"X has more moveset potential than Y" is a pretty pointless argument 90% of the time, considering most Smash characters has equal amount of moves and we have full movesets for PP, WFT, R.O.B. etc.

Unfortunately, I can't represent SMT as a franchise without looking like a Satanic Cultist so...

I, the innocent wholesome user, literally confessed to thirsting over video game characters and nobody made a post comprised of a single reaction image that garnered likes in the double digits.

Steve's moveset potential is literally limitless, due to the sheer amount of tools he has at his disposal.

However, all of it is extremely utilitarian and meant to fulfill a specific purpose in the same way Villager's does. The issue then is that Steve doesn't have any animations to draw from, he only has one animation where he interacts and that's applied universally across everything he does.

See that's my issue with Steve. He's not meant to represent a character, he's just a temporary stand-in until the player character replaces him with something that more fits their personality. Steve quite literally has no personality beyond a vague 8x9 pixelated face and there's nothing to convey about his personality through his actions. He's just... there.

Hell, even Master Chief, a stoic soldier type, could probably show more personality than Steve could.

Mm, no need to bring Banjo into this but if we are; Banjo has just as much move set potential as Steve. If not more.

I don't dislike Steve, I just think he's an ugly character to look at. If he were in then fine, I'm all for it, but his aesthetic only fits within his specific world. And that's fine. I just don't like how he looks. Just a personal preference.

I literally feel the exact same way about Banjo that you do about Steve.

I'm sure he's just fine and would be just fine being in, but. . .MAN. Rare character designs are just not for me. King K. Rool got upgraded by magnitudes in my eyes by Sakurai taking a sheet of sandpaper to the Rare style, but you just can't do that with Banjo. He's too far in.

Does it matter one having one? I'm not even a Banjo fan and even I can easily see how they can have all the necessary Smash inputs. Some characters like Ryu, Bayonetta or Joker has more, but there's no need for that.

A better arguent would be Steve's said potential moveset being more interesting than Banjo, but even then, you're talking about subjectivities and hypotheticals.

And the Xbox Avatars can do more than both... but I'd still rather have Banjo. I'd even take Steve over them. But like Noipoi said, the issue wasn't with who had more anyway.

And like osby said, it doesn't really matter, all characters are confined to generally the same amount of attacks, and neither Steve nor Banjo are lacking for the requisite amount.

Agreed. Funny enough, I think Kazooie has a pretty good design if you give her a proper model.

So I had the idea for Banjo-Kazooie to have a side special that works similarly to , as in its the Beak Barge (aka the + move in his game) and in midair it turns into the Beak Bomb move (the move while Kazooie is flying). Do you guys think that could work?

I never really got those kind of games, and I wish I changed my mind earlier.
The only two games that define me are Minecraft and Smash Bros. ( Define means play the most. I play a lot of games, just not get addicted to them. )

Regarding Banjo design, I feel that the Nuts and Bolts design was a step in the right direction and would be good if it was less blocky but I feel I mentioned this before. (The eyes on both models are uncanny valley for me, Banjo really needs a redesign)

Yeah, that's understandable. Even still I feel like Steve is just... odd. Like, his blockiness would just make me feel like an unfinished hit box model was accidentally added to the game. His blocks nature can't be changed either. With Banjo I feel like you could, at the very least, meld him to be more in line with a Fox or a Lucario. Steve is just... very square.

I wouldn't say that. If anything Steve and Banjo are about on even ground. The Smashboards hivemind might tell you differently but we really can't tell if either is any more likely than the other.

I did not see that but now that I have I can definitely say I prefer that one it's really nice.

Though my first choice would be something like this I like the minimalistic look of it and while it's a JoJo reference it's something that I would wear out in public and feel comfortable doing, Much like the second shirt you showed.
