Made a big mistake and forfeited to try and get into top 8 in SSFIV...

I lost that match and came 9th, and lost by default in melee. Lose Lose

I found the whole experience interesting. It was annoying I had to leave early but the party was worth it ;) .

The team format was pretty fun and new to me. The points system in the singles were annoying though because I can only play Fox. It was good versing some of you who had a genuine intrest in 64 and were reasonably good.

Thanks Redact for letting me follow you around. Thanks cao for organizing me and the whole thing. Thanks Dekar for being the least threatening, whitest kid I've ever seen. And thankyou to those two guys that names I didn't quite catch for the games.

Had lots of fun on Saturday, especially playing N64 again, if people are keen I'd be really into monthly 64 tourneys, I can bring setups for it if need be.

I assume Robsta is the youngish looking dude getting schooled at melee by Redact? ha

If so, had fun playing 64 with ya, practice up and maybe, just maybe, we can take a stock of Atticus

I play other games that aren't brawl

I play SF3, Redact plays BB, Atticus plays 64 smash, Forte plays SC2, Plasia plays SF3/4, a bunch of us play TF2. Do you want me to keep going Tibby boy? =D

Yeah those 64 games and inpecticular that one melee game was awesome.

In regards to Atticus, I've only played him online and we're pretty evenly matched at 64. Melee though sounds like a whole other story.

The 2010 season has finished and it won't be until February or March next year when the new season starts. I'll leave open to discussion the things you would like to see improved or introduced into the next season. This could be things like setup/layout, reintroduction of a points based system, or opposing that, an increased amount of random/causal formats, ideas on outreach/community support -- just a few ideas to get your heads ticking.

Smash at CW won't change unless you guys put forward proposals for me to consider and action.

Criticisms are welcomed.

Timic: I'm more than happy to expand stage choices, if not for your own experience, then at least for fun.

Deks: I think in order for Ranbats to work, it needs to have value added to it -- perhaps come up with season-long prize plan, where points allow you to battle for a large cash prize at the end of the year. This proposal however, would dimishish payouts at regular tournaments.

For example:
Withhold the average Melee singles pot of $110 every month.
The final Ranbat would have an average of $1100 total prize pool, which will be contested by Melburnians (unless OOS attends enough to garner enough points, etc)

Random events that replace regular singles, such as Atyeo, hypothetically would still count.

Thoughts?

I like the sound of that.
So for the final mothly we could have an 8 man bracket, seeded by ranbat points.
Or 16 man bracket, with top 8 already in and seeded by ranbats, with everyone else fighting for other 8 spots.

I think instead of having no monthly prize pool every month, perhaps it would be better to continue with monthly prize pools and have the final monthly prize as a pot + a trophy/medal and even possibly a prize from sponsors or something (i think the SF guys do this?).

Then again I like the idea of one big tournament for the final month however... especially with only top 8 point getters competing in the finals bracket. certainly gives the ranbat points (and in turn attendance and consitant performance) more value.

it's all good i'm sure you'll work sumthin out dave lol

im keen for halved pots -> bigger end of year payout for rankings/final tourney or something

either way, needs some motivation for consistent placement/play

Do it like MLG; top 8 over the season get seeded in the bracket, everyone else fights for the other 8 spots, and the winner gets $12,500.

Hmm, that's double the cost of entering Melee, not the best idea to pull in numbers imo.

unban wobbling, i mean dashizwiz (falco, is favour match) nearly beat wobbles at recent tourny with wobbling on, he was just being too offensive

srsly since that aint happening, make sure every tourny from now on uses stage striking round 1, randoms with 1 ban is just dumb so many times

randoms with 1 ban is just for people who cbf stage striking and for crews sometimes...
if you want to stage strike timic, you're always entitled to

Tibs I'd gladly introduce everyone to THE Ike...but everyone wants my cash and uses Snake so screw them.
I just want Pokestadium back. As if in any way that stage is less biased than some of the other crap that's considered fine.

People don't really take doubles that seriously for obvious reasons, maybe we could do fun random doubles rules every month?

Flatzone bombs on high for instances.

I kinda like seeing how you guys adapt to the crazy setting and use all your tech skill and ingenuity to get the upper hand.

Perhaps people could put up ideas here before the monthlies and we vote on them.

Seems like an Ok way to keep things interesting and fun, yet still retain the serious competition.

the only reason doubles is usually not serious is because there's no pot
otherwise it's every bit as competitive as singles imo

not going here again -- the move is too unpopular with our players

larry - we won't have random events every month, i thikn we'll jusat bum them in as regular events stagnate -- i can try preempt this though :)
