A few things about this monthly:

I will be far less lenient this time around with dq's. Far too many people wasted everyones time last month and it really got out of hand.

Brawl and Melee will be a little different this time around as the what the flux characters will not be selectable. Why? Why not?

Brawl: MK, Snake, Dedede, Falco.

Melee: Fox, Falco, Sheik, Peach, Marth.

This isn't a regular thing- just something that will give those who wish to try out characers that aren't quite as safe and spammable the chance to do so freely. It also should serve as a good chance for everyone to gain some new experience

Please everyone make sure you show up on time also.....many late comers last time which held things up. The sooner we start the more we can fit in.

It's a temp ban, much like some Texas tournaments or in New York where there is an unwritten honour system of not using Metaknight. It's only purpose is to focus character development elsewhere and make the game more fun if you look at the big picture.

I believe that it's a temporary ban, in order to freshen up the melee and brawl tournies.

Give it a try, and then give your opinion. I think that some will enjoy it a lot.

G&W ***** nearly everyone else except for Marth <3. R.O.B. does well against a lot of the high tiers and below too.

MK is getting the ban for future Texas Majors, and the Southwest region in general is starting to ban him. Apparently their last big tournament had MK take all 3 places (M2K, Azen, Lee) and the community got really angry. Of course, this ban means TX is the current black sheep of the US scene, but whilst the rest of the nation drowns in a sea of unfun tournies, these guys are looking forward to enjoying themselves, so I think the global community has started to reach the turning point.

Anyway, I'm interested why GAW isn't banned too - that thin little **** is CHEAP!

Why do I get the feeling that a tonne of the negativity of Brawl is now being pinned on MK? I don't know about the U.S, but having people who play MK here in tourneys doesn't seem to make it unfun?

I saw that flight yesterday. Once I buy the ticket does that mean I can use it whenever I want or is there a specified time frame in which I have to use it in? I wanna go back to Sydney every now and then to see my big bro along with my friends that I haven't seen for 10 years! sigh america sigh. If there's a Sydney tournament as well I might attend it but I want someone else to come with me.

How many smashers actually main MK in Australia anyways? I know Chris does and maybe Kulla (not sure if he mains snake or mk or both) but that's about it. Oh wait there's one really important person I forgot. The sole reason why we are banning MK.

It's a temp ban like mentioned.
With any luck it will get us playing other characters a little more decently.

If you want the reason G&W isn't banned....it's because he hasn't been spam winning our monthlies...nor has Robot, Wario etc.....if there's another character I'm looking at banning it's Pit, but I haven't because it hasn't exactly been a show of Pit powering through with chain grabs, king tilts or god-speed for the win rather than Jei just outplaying those he's beaten.
SO to clarify, I'm not saying the banned characters don't take skill, just that I want to see that skill redirected for one event...because as it is it's hard to believe Brawl has nearly 40 characters.

Cobalt - Yeah I noticed the characters in question seem to be those you use. Oh well, you're a good player and a clever guy so you'll be one more person demonstrating a lesser used characters potential

Personally I knuckle down and try beat the cheap bugger. That said I've had numerous complaints about him from others :\
