Let’s be real. It’s probably not Shantae. Aside from the fact that I am not really interested in the character, and I haven’t played her games, I cannot conceivably see Shantae lining up next to who we have.

Sure, Shovel Knight is an Assist Trophy, and his game isn’t popular in Japan. Despite that, Shovel Knight is an Assist Trophy while Shantae is not. Even if you like the idea of Shantae, you have to admit that among the character that could be picked, she’s nowhere near a big name.

Considering this particular VA has voiced female Erdrick, and we have it on good authority that Erdrick is in the game, I would think that the logical conclusion is that yes, she’s voicing female Erdrick.

I don’t want to be a snob with 3rd parties, but in my humble opinion there are a good handful of 3rd parties that should be in before any Indie character, regardless of gameplay potential.

I wouldn’t be against Edelgard persay, but I firmly believe they should go for expanding the Smash umbrella, with new series that add All-Star value.

Regardless, Shantae just really seems to appeal and sometimes pander to the "unironic waifu crowd." I'd argue her games are great and I'm a conservative horndog but even I have to admit that every female in the game having a large rack (unless they are a child) is a little demeaning.
