game and didn't even finish it until they ported it to Wii.

My main problems stemmed from the fact that it is barely recognizable as a Resident Evil game, which used to be one of my favorite franchises around. It was almost never scary in the least. It was ridiculously easy and Leon is more like some kind of Rambo baddass.

It's a fun game though, I gotta admit. Especially the wii version, with the IR aiming. But it's just...not Resident Evil. I'm kinda mad at it just because it changed the series to something completely different.

Super Paper Mario.

Everyone kept going on about how awesome this game was. I played it for about 10 minutes and hated it. The game sucks. It feels nothing like a Paper Mario game.
