Also I won the rights to Marty's name in Marth ditto's :)
Well I can John my way out of it, I can say I've been playing bad (which I feel I have..Maybe thats just me) but I lost fair and square, so for now on I am MFZB until I fix this issue.

As for secondaries and CP's, they are pretty necessary to play I find which makes people question why Sonic is my second when all his match up's Marth has better..Well simply, Marth sucks at FD and Smashville (apart from against MK), while Sonic has a much better match up on those levels.

Jupz: Trav and I had a MM for Duelist Pro

First Match I survived to like over 500% for one stock because I just kept on teching my C4s (which seemed pretty inhuman at that %). It was just awesome coz I haven't ever teched so well in my life before lol

On the topic of squat quick budget check...If my centrelink claims get through quick then,
$240 a fortnight, board is 50 so that's $190 a fortnight, travel costs is $10 if I only go to tafe and back, so $180.
So basically thats $360 in a month, which with a little extra more would pay for fares. By the time the tourney comes round or half way through thatd be $540, which would pay for the basics. Then I could most likely get a loan from my parents which would be enough.

So guess it depends on if I get centrelink and when payments start...

Anyone else know about Utilitarianism?
It's the greatest good of the greatest number, right???

PROS:
- Life threatening situations: the more people that survive, the quicker the rate of reproduction and therefore the quicker civilisation is rebuilt...
- Life threatening situations: obviously the less people that die, the less people are affected by the death...
- Life threatening situations: the police have less work to do with less deaths (cynical, but hey :p)... Also, less spots in society needed to be filled again (strains resources)
- The more people that can be satisfied, the more willing they are to help you in return (therefore if you help 10 people, you have 10 people that are more willing to help you, which is better than having one person :p)
- Capitalism is also founded on Utalitarianist theory (not really, but some strong undeniable ties at its roots :p) - the more people you keep happy (with quality and pricing schemes) the more likely it is that they will buy from you in future/refer to their friends, which in turn increases their own profits... (If you're writing a creative piece on this, threaten the readers that a vote against Utalitarianism is a vote for Communism, and then try for all types of war imagery and such :p)

Okay, well a couple of those points are a bit dicey but I'm assuming this is an English essay, which means the majority of your essay should be droning on about one thing or another regardless :p

Anyway, thanks again Andre for hosting today :p I had fun, except for that one match where I kept Side-B'ing with Fox when I meant to side-A T.T Lucas dittos are hilarious xD So much lag XD

I think my dad'll come through if I introduce him to Bob next tournament. He's saying no at the moment, since he's convinced I'll get mugged/*****/killed, so I figure he needs to meet some more of the people going.

Heh Marteh i thought you liked a good challenge_

Tails i noticed your comments on trying to avoid counterpicks and while this may be good in regards to learning your character better, eventually you will need counterpick stages and characters regardless if you like it or not_ The truth is that some characters have matchups that are either near impossible or too hard to waste time using a character that has a serious disadvantage_

I main Shiek for example, but some characters i will not use her purely on the matchup or personal counterpicks i feel will be more beneficial_ IC is a straight 'no' to using Shiek because i know i will lose the majority of the time_

The advantage of having a counterpick stage/ character will boost your chances by turning a disadvantaged matchup into an advantageous one_ Unfortunately as Link you are going to feel alot of pressure in many matchups because of his large disadvantages_ It will work into your advantage to accept your characters flaws and work with as much as you possibly can, but know when your better option is a stage or character change (or both)_ You'll learn who plays what character through tournaments, but knowing your matchups, counterpicks and character flaws ultimately make you stronger_

Don't be fooled into feeling that choosing a secondary character is a sign of weakness if you choose a character who needs support_ It only makes you a stronger gamer_
yeah excelent point mate, although i love using Link i do seem to struggle sometimes depending what im up against, also if im not playing to full potential, cause usually i just get slack and just muck about. dont ask why.

i really really want to use Link, as much as i can. but i dont think im entirely ready yet and im not sure what im up against, so right now im edging towards either/both Samus &/or Shiek.

i really want to know where im ranked in Western Australia, so this way i can be more set minded to reaching my goal. do you reckon after this tournament there would be like a ranking list for WA? that'd be sweet (L)

and yeah counter picking stages is a really bonus to be if i get the stage i like, i use the wii-mote and nun-chuk configuration so some stages are alot harder with that configuration, not to say i havent been using this controller type for under a month ive actually been using it for over 8 months now (:

cheers all!

There is a wa ranking list_ It can be found in the Perth Tournament Listings thread_

I don't think Graeme is coming to SQUAT anymore guys_ If anyone needs to know about accommodation, i am staying at a dude named DJCat for a few days before me an Babbs are on our own_ If anyone wants his email regarding accommodation, PM me or even PM him yourself_ I can't guarantee that he has room etc_

Guys, I know this may sadden some of you (Marty in particular), and I'm very sorry for it, but, as of today, I no longer main Captain Falcon. He will remain my 'for fun' secondary character, and also my doubles character with Andy, but for serious games in singles and with Luigi, I'll now play Ike and Weegee. I'm sorry for any mental disturbance this may cause.

Typo! Sentence is invalid! you must keep maining him now.
One day, when I am good enough as a player, I will return to Falcon and embrace him with open arms. At the moment, though, I get gimped far too easily, and am letting him down.

And at the above post, they call us 'Toon Link players'. :p

Exam's are on for those of us in school and anyone who would normally be willing to attend is probably going to SQUAT which is going to send all of us going bankrupt.

Wow just looked at flights and it looks like it's about $500 per person! I'm willing to call around and see if we can get discounts for groups of people or something but can someone else help me look for cheap flights/accommodation.

Book with Jetstar and sleep the entire time? Its not like anyone eats aeroplane food, anyway.

EDIT: Can't find Perth to Brisbane, but Perth to Cairns is 209 AUD on Jetstar.

I know a better game then duelist pro:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSAo0f3-vqs

Although that person is doing it wrong. I made the good version on it in my wii and you are alot to jump in the middle but only to get a cracker launcher then you have to go back to your side.

Cracker Launcher game > Duelist pro :p

Expect my confirmation for squat either tonight or tomorrow

Trav could you please type out an estimation of the costs for the various things as reference?

Duelist is the best mini game by far :D

So, just to clarify, Bob and Kane won't be staying with 'the main group', right? Can't believe Bob, choosing sex over Brawling for 4 days straight. Sickening, really.

EDIT: Maybe someone should start a thread so important posts of our organization don't get lost in tides of nothing.

SQUAT costs

Flights:

Perth - Brisbane = $240
Brisbane - Perth = $240
Total = $480

Accommodation:

4 bedroom hotel room (can fit more I'd say we could get 6 easy) = $175 per night
Assuming there's 5 of us that equals out to $35 each
So 5 days = $175

SQUAT itself = $35 (assuming entry for both days and Brawl singles+doubles)

Overall = $690+Food

All prices subject to change depending on if we can find things cheaper. staying shorter/longer etc.

You could book out of the hotel on the last day and save some money from that. But thats only if your plane is taking off that night, but if it is then you can just hang somewhere till the flight arrives.
