I wanna see the Smashboards horror movie.

It makes sense, really. Smashboards IS pretty scary. Wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood adapts it.

Oh god. What were they thinking?
Oh god. This is just..... I don’t even know any mo
I feel that I should provide some context.

Back in the 90s, Capcom had gotten some test audiences for Ruby-Spears' more faithful anime-style promo of Mega Man (a small bit of it is in the show's opening credits). Kids didn't really care about that (since anime wasn't mainstream yet), so the decision was made to Americanise everything (which, as a consequence, led to the planned Japanese culture lesson OVA specials to be standalone and divorced from it all). Since it was so different at that point, there was no other choice than to do creative liberties, like making Proto Man a de facto villain since Mega Man didn't have a dedicated rival yet.

Still, despite the silly result of the show (not helped by some episode writers clearly doing whatever the hell they wanted), they sneaked some nods here and there, like Dark Man, the Battontons being name-dropped and a kid in one episode doing Inafune's signature hand sign for his Robot Master drawings. So at least they acknowledged the games when possible.

Yet it was still more faithful than Fully Charged.

Think of it more as a stall. You're gonna pass me eventually, so I wanna bask in the sunlight for as long as I can.
On the topic of Cartoon Proto Man:

How are we talking about the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon and not bringing up Pharaoh Man?

Honestly, if they’re gonna make it really different, then I’d rather see them go all out like Fully Charged rather than the ruby spears half of one half of the other type thing.

I for one love seeing drastically different interpretations of the same characters and worlds.

When I say “what we’re they thinking” I’m more so talking about how I don’t like those lines or think they’re very funny.

I'm gonna vent out for a second because I'm disgruntled with the current state of speculation. I'm getting real sick and tired of this Steve vs Banjo war. This dumb slapfight turned speculation into identity politics. You're either pro-banjo or pro-steve, you can't like both and take a neutral side. Screw this "us vs them" mentality that has been spreading in the Smash community.

Something I've noticed is that it feels like some people start associating their most wanted with themselves as a person, so any argument against that character is an argument against them, and that character getting disconfirmed is an insult towards them.
