Get a SD card that is less than 2gb, but at least 1gb. Make sure theres nothing on the SD card, and delete all custom maps on you wii
download this: http://projectm.dantarion.com/pminstaller.exe
install the hackless wii full set onto your SD card (wifi version doesnt allow you to buffer attacks on your c-stick, but lets you save replays)
put the sd card into your wii
open brawl then stage builder
gecko os will launch, then click launch game
then u play
this is all on the site

It's not.

So step 1 is actually obtain a copy of NTSC Brawl.

PM works if you have a copy of NTSC copy of brawl on cd or on usb loader.

If you don't have an NTSC Wii, then yes. Since homebrew is required to run NTSC copies of brawl. Pal and NTSC brawl have completely different coding I think, so making a pal project M would be too difficult.

question about project m... so i need a ntsc ssbb image, which is fine, but the sd card has to be 2gb or less? if thats the case, it wont fit. do i need an external hd or something?

You need a 2gb or less non-HDHC SD card, as ssbb was not designed to read anything larger (and HDHC doesn't fit). If it doesnt fit im pretty sure you need a new one
