gettin older is the foshizzle.

i love being able to drive, do what i want, and so on...

poor people that are still younger than 16
Getting older is only good up to a certain point. Being able to drive is nice, but having to do things other than playing Cops & Robbers blows.

I would trade my driver's license for a trike any day.

Fine I would like to change my answer to inventor so I can invent a time machine, go back in time so I can tell myself not to waste my life inventing a time machine and since I haven't even attempted to build one as of yet I can only assume I was successful.

dude gettin older is so awesome. more responsibility comes with more fun. like having a family. that would be way flippen fun. little kids are fun to be around and i would imagine that once they are your own they are that much cooler.

At first I wanted to pump gas, then I wanted to be a geetar player, then I wanted to be a teacher. Finally when I was 16 I decided to be a lawyer. 7 years of law school later, here I am.

You must not have lived through your childhood properly. Those are absolutely the best days of your life.

Less responsibilities = less to worry about = more time for fun. It's math.

Plus, when you're a kid, more things make you happy. When I was a kid, a friend of mine could pose the activity of Tag, and EVERYONE would want to play. We literally just had fun chasing each other. No one suggests that anymore. And if someone did, I'd probably be busy doing something else.

As you get older, more and more of your time gets spent doing things you don't want to do, and you become harder to please. I consider this fact.

Also, I can't imagine raising a family is fun. I understand that plenty of people naturally want to have kids for some reason, but I don't see how you could view it as a fun thing to do. It's not a game. When you have kids, I'm sure you'll love them to death, but when they scream and cry and poop and act out, you won't be enjoying yourself.

At age 5, I wanted to be a fire fighter. Later in life I realised I'm not to fond of running into burning buildings...

Around age 10, I wanted to become an architect. I was a big fan of building things out of my Legos and K'nex. Then my creative side just disappeared over the years.

And now at Age 16, I plan on becoming an accountant. I'm amazing with numbers and I thought that this would be a great future job for me. I also want to keep a bit of professional gamer on the side. Just attending tourneys and such is fun.

A Dentist. Sure, eight years of medical school is going to suck, but when all I have to do is make small talk and look at people's mouths for the rest of my life, it'd be pretty **** worth it. Not to mention the five day work week and the 100k+ a year.

You have no idea how much I wanted to post "I want to be Zook when I grow up!

Dude lol ive come through this epiphany after months of going to get my braces tightened....ALL THE DENTISTS DO IS SOME DIRTY WORK , while listening to music with the ac on. Not to mention if your the leader of your little group all you do is mention stuff and order your peeps around and boom done for work and a big *** pay check is coming up

When I was a in my early teenage years, I started noticing that I'm pretty sympathetic to other peoples problems and issues, be it physical or mental. This mindset of mine evolved and expanded over the years leading me to show interest in the fields of dentistry, human resources, and psychology. As of today, I'm more leaning to become a psychiatrist, as I believe communication more so directly affects ones physical state at a mental level. " A sound mind resides in a sound body, " is basically what I'm trying to say.

President, or a Supreme Court Justice. But realistically I dont really care, as long as I dont have to work too long and too hard I can be pretty happy, if its doing something I enjoy, like arguing its a plus, but I can tolerate pretty much any job if I dont have to exert myself and can make a living only working about 40 hours tops a week.

3 years is worse. Exactly why dentistry = not even an option.

Maybe an optometrist or something.

I don't know. I mean, I've been told by various authorities that the key to being a successful writer doesn't necessarily lie in going to uni/college. I feel like I've learned more about writing from my fellow writers here than I would at Uni.

That's not to say that it's not valuable. I've looked at some of the creative writing courses and they look like they offer a lot of useful stuff in terms of both technique and industry related dealings, but I think it's better if I just keep trying to refine my technique on my own and stay involved in Australia's writing scene.

I'm a member of Express Media, who runs writing competitions and workshops all over Australia, and being a member gives me a discount on attending them. I also get stuff like magazines mailed to me :p

When i was younger i thought being a trashman would be fun. But then i learned that job makes you feel down in the dumps.

Then i wanted to be a plumber. But after a while that makes u feel kinda crappy.

Then i wanted to be an eye doctor. But i couldnt SEE myself doing that.

I almost settled on being an author, but the pay was nothing to write home about.

Somebody told me if i worked hard enough i could be an actor, but i couldnt get my act together.

Chef maybe? Nah too big of a couch potato.

So i settled on PC tech, but i wanted to lay the MAC down.

I went to school to be a doctor, but i couldnt stomach it.

And to be a vet, but i couldnt bear it.

So what do you guys think?

I'm kinda torn. Game designer, animator, Comic book writer, or Roboticist. It's too hard to choose. Heck, I'll probably try and be all 4. I can dream, right?

I have to agree with Mini Mic. If you really want your job to be writing, then you have to be 110% into it. Most published authors (and almost all famous ones) devoted significant time to studying writing in college.

If you're like me and writing is only a hobby (that is, you want to be published, but you don't want it to be your primary source of income), then what you're doing is fine.

As for me, I wanted to be an engineer when I was a kid, because I thought that engineers drove starships, like how Geordi la Forge did on Star Trek. When I got older and learned the truth, I decided I wanted to be a history teacher. I should have stuck with engineering though.

I've always liked to do random voices... kinda lead me to see how fun it would be being a voice actor could be. Going to school to learn of the Graphic Arts. Interactive stuff mostly.

I like competing as well though. It would be mad fun if I had a chance to get to go train to go amateur mma or even boxing.

Ah, that's a fair point.

I guess this is why I am studying IT. Because it seems like a more feasible career path (Plus it tides my dad over >.>) I'm not sure he'd be thrilled with me deciding to put all my eggs into becoming a writer.

I bet voice acting is a hard career to "break into" as they say.

Meaning known voice actors get it all, up-and-coming ones get... e-surance commercials.

As much as I would like not growing up, I'd have to face facts and realize I already am. When I was younger, I wanted to do lots of things. I also wanted to either act or direct films. Unfortunately for me, I've learned that it's really hard to get into, plus I have Asian parents who expect me to do other things. I still want to be involved with film or television in some way. Maybe trying voice acting would be fun. Still, I know it's really hard to get into and I'd need some sort of backup plan...which I'll figure out sometime.

I've secretly wanted to be a voice actor for a long time now.... but eh, it's one of those things I wish I could do but don't want to put all my time into making it happen.

I've wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember, though. Going to veterinary school in the next two years... so excited!!
