Thanks to every one for coming yesterday, turned into a really fun day.
Due to having such a good attendance we decided to have a tow tier tourney which ended up being epic fun. We used the same rules as our normal format ie double elim best of 3 counter picks etc. Only differences is we didn't play best of 5 games and by the end I couldn't be arsed whining for a second set in the grand final lol.
So here are the results of...
NOT In My House! 1
1st - Ric (Pokemon Trainer and some others)
2nd - Roman (Mario)
3rd - Trillest (Luigi)
4th - Trav (Bowser)
5th - Muzga (Jiggs)
5th - Nasch (Ness and Peach)
7th -Mic (Pokemon Trainer)
7th - Marteh (Sonic)
9th - Jupz (Samus) <--Had to leave early so wasnt trying vert hard in his second match

Well done to Ric on coming from losers and taking revenge after our first set.

Well personally I enjoyed the Smash fest quite a lot. Bet you're scared of my 1337 bowser skills now aren't you?
Only issue is Kwinana - Clarkson = Not easy.
And everyones going to hate these next words I mutter. I may not be able to come to the tourney, as everyone knows I'm jobless, and parents = income. But I have a few plans this week so financial issues may kick in...

I'm about to ring the arena, I don't want to book it unless I'm sure were gonna have enough people to pay the venue fee. Will your friends still be able to come?

Yeah I would of stayed longer, but I slept like absolute crap the day earlier. Just realised, I spent like $9 on travel money and $6 on food.

Ex, Ric and Proxy are equal 3rd...Hence for some reason it only displays Proxy.....

Yay, 4 new people joined the scene.
I might be keeping it down to 5 dollars if we can get the winners club (250 dollars for the day), but captains is 300.
If its 10 dollars for singles, Trav will have to find someone else to help pay for Lvl 9 Wigi's entrance.

Nah really I don't mind. Marth is obviously better and more tourney viable so I would go with him. Marth still stays good once the other player has learned the matchup. But I would just stay MK lol. I'm surprised you've returned from the dark side

I'm disgusted to see nobody even played C.Falcon at this apparently 'low tier' tournament which involved Luigi_ This is clearly an injustice and should be dealt with swiftly and during a mid air knee to the groin_
Do you mean DiddyKong or DonkeyKong_? It would be great to have a Marth on the scene (other than Marty), seeing i need the practise for vsing Shaya_ Otherwise i generally recommend Diddy due to his all rounded awsomeness_
If you can pull off top placings using the Donkey then i tip my hat to you_

I was going to introduce myself on the Global Intro/Greetings thread but apparently it's closing or something??? Well, that's what the sticky said, anyways So, here I am, injecting myself into a 4xx page long topic... (And no, I haven't most of the other 400 or so pages... I'll get around to it when I get a month to kill :D)
Anyway, Marth was my first main melee character, after I figured out how to (ab)use Jigglypuff to the full I was quite devastated when Jiggles got the nerfing stick for Brawl... I mean, I knew why, but still was quite cut T.T So, I guess I wouldn't be too bad with Marth in Brawl (though I prefer Ike TBH)...
Question: if the AI did win, wouldn't the moneys just go to refreshments???

Yeah sorry bout that, a few people did use the Captain, but no one really used him for the majority of the tourney so I didn't give credit
I meant Donkey Kong, and after testing the water with him against a few players on sunday I know I would still palce well with him. Having said that I prefer Marths match ups :D I like both characters because they have steepish learning curves (esp marth) but once you get the hang of it you own. I think I'll play both of them till Sunday and just play who I feel more confident.
Thing is with madigraknight, against my usual practise partners, if I consistently use him I pretty much just **** face. Thing is I like ****** face but doing it with Meta makes me feel kinda dirty, where as doing it with DK or Marth would be more epic.
I'll always have him (mk) there as a universal counter (lol) and an anti Jupz if I play DK

also kane/bob i know this is a huge ask but could one of you guys bring your laptop to the tournament? i dont have one to run TIO on, but i could always do it at home then write down the bracket and bring it in on sunday. however it would be harder, and i wouldnt have sams little program that deals with the money.
