Though this is a good match, I don't see this as a visual example on how to do the MU, considering anyone could post a top level matchup of mango(or any pro really) beating anyone's character and be like "this is how you beat X character with Y character"

Colbol doesn't seem to do anything out of the ordinary in this matchup. Care to go into more detail on what he did especially right?

For all the people who say don't challenge Falco's shield pressure notice how Colbol shines out of his shield vs shield pressure pritty much everytime.

but he lost...

i think colbol just went for to many unnecessarily risky edgeguards and messed up quite a bit and that could have cost him. w/e tho i guss thats his style.

there is still much to learn from these videos
both players know the matchup very well
exactly how i feel. these vids are useful for either side of the matchup

@steezy ill give you 2 lil cuties

col bol knows how to edgeguard with ftilt, which is overlooked alot considering how good it is
he drills instead of nair cuz its harder for falco to CC shine

dair has more priority than nair, and if they sdi out they can't shine you. the range is negligible as fox uses his speed more-so than his range

By "harder" you mean "impossible" right? Crouch cancelling reduces hitstun, to the point where immediate retaliation after taking a hit becomes possible. Dair crushes CCing because it doesn't provide any stun for the opponent to cancel. It always works.

The matches were alright. Shiz is a bit rust and Colbol was doing random **** and failing edge-guards..: /

Colbol is capable of showing us how to play the MU from Fox's perspective, but lets not start with these matches.

yeah i agree. TBH i felt like colbol was playing better but trying to show off/do random stupid stuff instead of focusing on the W.

CC-> shine works as falco if fox tries to dair->grab though right?

Long-winded explanation:

Correct. The time in between a complete dair -> grab is so small almost the entire cast can't do anything about it. By the time your opponent is out of dair hitstun, you're already grabbing.

Dair grab is only a true combos on certain characters (Jiggs, Samus I think), because the last hit causes them to slide backwards with more stun than usual. On everyone else, they simply don't have a move fast enough to escape the grab. Roll is too slow, sidestep usually is too.

Only a couple of moves can stop it. Rest is one of them, but unless you're okay with missing and losing a stock, I wouldn't suggest it. The others are shine, and bowser's upB.

Its unsafe to drillgrab Falco because of shine spammy opponent's. Losing a stock to that **** doesn't feel good in the slightest. I'd only suggest throwing it out if you think they're going to shield.
