heh my last activity was a year and 4 months ago. i'll try and come to a future meet with a bit more skill next time. i think it was wed or thurs night that i played melee for the first time in the year and a bit since i disappeared.
inability to wavedash well and forgetting how to do the fox matchup hurt lol

very impressed at the overall level of people now though, the difference between the top and the rest isn't such a huge gap anymore.

I contacted Unlucky before the monthly, said he couldn't go =/

Anyway the monthly was fun, played badly though =/

Shaz: I want a fox ditto next time >=D, good to see you again man

Forte: We were actually not as bad of a team as I thought we would have been, it was a bit shaky at the start but we did good towards the end =)

Tibs: I'll beat you next monthly, need to remember about the cape gimps =(

Em: Good matches against Dekar, third strike fail was funny though

Vermy: Awesome guy, very entertaining lol

Attila: Love how you refer to the lentil food place as the "free food" place XD Play more melee and become amazing like Tibs =D

Earl: So good at both games, I feel sorry for the people who underestimate you in melee


Also on another note, I think adjusting the entry fee for melee may be a good idea, so many people didn't enter due to them not wanting to pay $5 just to get beaten twice. I'm not saying this is going to happen regardless, but if more people enter that just want to play, the better chance of people actually having decent matches against each other due to similar skill level.

Yeah I think I played a lot better due to 10mins of everyday just working on tech skill. Or I just played a lot of friendlies with who I could. Some memorable moments.

Luigi is major fun Luke, the priority for his neutral a-air (aka sex kick) is amazing as well as his down-b. Thing is though, he pretty much cannot recover.

Fox is amazing but takes time (But his cuteness is worth it <3)

Depends on how much effort you put into it. I've been playing for ages (minus the haitus) and still suck with Fox LOL! Half *** secondaries. I'm still terrible with Sheik too =(.

That also means the newbies aren't earning their way. The PR players have paid their dues and are next to guaranteed to beat the person they come up against first round. No point in putting them against anybody until "stronger" opponents have gone deeper into the bracket.

lol dont be a noob, noob.
the good players earn their way to the top by placing highest in pools, which is usually the base for the seeding, and if you did it your way you'd end up with like the top 4 players playing each other right at the start, which is dumb (but its happened before many times in melbourne, lololol l2seed melbourne)

long story short, no your idea is stupid.

you realise that if we didnt get byes, we would have to knock out someone early instead, and then people who deserve to be knocked out early will end up at higher ranks than they should be

also if bad players get byes, they will only end up playing good players, since the people they face will end up being players who have at least won 1 game

im pretty sure surgi you would rather play someone that you might be able to beat first off, rather than someone like cao or dekar, and im pretty sure the other newer players would be like this too

getting stomped in the first game you play isnt very entertaining
