Hmm, the stuff in the Direct looks cool. The things in 3D World being exclusive is a tad disappointing, but it’s better that they’re there than not at all, as it still looks like they’ll make for plenty of new options.

Online Multiplayer looks pretty silly and fun, although I’ve seen it pointed out that it appears that online multiplayer is with randoms only (we don’t know for sure, but that seems to be the implication.) Furthermore, the local friends play doesn’t even appear to let you pick locally saved levels; the host needs to be connected to the internet in order to download random levels. I don’t really play online matches with friends much so this doesn’t affect me personally as much, but I can definitely see a lot of people being disappointed by it and it’ll prevent a lot of really fun scenarios from happening.

Nighttime gimmicks are cool and, again, it’s better that they exist than not, but I think they should’ve been implemented as “level modifications” or something that are displayed to the player on level load, so that they can be mixed and matched with any theme.

So... how much are you actually gonna get out of this game if you don't have online?

You can basically build/play your own courses and do the pre-created courses and... that's pretty much it.

Honestly, since I pretty much have to buy Online to get the full experience, I'm kinda less inclined to buy it.
I'm being serious here. In Mario Maker, I spent more time playing other people's courses instead of making my own.

But since MM2 pretty much has that part locked behind a paywall (which I not paying for rn)... is it worth it for me to even get the game?

I don't have a ton to say, i'm just hyped.

This is one of those games you can just play, for as long as you want. I'm more of a story guy, but once a story's done it's done. I really cherish these eternal games.

*I understand man, there isn’t a really an easy answer to stuff like that. It sorta eats you up and makes you miserable no matter what. Ultimately it’s your decision to make, but know that I’m here for you bro.

The vouchers do save you money, but TBH the concept seems very poorly communicated. Plus, asking someone to just drop $100 on the spot is a bit extreme for only a 33% discount.

Why not just offer normal sales and normal offers to subscribers?

It's Nintendo.

That'd be too difficult.

Y'know what I'm thinking of doing?

Reviving Circle Simulator with a few changes, most notably the fact that instead of 50 "volunteers", it'll only have 20.

Why change the numbers? Well 50 is waaaaaaayyyy too much so by doing 20, it'll go quicker.

As a bonus, it'll be Smashboards users only. Just to see who everyone votes for.

That's all. I'll probably set it up around 9 p.m. est.

Yeah I'm playing Smash 4 and there's nothing you can do to stop me!

fr for some reason I feel like I should 100% complete Smash 4 and that's what I'll do.

So like Bayo 2, TWEWY 2, Octopath, and DQBuilders seem to be the most noteworthy non-Nintendo games included as part of the voucher deal...

Unless you're into like... GO vacation or Sushi Strikers.

imagine being the dude who buys a voucher to get 1-2 switch and fitness boxing
The even funnier thing is, since both of those games are 49.99 USD, it doesn’t even save you any money. :p I guess it could save you money if you happen to get more Gold Points from that than from buying them separately, but I’d imagine you’d get fewer Gold Points personally.

It's actually more of a (roughly) 17% off discount overall, so while it does save a decent amount it's not a crazy bargain.

I said 33% because I was comparing it to "buy one get one free deals".
