Three Houses is supposed to be coming out around spring of this year, the DLC doesn't end til February 2020.

If this circumstance made Corrin eligible, I don't see why it wouldn't for any other character

Sakurai can add characters before their game is out, since development is a long process.

Not that I think her chances are high. On the contrary, it gets annoying when people treat her like a lock, like she's not even a lock among the characters in her game.

Also I’m kind of confused. I know people are always talking about tempering expectations but people are jumping to Edelgard, who in the minds of a majority of people is a worst case scenario character, as soon as her voice actor says she’s in a game that MIGHT be Smash.
No other possibilities, nope, it HAS to be this promotional character. Remember when I baited people here and one guy said I was “aggressively anti-hyping”
Cause that’s what you guys are doing. And if you ARE hyped for Edelgard, well that’s fine.

TBH if Rex couldn't be added because he's too new I can't see Edelguard being added. I mean yeah, there's precedent for it, for Pokemon. Pokemon is a whoooole different story from FE.

I misunderstood. I thought her tweet was the one with all the Smash references. Now that I’ve been redirected I realize how much we’re jumping the gun.

Technically 7 SE characters were leaked by Verge, he thinks Erdrick is the most likely out of them since he heard his name the most but it could be any of them

IIRC they were Erdrick, Sephiroth, Sora, Geno, Crono, Slime, and Luminary

Mythra got a redesign to help her get in the game that makes no sense in 2D.

You'd leave the spirit name alone and make the fighter spirit name Shantae (Shantae: Half Genie Hero), just like Bayonetta's fighter spirits.

If a FE were to be chosen, the positive reaction Edelgard got from last year's E3 could definitely make them choose her over the others if she's at least in a Lord role(which definitely seems to be the case).
I still think Hector or Anna are the safest and most profitable picks they could make in terms of FE characters though.

I go back and forth on whether or not I'm okay with more FE in Smash. Some days I'm alright with the idea, and then there are days I consider it almost has as many characters as Pokemon and that's honestly kind of ridiculous to me. Granted, I know why there are so many: FE is big in Japan, the characters are incredibly easy to make considering three of them are based on another character, the movesets write themselves and it brings in the animu money.

Before anyone gives me flack for saying these things: I like FE. I really do. But the amount of attention it's received in Smash gets a little old sometimes, especially when one considers franchises like Kirby and stinkin' Zelda got left out again for newcomers. This isn't about "reps" for me either: I simply would like more variety this go around. If another FE character happens, I will welcome them as long as they are fun to play, but it would honestly go down as one of the safest and most boring things Smash has ever done for me. All I ask is that some other franchises get some love.
