my favorite part of smash is that EVERY single newcomer who has never competed in the scene thinks they are really really good (and several people who have been around for a while and are still ****)

Yeah, first person to come to mind with this is Elton :p He was like "oh my mum is going to wonder where all this money i win is coming from", I proceed to 3-stock his main with C. Falcon and he never returns. Its fun when they come to their first tourney and see how much they still have to learn :)

Mostly every one thinks they are "really really good" , you get that every where. Who knows, they actually might be really really good, just because they havn't posted on smashboards before or much doesn't show their skill and talent.

whilst that would be a valid point, its coming from someone with no experiance.

unfortunatly kid, skill and talent, whilst being important, dont make up for lack of experiance, plain and simple, I've seen it a thousand times.

if your bad, you get *****.
if your good, you get ***** but improve quickly after that.

smash is a much deeper game then it appears.

Well I know at least myself will be going to Waicon, not many of us will be going due to hating cosplay, RFlan, being lazy, etc
Who the hell hates cosplay? I respect anyone who's made the effort to cosplay.

@Attila: I'm well aware of that but watching a match that times out gets the point across better than a compilation of general brawl gayness imo. Whatever floats your boat I guess :)

Could someone give me a bit of a rundown of waicon? When/where is it? Is it just like supernova?
It's Saturday week, goes for two days. It's like Supernova but not as big.

Waicon specialises in weeaboo nerdism, Supernova covers a larger range of nerdism.

Oh and Waicon normally runs a few gaming tournaments with horrible rule sets.

I've been debating with the Wai-Con game organizer via Facebook. Despite letting SSFIV players bring their own PS3 controllers and Arcade sticks, he's not allowing Brawl players to bring their own Gamecube Controllers or Wii Remotes based on the logic that it takes too long to set up.

That's utter bull. It takes like 5 seconds to sync a Wii remote. I don't have a PS3 but I assume you have to sync the controller as well? He's said on the Wai-Con forums before that he hates brawl and thinks it's a crappy game that holds no competitive merits and he's only doing Brawl this year because it's been popular in the past. So he is being biased.

Any who, he's pissed me off, especially with the convos on FB so if he's in the gaming room and if he even gives me a look then there will be a real life brawl going on.

Lucky no one cares what your opinion is then ;)

Go back to the Vic thread, you might be some what relevant there.

By Supernova np but. Once I've escaped this **** hole and I'm back in Perth training for a fight, **** will be easy.

Trav I expect some Tager/Potemkin action, and Pete we either need Hazama or Eddie cranking ^_^

edit: Easterners used to be more fun to troll, now they get whiney. I want Luke back in our thread!

Sorry for the double but I didn't read this before.

Ninja bro, you can't reason with the Waicon people about rulesets. It's been the same useless **** organising it at every Waicon event since I've been going to them. They just don't care.

Last Waicon it was single elim single game SF4 and 4 minute all items on 5 stock free for alls in brawl. My advice is don't take it too seriously and don't get too worked up, because we've all tried banging our head on that brick wall before and it hasn't worked out for any of us.

Surely if we have like 10+ people complaining(I have quite a few on my pokemon forums) about how the guy is organizing and handling things, the wai-con committee will appoint someone else. The tournaments are for the people, not for this one particular guy who's biased.

@Mic, I doubt it man :p I'm lazy
@Ninjadead, Well the thing is Waicon is very unorganised at the best of times, I doubt they'd change someone who's got everything almost set up at the last minute.
