This event defied my expectations, we got a little more than 20 people coming in and playing in a 5 round swiss tournament. We even got some vets back for this one with Hozart, Doc 13, Angry Lobster and XYZ making appearances.

Hungrybox : Thanks for making it I know you had alot to do with moving in all but I'm glad you could come chill before you left to UF. Gonna miss having you so close Juan. Love you man, GL in gainesville

Colbol: Doing most of the TO jank, really appreciate it dawg hope you help me out at Advent too! swiss is nastee right?!

Skrach: No lie bro, you play link better than anyone else I've played in the state. You come in with absolutely no fear its crazy. I need to play you a ton before I stop being scared of you. Plz come to the next one man

Zero: Scariest match of the day, you should have won, I got real lucky. You were playing very smart and you were frustrating me. I swear I won't ever get you and fearz confused again.

SwordDancer: Stepped up for me and brought pengie, I really appreciate it and also thanks for bringing a setup and having perfect attendance. We need more guys like you.

Everyone do me a favor though and bring some cubes/melee next time so we can get more games going 7 setups is good but we can do better

I think it was very effective for our first attempt

I still need to test it for larger scale events. Hoping at least 30 make it to a MNM before ADVENT. We ran a 20 man swiss with a SE bracket (hbox was leaving so we cut it short) with 7 tvs in 4 hours. Colbol and Vericz took over the TOing when I was playing but it basically ran very smoothly. Only difficulty is that without TIO you might have to do manual seeding for round 1 (which I don't think is required) and also manually checking which tvs are free instead of having the stations being tracked by TIO.

I'm still wondering whether or not doubles should be done with swiss or just DE like always for ADVENT. Let me know what you all think. 5 Round for 12-16 teams doesn't sound that harsh.

We got similiar numbers for attendance but the people were mostly different. Not everyone can make every single one but if people alternate we can get good 20 man events every week or more. Keep it up guys and thanks so much for bringing cubes this time!

zoro i didn't give up
plup just made me realize that i was lacking a big aspect of my play so i was focusing on that rather than my tried and true methods of playing samus
sorry if i didn't perform up to expectations but i need to work on some other forms of play before i become to set in my old habits
don't consider this a john, this was a playstyle that i felt could be effective if i learned it better, so i tried that in todays tournament, it didn't work out as well as my other playstyle, but i am still going to progress in it so for the time being i am at this level until i become better w/ this playstyle

good to play with you all as always, can't wait for next monday

No, I'm wrecking that right now. Whoever placed higher in swiss will be higher in the final placings. I think it's more accurate.

I don't understand what you meant about darksonic

I'll change the placings but I know I personally hate tying. The people that placed higher but tied in bracket deserved their spot because they beat the harder players.

It's a good thing to discuss because I want to get this right for ADVENT, I don't want people crying during the tournament. I'll do the normal DE placings if it makes more sense but I kind of like it this way. Makes every match more important.
