The Smart Guy is obviously Ashley, the one studying Magic. Skull Kid's not particularly intelligent.

I'd say Takamaru and Isaac would be the Hero and the Lancer.

I want to say, "Waluigi is the Big Guy and Lyn is the Heart", but it's funnier to say "Waluigi is the Heart of the Group".

As the Sixth Ranger, Skull Kid is the villain character who reforms and joins the heroes side.

oh okay I actually skimmed a bit 'cause long text, Smart Guy just seemed like Skull Kid because he seems sorta smart due to being a trickster...which that text mentions.

Also I've been thinking this for months especially after the November Direct but the only way I can see Smash 6/a future Smash game topping Ultimate is if Sakurai tried to bring in most of the highly fan requested Characters. Sakurai did do a very well Job this go but if they want to top it I expect them to try and make most of the Characters fan favorites. Bring in Banjo, Geno, Isaac, Skull Kid, Waluigi, Etc.

I know, I was fixing it by putting in Fav-Favorites and not a 1st party only lineup though I guess if it was 1st party only that would raise Isaac's chances wouldn't it? if y'know Assists are able to be upgraded.

Edit: I do agree with Skull Kid though, I should've put my boy Skull kid instead of Dixie and with BD I see him as more of a Promotional pick/Nintendo pick instead of Fan Favorite. He has a lot of fans even inside of the Smash Community itself but BD just fits as a Nintendo Pick more than a Fan-Fav in my opinion. My thoughts are if there's a Popular character that's also very relevant then they're a Nintendo Pick.

I think it’s fair to say that no fighter is too overpowered or underpowered

Uh....

Look, I know this is based off of online "data".

But I can't agree w/ this statement here Sakurai.

It's not super polarizing, but some characters are much better than others.

Not to mention the "data" you're using has a billion different rulesets within it. Even if you do end up in a 1 v 1 there are still things to factor in like stocks, time, and items.

Data taken from a variety of game types isn't good when you're trying to make a general statement.

All I'm saying is that before him it was Ghirahim, and before Ghirahim it was Midna; Skull Kid wasn't speculated about or requested at all until loz18 threw his name out.

I'm actually kind of surprised his popularity has lasted this long.

Still waiting for that picture of Mach Rider riding Skull Kid btw.

I imagine Ultimate's main theme as "Everyone is here" not Adding most of the fan wanted characters, Like I said Sakurai did good with adding Fan Favorite Characters this time around like K. Rool, Ridley and Depending on who you ask Simon. That's pretty good but as I said I think the only way to top Ultimate for now is to add the 3rd Party fan favorites and other Fan Favorites. That's just me.

That would shatter so many hearts if that turns out to be true.

Would then have to add Skull Kid to the list alongside Alucard, Decidueye, Rex and Spring Man. I still too believe Monster Hunter was considered as well given Rathalos.

He started as a bandwagon pick, but I think he'll last and become actually popular. His fanbase would've died if it was just a bandwagon, but he still has one. Somewhat like the Chorus Kids.

I hope Machy becomes like that cause I Genuinely think Mach Rider is the most interesting Retro Rep yet to be put in Smash. Which is why I was hyped for him when that certain leak was still relevant.
