Hey, would this count as our first Marvel rep? ‘Cause I remember reading that he was created for the sole purpose of being in MVC.
Regardless, if real, then welcome! If fake, props to the evil genius behind this, it looks shockingly good.

And I typed too soon, what are the odds...

He was designed by Capcom though, he was also meant to have his own game before, but it got cancelled I think.

Super rushed and super bad, but here ya go:

Original size plus a slightly scaled up one.

I might clean it up later if I still feel like messing with it (biggest issue here is that he needs a different hat for each perspective) but this is what I got for right now.
looks evil...so you did good

“You hate it? But I like it!”

Lol, I’m just kidding, here’s my reasons:

-No K.Rool
-No Ridley
-Snake, Wolf, Icies, and Trainer/Squirtle/Ivysaur were gone.
-Heavy focus on FE causing it’s line-up to get bloated. (Lucina, Robin, Corrin)
-True clones were brought back. (Doc, Pitoo, Lucina)
-I also used to hate Rosalina, Greninja, and Wii Fit Trainer to due them “stealing more deserved slots” from Dixie, Bandana Dee, Krystal etc.
-Bayonetta “won” the Ballot over more popularly speculated characters like Shovel Knight.
-A more heavy emphasis on “anime” newcomers and less cartoony ones

Yeah, it was a mess and I’m sure most people felt the same way at the time.
Well, I can see why you were disapointed...

I, on the other hand thought it was pretty great. It focused less on basic fan requested picks, and instead, gave us surprising fighters with very unique playstyles and feels. I'm one of those people who prioritize moveset potential, over "He's a fan favorite, so he should get in", and I'm usually fine with any character, as long as they have a unique playstyle. Because at the end of the day, a fun character is better than a boring character.

What if Sakurai gave us the desk from Smash 64's intro as a stage? With all of the items on it, and if you zoom out, the entire room is visible for viewing, like a more present Living Room. I would make sure that stage becomes legal for tournaments.

The visuals can take either a Saffron City route, for the nostalgia, or updated visuals for a clean look. Might as well let us switch between those if that happened.

Please let this post age well.

There's no such thing as a boring character.
Everyone has fun with different things.
I prefer the characters I actually like get in beyond simple functions.

And what if characters playing it looked like Smash 64 characters? That would be neat!

Crazy thought occured to me. IF MK11 pulls a soul calibur 2 and each version has a version mascot-esque exclusive who do you think theyd be? We had kratos in MK9 so its not out of the question.

aesthetics matter more when you're looking at it all the time. If the whole cast was mii with different moves it'd be terrible.

What?
It is an actual ad for the game.
How is it not 100%?
An apparent ad for the game that according to the people spreading it had said was apparently mistakenly put out and gone before anyone could actually verify it. Tmk the only confirmation that the ad itself existed is from those people with those screenshots. Given what has gone on with just this speculation cycle here I think it would be easy to see why it would be best to approach a "here's this thing that confirms a character the community is super fired up over atm is in but I have no way to prove that these screens are legit in any way" situation with some skepticism.

This. I'd imagine it'd be a repeat of Shovel knight, with the other consoles getting Exclusives, and Nintendo not really getting anything special. They don't have any sort of first party or exclusive franchise to my knowledge who'd fit in something like MK. The excessive gore and the fatalities would prevent them from wanting to lend any first parties, and some of the other exclusives, like Bayonetta, don't have that kind of self-induced gore. They'd be able to shatter other character's skulls and cause a gorey explosion, but the same thing can happen to them too, and that's what would probably prevent Nintendo from getting anything special. They're still too family oriented in the gorey explosive mess department.
Literally the only character I can think of who'd fit in is Ridley, because they'd replace human blood with his green alien blood, but I'm not sure if they'd let him partake it something that gorey.

also, i know, i buzzkill this x2.

Does Joker have anyone who would work as his echo fighter? I'm doing a "give every character an echo fighter" roster, and he's the one that's giving me the most trouble. It doesn't matter if they're from a different series.

This.

Creativity is important but if they focus too much on unexpected/less popular choices just for the sake of being unique instead of putting in people’s favorite characters that they want to play as, it’ll get a little tiresome especially if that creative character just ends up too gimmicky and ironically even more boring.

“Boring” fan requests don’t even have to be a bad thing, just because their moveset is predictable and doesn’t wow you for 5 minutes shouldn’t mean there isn’t a way of enjoying them.

I mean heck, :ultkrool:‘s official moveset comes from 90% of the fan-made movesets that people thought up for him and ended up exactly how we imagined, but he still has a lot of mains and is popular with many players, even something simple can be great too.

While it's nice if they also do cool things, I definitely care more about who a character IS than what a character DOES.

Ain’t dissing on Sakurai’s creative characters btw, as someone who was furious at :ultpiranha:‘s initial reveal and hated him, I’m actually getting excited for his release date and wanting to try it out.

Plus, unique movesets aren’t really everything considering :ultwiifittrainer: is still pretty mediocre unless any mains of her say otherwise.

K.Rool really isn't a good argument as his moveset isn't built around a cohesive gameplan which makes him very awkward just so you know

I'm glad people liked the sprite. Many thanks for the compliments. Pixel art is a hobby of mine and something I always seek to improve in. :)

On the topic of function over who a character is, I definitely lean more towards who it is rather than what they do. If I don't like the character to begin with, odds are I probably won't be swayed. Simon and Incineroar are the only two characters I can think of in Smash history besides DHD I went from disliking to liking.

Honestly I feel that wanting characters for only one extreme or the other is kind of silly. Like it doesn't matter how much I want Krystal in the game if I get her and she just isn't fun to play at all. Likewise a character being fun to play can end up being soured due to it being a character you just don't care for. Like Roy is super fun for me to play but I tend to dislike him as a character so it makes it less satisfying to use him from my perspective.

Though honestly Im not sure I would say K. Rools moveset is simplistic. It's a very unique moveset. Outside the counter which still has its own unique things his crown toss functions in a unique way, his recovery is considered super strong for a heavy and gives him lots of control with a hitbox on top, his neutral special has several different ways it could be used in unique fashion, even his normals have several where he gets armor on them that can crack and break, giving him a unique risk/reward mechanic built in. Heck even his forward and back airs function in seemingly backwards way compared to most other characters. K.Rool is quite unique.

TBH I'm not sure what my deal was with Wrestle Kitty last year, lol. I remember feeling pretty neutral (if not only slightly disappointed) with him back when he was revealed for SuMo, but I didn't hate him. Guess it was just one of those weird things.

I like him now, though. He's fun, and I like cats, so it's all good.

The Blunderbuss has to be one of my favorite neutral Bs to use in the game it's such as cool pressure tool.
