I am thinking about running an independent tournament over the summer break in January/February sometime. It would be of a less serious, more lighthearted nature and would introduce some new varieties of competitive play. Possibilities include Character Striking, Scrambled Eggs, Low Tier, Select Items tournaments.

Any thoughts on what we can do and when to hold this? As long as suggestions are different to the usual tournament formula, I will be in favour of it.

Ranbat season generally starts up at the end of Feb.

Mid-Late Jan for this "Alternative" Tourney would be optimum imo. Sunday the 24th of Jan would be perfect.

As for something different, a couple months back we did my idea of Random Crews after singles. During which, where both people select Random characters and get 1 character strike each. I think Random singles could work. Give people a chance to show how diversely they know Brawl. And I'll put 4v4 Crews up for an idea again. People seem to like the idea, and it hasn't been done since Don't Come.

And if you need help with this Cao, I'm more than happy to offer my assistance. =)

Scrambled eggs is doubles, except the teams are randomly chosen for each round, so you team with a different person each time.

how about a Melee tournament... but when you get knocked into losers bracket, you have to play Brawl matches?

Until the grand finals, where the two players have to agree, or maybe change game each match.

Pretty Pro IMO, and with the right set up it would work.

but yeah for now 5 or so people should come over. this will mostly be melee btw.
