Just use "Human", no one can be offended by calling someone else "Human", right?

:ultpiranha:

"...O-Oh hey Piranha Plant..."

"N..No. Put that down! No..NO!"

Difference is that "dear" and "sweetie" can come off as condescending. It's what you use with children after all. If a person isn't several years my elder, I'd be insulted if they called me that.

"Dude" and "bro" at least come off as if both participants are on equal footing.

You have your right to not be called things. I was just trying to clarify something.
Well, that's not how I use them. But whatever, I can just go back to being an obnoxious jerk who respects no one since it's clear I at least didn't make anyone feel creeped out there.

Well, if I'm using them as general conversation terms than clearly I'm not using them in an affectionate way.

I have my own terms for dealing with my partner. I don't use those words like that. It's how I talk, and frankly, it's how I've always liked talking. I just didn't use it because I was afraid of it sounding "gay."

Well, I finally had accepted it as a part of my transformation, but whatever.
If it helps, I don’t mind you using “sweetie” and “dear”.

In fact, I wish that people used kind words like those two more.

Your not an obnoxious jerk. The sarcasm really isn't needed.
Unless you aren't and I look like a butt rn

“Cutie” and “sweetie” don’t sound bad, tbh.
I really like it when people say nice words without any harm like those two instead of insults or things that annoy others.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I used to be an obnoxious jerk and I hate that part of myself. I want it to die like the rest of the old me.

I've been hard at work trying to atone for myself and change myself for the better. I really thought accepting my way of referring to others was an improvement. I'm not using them in condescending or affectionate ways, but I guess that I've creeped people out, so I'm just gonna go away for awhile.

Hey, I wasn't trying to **** on ya or anything like that.

I don't think anyone had their feelings hurt. You didn't hurt anyone's feelings.

Kind of a random thing, and no disrespect against Melee and it’s fans, but there was a tweet the other day that characterized why I myself don’t care as much about the game itself and find some do it’s fans as...pretentious.

This user basically tweeted about how their viewership was setting records for Genesis and what not, and then followed it up with “Melee is still the greatest game ever made!”

Like cool, you’re passionate. But for some people to say the Melee community doesn’t prop itself up or seem full of itself...yikes.

I played Melee casually for like over 1000 hours when I was a kid. Over time, i’ve realized that while it’s a good game for it’s time and what it is, there are problems I have with it.

I personally prefer Ultimate simply because of content and the balance of the game. I don’t think any other Smash compares to it.
As fun as Melee is, I prefer Ultimate as well. I personally was never into some of Melee's tech and thought that the cast balance was not really great considering how only like 5 characters in the whole roster were viable. Not to mention several things I've recently learned being outright broken (and not in a good way) like Kirby's throws and G&W's shield.

I will also agree on the balancing; it feels incredible in Ultimate. Like, I haven't really played anyone that feels outright bad apart from maybe characters like Bowser Jr., Kirby, and Little Mac needing some buffs. Even the heavies feel like they can actually put up a fight for once in the right hands, it's insane.

is it sacrilege if i think the overall tempo and feel of this remix would fit smash more than the original

It's a crime that he isn't involved in the Palutena's Guidance conversations
Why isn't this guy in the game aside from being a spirit too?

AT Trophy is the least you could give him. Or Classic Mode boss.

Capybara Gaming Capybara Gaming look partner, no one thinks you're creepy or obnoxious. Some people just feel differently about being called dear or sweetie by people who aren't family or significant others or something. You don't have to leave, and you can call me dear if you want! Just consider how others might feel.

Keeping a list of people who can and cannot be called things is way too much effort. I shouldn't have to do a cross reference when I'm posting.

Forget it, I just won't call anyone anything from here on out.

1. Who's your favorite video game villain?

2. What makes a villain likable for you?

3. What makes a villain unlikable for you?

4. What kind of villain do you like the best? The intimidating type, the goofy type, the genius type, the sad type, etc.

5. Is there a villain trope you want to see being used more or that you are getting bored of?

Hmm...

1: I don't have one really, though KI Hades is okay, though Eggman is okay too within reason.

2: One who respects his/her adversaries if possible. Isn't super serious, but is shown to be potentially smart and/or funny in a way. As a bonus, I'd want to see em not be afraid to get their hands dirty, and always rely on servants/pets to do their job. A tactical genius is also good, as well as a decent backstory.
Another bonus is if the villain actually cares for his/her allies/troops enough that he/she wouldn't mind saving them.

3: The generic "backstab your allies/army to get stronger" kinds, ones with stories that are always about generic revenge, that rely on servants/minions too much and don't fight directly often. Some that are only revealed at the end of the whole fight/war kinda things does get boring sometimes, but that's more common in games rather than anime... I think.

4: Usually those that combine intimidation with smarts, a bit of humor, or a combination among them. As I said before, a villain who admires/respects his/her adversary is rare, and needs more love. Bonus points if said villain, if he/she loses, doesn't always get angry, but rather, admires the strength of the opponent.

5: I want to see more smart villains in a way, but also those who don't mind being out in the front lines, and those who'd actually rescue their allies without certain selfishness.

I hope I did this right...

As the oldest person currently in this thread.

Everyone involved in the debacle needs to take a step back and chill. There was no malice either way.

As non-politically correct as I usually am, at the very least, people should be conscious about how they address others, this goes both ways.

I have a lot of respect for someone like Sabrina for doing what they're doing, but I think both sides need to just cool their heads.

There's no malice involved, but at the same time, both sides need to respect each other's wishes.

1. mr jin xenoblade and mr egil xenoblade and mr ganondorf oot/ww

2. Make their reasons and motivations understandable and sympathetic

3. However, do NOT redeem the villain too much if they do a ton of douchey ****. If they murdered the main protag's best childhood friend that they were close to for years then don't make the main protag just forgive him when the villain does like one thing right

4. Intimidating and sad go hand in hand for me. I like a bit of charm to them if the game isn't serious, like Bowser in Mario Odyssey. He was charming and funny as hell while also decently intimidating for a Mario game

5. I'm tired of the "girl villain who is super smart and calculating and does everything right and also sometimes has a whip and always wears a skimpy outfit" type villain, like the one that people obviously make as dominatrix bait

One of my favorite villains of all time (though not from a video game) is Villanelle from Killing Eve. She's just a stupid dummy who's also kinda psycho, and the **** she does it hilarious but she's also incredibly, incredibly scary and terrifying at times. She's not just a perfect villain, she's also a gopd example of how to do a female villain right. They don't all have to be dom bait.
