I should hopefully be able to make it to the tourney on Sunday, so I will hopefully see you all there! I'm still pretty crap with my Yoshi though, haven't played Brawl in a while.

Bloody hell, I hate NoA.

Fun fact - typing Smashboards Australia into Mozilla's address bar sends you not to the Australian forum, but to the Outhouse now. Isn't that exciting?

Anyway, to everyone that's considering not coming to doubles because they don't have a partner, be aware that there are probably others in the same boat and thus you can team up on the day. If the worst happens and you're the odd one out, you can still team up with a LVL9 computer of your choice, so you won't miss out! Make the most of your venue fee ;)

If anyone's been to gametraders could you please find out about the brawl/street fighter/tekken tournament they have advertised on the tekken machine? We should really be getting people to the event to promote our tournaments and stuff. I would go but you know my parents, I'm not allowed to go out twice on a weekend :p The poster said to 'search for game-geddon on facebook' or something along those lines but me, richard and jesse have found nothing.

Much appreciated :)

EDIT: I also don't like how the perth threads are at the bottom of the page now :( I know you can change the setting but newcomers who are looking for the perth threads now have to scroll to the bottom :p

Alright I just called Gametraders and asked for details about the Game-Geddon event thing, and Dalmesh said that the event is at Gametraders. I forgot to ask about a ruleset and I can't be bothered calling again :p Also, I asked about the facebook page and he said that there were issues with getting it up XD

But yeah since it's at Gametraders and I'll be at the state library on Saturday (assuming dad isn't lame) I'm gonna pop in for some Brawl and Street Fighter. I know Trav is attending as well. Is there anyone else that can come along? It would be good to have an adult to talk about our scene (looking at Buff/Mic/Jesse/Bob/Andre) to potential newcomers, despite Trav's sexiness.

I've got work on Saturday Arvo, so it depends on how early Brawl starts regarding whether or not I can go. If not, I'm gonna give you guys Mailing List Signup Sheets to hand out so that we can get their e-mails to notify them of future tournaments. We should've done this at Supernova but alas, time-travel hasn't been invented yet :p

I'm sure if I go, I can stand there looking authoritative while Trav swoons them, or I can take care of the mums IYKWIM ;)

I automatically assumed you had work on Saturday, otherwise I would've mentioned you Marteh :p

Everyone should confirm their attendance for Afternoon Delight (which imo is a silly name for a tourney lol) on the facebook event so we can get a good guage for numbers.

Or you could lose a ****-tonne of self esteem by losing to noobs :p

Anyway 11AM sounds doable. Question is do I take private or public transport... Hrmmmmmm.........

I don't remember saying that. I must have been drugged, or as Poirot would have it, I drugged myself to fool the authorities.

I love Poirot. Best show on television.

Hey Sammy, how'd you go at Robocop? I heard you got two stocked by a 9th rank Sydney player.

EDIT: So someone edited the Mailing List with this:

Guy from uni who might be interested~Mic - delshard@gmail.com
Assuming it wasn't by accident, I'll add him to the list :p

Hmm the place I get haircuts charges like $40 lol but I'm kinda conscious about my hair nowadays so I'm willing to pay that. He specialises in asian style ^_^

Maybe you should check out KThreeG, it's in northbridge very close to the brass monkey. I haven't been there but I've heard pretty good things of it. It's run by asians and I'm not sure what they charge.

If you just want a barber I know there's one in carillon city for sure, pretty sure it's next to Morning Glory (the Kpop/Domo store).

Guys I won't be coming to afternoon delight =( I planned on it but I have to go up north for the weekend... I've been getting a lot of game time in, im still hanging around low tier so don't expect anything great at the the next one =P I've rekindled on old passion playing heaps of magic (better than munchkin!!) but i'll be back into brawl heaps soon.. Oh, and 'Afternoon Delight' may attract the odd guy in a trenchcoat and sunnies with a neck beard so advertise sharply >_> haha take care all, oh btw vlade, whats the song on your channel playing in the vs corpse (snake) match-up? cheers

Wasn't a moderator meant to switch the tournament listings thread from me to Jesse_? Also lol at specialising in asian style, it's just hair dude_

Braddles_ I think Pete already fits your description so one more neck bearded lady might make him feel less out of place_

It's not just hair dude, hair is an art :)

I'm apparently a mod of the australia boards now so I updated the title of the tourney listings thread, but I don't know how to switch the ownership of a thread. I know Mic gave me ownership of this thread so it'd be best to ask him.

So Perth, remember when you did the whole 4 Zeldas in 48 Hours thing? There were talks of competing with Sydney in the same thing, but it never ended up happening. A few of us in Sydney are interested in organising something like that again and actually doing it this time (we're all hyped to do Metroid though, but generally willing to do Zelda if that matters).

Who's interested?

Ask Marteh. But we're already planning to do it in conjunction with the US team on December 21st I think, so you can probs join in :)

EDIT: It's zelda btw

@Brad: sorry to hear it dude, but there'll be more tournaments from December onwards definitely. Other than that hit me up for some squash again dude! I haven't played in yonks and would love a few games before I go back to Uni next year x_x

Im happy to do more speed runs on things once we get it sorted. atm were tryna work out where to have the 4/48 due to net or space issues. I also think it was the 20th but will confirm tonight. If i can get better net we can arrange metroid for another time, thinking of it maybe its time for a majoras test run

Marteh/Vlade - Sounds good, which Zelda games are you going to be running, I'm assuming the 3D console ones? Confirm that date for us and we'll see what we can do, personally I'm happy to push back Metroid as long as we are able to do it at some point over the christmas break. You'll also need to brief us on what kinds of tricks are good to use too. But yeah, sounds good.

Well it wasn't based on anything anyone else had done, but we were talking about doing the "main" 8 Metroids, those being Zero Mission, Metroid II, Super Metroid, the console Primes, Fusion and Other M. Honestly though, they really can be blitzed, 48 hours is probably lots more than necessary. Good thing we're all inexperienced speedrunners haha, at least over here. :p

Yeah, 4/48 means Four 3D Zelda games in 48 hours

So that's Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, WindWaker and Twilight Princess. You can play them on any console (i.e. you can play OoT on N64 OR Gamecube)

EDIT: For the record we didn't finish them all in 48 hours last time because no-one knew how to finish Twilight Princess XD We'll manage it this year though I'm sure. I'm so hyped for it :D

Other thing is time skips are allowed but no major ones, such as you need to get all the medallions in OOT but the Ganon trial skips are allowed.

If we're talking super speed running.

Metroid Zero Mission - 40 mins
Metroid II - 1hr 30 mins
Super Metroid - 45 mins
Metroid Fusion - 1hr 10 mins
Metroid Prime - 2 hours
Metroid Prime 2 - 2 hours
Metroid Prime 3 - 3 hours
Other M - 2 Hours 30 mins

Total = 13 hours 55 mins, easily under 48 hours :p

I guess the metroid challenge should be 8/16 :)
