I'm gonna vent out for a second because I'm disgruntled with the current state of speculation. I'm getting real sick and tired of this Steve vs Banjo war. This dumb slapfight turned speculation into identity politics. You're either pro-banjo or pro-steve, you can't like both and take a neutral side. Screw this "us vs them" mentality that has been spreading in the Smash community.

Something I've noticed is that it feels like some people start associating their most wanted with themselves as a person, so any argument against that character is an argument against them, and that character getting disconfirmed is an insult towards them.

It's completely dumb and childish. There was a line that was clearly crossed and we haven't realized it. This is just a children's party game, why is there so much hostility and hatred?

It's been boring for me too. Probably because speculation has became 3rd Party only, and I don't care about the grand majority of them (and the ones I do care about have no chance).

I suffered from that mindset a lot with Smash 4 and Ultimate's prerelease and I completely agree that it's extremely unhealthy.

It's just a video game. Nothin' to get worked up over.
