C.

I'm 50/50 on whether or not FE:TH will get a character, so I'll side with the negative to make room for a completely different character. (You all know who it is.)

I also don't think we'll get Joker gameplay in a Direct. I think we'll just get it in its own video since they already actually made the announcement before.

FE7 (Blazing Blade, Known as just Fire Emblem in the West) was the first western FE game and is a good starting point, it introduces you to the majority of the integral mechanics of the series.

FE8 (The Sacred Stones) is very similar to FE7, but it’s easier and has grinding so if you feel behind you can get some extra levels. They’re both GBA games and are on the Wii U Virtual Console.

Another more relevant choice is Awakening, since it was made to be beginner friendly and has Casual mode (your units don’t permadie).

A almost certainly, and C i think is quite likely - erdrick's been floating around with insiders for a while, and the fact that he was packaged in with joker's files at launch suggests to me they're both around the same point in development

But honestly, I don't think Edelgard has a realistic chance. Rex wasn't considered due to being too new, and Edelgard's game didn't even come out yet. The only precedent for making a character despite time restraints is with Pokemon, which is literally the biggest media franchise in the world iirc

To be fair Fire Emblem has also had special treatment before but having said that, I'm expected to be bombarded with all the ways it doesn't count.

"Special treatment" is just lucky release dates, to be honest.

What kind of special treatment? Besides number of reps obviously. I don't think FE has gotten something as special as a character despite time restrictions

Even if “Brave” isn’t Erdrick or Eight, the doors for them in Smash won’t be closed yet.
They will only become impossible to get in the game when Sakurai directly says so.

So we should all remember that whoever gets in won’t kick certain picks from Smash
The people involved on the Steve vs Banjo dramas should learn this for once, tbh.

I agree, with one caveat: If you play Blazing Sword after a different Fire Emblem and are emulating, then get a save file that allows you to access Lyn Hard Mode.

Because the game doesn't let you skip the tutorial, and Lyn Hard Mode is the version of the Lyn story without the tutorial.

Otherwise you should consider playing FE7 first, so that the tutorial parts aren't super frustrating.
