Yeah and people said that about Pirahna Plant too.Would be hilarious though...
Chances of actually occurring: -50%
If I weren't such a Resident Evil fanboy, I'd be in the "Nintendo first" group. While outsiders are intriguing because of the seeming randomness and the appeal of including them in a game we never imagined they'd be in, there's also something to be said about Smash being a Nintendo game made for Nintendo fans. By putting their fingers into a bunch of other pies, there's a high chance that few or none of the DLC selections would interest someone who bought into Smash Bros. for the Nintendo icons.I'd just like one of the DLC newcomers to be Tetra. Maybe Bandana Dee.
Because honestly most of these third-party characters people seem to be set on don't interest me at all. I'm entirely neutral on them, at best. Except for Banjo Kazooie, who I'd rather like to see in for the sake of their many, longtime loyal fans.
Imagine this in a mini direct. That be pretty wildWatch that without any announcement there's we get a direct out of nowhere tomorrow among those being Joker gameplay and next DLC character reveal. Wouldn't that be something?
Pretty much everyone that's shown to have legit info in the past says Erdrick is in, and data mining leans heavily towards his inclusion since the "Brave" codename logically links to him.Can someone please give me a quick rundown of why Erdrick is apparently nigh-guaranteed at this point?
I haven't been in any position to argue in or against his favor, nor have I been interested in partaking in the arguments. I'm just curious at this point as to what information has put the character in this light.
I don’t get this Nintendo first mantra when like 80% of the roster is Nintendo. If I weren't such a Resident Evil fanboy, I'd be in the "Nintendo first" group. I liken it to Netherrealm not once, not twice, but three times filling a DLC slot in their Injustice games with Mortal Kombat characters. Then filling DLC spots in their Mortal Kombat games with five horror movie icons. Like... I bought Injustice to play as DC characters. I bought Mortal Kombat to play as Mortal Kombat characters. Why the **** are you spending time on this other ****?
I don't know. I was playing along.Should I know? I don't really have context for Tots' post.
I thought you were talking about a general direct, in terms of a smash direct I definitely agree with you. That being said, it is possible they won't bother with a direct and just drop the update like they did with piranha plant.I think it's almost inevitable, or if not a Direct then some sort of Smash "Presentation".
It's not like Nintendo's never done Directs in April before, so I legit think we're just waiting on Atlus since, Jane.
I think the difference between Erdrick and Chorus Kids is how many people are backing Erdrick. The only thing supporting Chorus Kids was gematsu, a static list of characters, meanwhile Erdrick has pretty much every insider with constantly updating info on his side.Erdrick could be guaranteed, like Ken and Incineroar.
Or he could be guaranteed, like Chorus Kids and Chrom were in Smash 4.
Until an official confirmation, or an absolutely indisputable leak like the ESRB one, it's never a good idea to be 100% sure on a character's chances. Never.
even piranha plant had a trailer before his releaseI thought you were talking about a general direct, in terms of a smash direct I definitely agree with you. That being said, it is possible they won't bother with a direct and just drop the update like they did with piranha plant.
well tbh besides like dixie, toad, waluigi, maybe isaac, and probably some characters i've forgotten to list there really aren't many huge hypebringing first party characters leftIf I weren't such a Resident Evil fanboy, I'd be in the "Nintendo first" group. True. I'm probably wrong.even piranha plant had a trailer before his release
i just can't envision any scenario in which they don't at the very least show off how joker plays before he comes out, not to mention all the new stuff coming with 3.0.0
TBH, the biggest reasons I even became interested in Mortal Kombat 10, Injustice 2, and Tekken 7 was because of the guest characters. MKXL had the horror movie icons which were ****ing dope. Made Texas Chainsaw Massacre worth wasting my time on. Injustice 2 had the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES *GUITARS* TURTLES COUNT IT OFF. Tekken 7 had ****ing Walking Dead for some reason and I loved it. Best part about it.Then filling DLC spots in their Mortal Kombat games with five horror movie icons. Like... Homerun Contest is in 4.0Honestly, just get me to E3.
By then, we'll know and have Brave playable and they'll have dropped their big bombshell DLC reveal. 3.0's going to be a nice patch, but June's 4.0 is going to be where things get spicy.
Good night!Alright guys, getting late here, so as always, I wish you all a great time here and see ya next time!

Me, it's bed time....=w=
I am not weak.I'm looking at the thread and I can't help but imagine this.
Shiny you keep giving me material to work with.Good night!
I am not weak.
What about a monster hunter? Rathalos is already there, and monster hunter was on nintendo for ages.In terms of capcom reps.
I honestly not sure who gets in first. Re rep or Pheonix.
Ace Attorney is a pretty big focused Nintendo title that’s pretty popular.
RE has the wider appeal though and redefined the horror genre making a rep here pretty likely.
Personally I’d down for both happening.
In terms of who the Re rep would be, I think Leon would probably get in with maybe a Clair echo or alt. If not she would appear somewhere likely.
the best and worst part of sonic forces is how the big bad guy is only big and bad because shadow beat him up and called him uglyShiny you keep giving me material to work with.
At the very latest, we're getting Joker before the month ends. No doubt he'll come soon after a April 25th direct.if they do hold a direct as late as the 25th, i think joker being avaliable after the presentation and erdrick being announced as 'coming soon' is a reasonable expectation
It is pretty exciting to know that characters 4 and 5 are a complete mystery. We've heard things about Erdrick and Banjo but beyond thatHonestly, just get me to E3.
By then, we'll know and have Brave playable and they'll have dropped their big bombshell DLC reveal. 3.0's going to be a nice patch, but June's 4.0 is going to be where things get spicy.
I am going to miss you, buddy.Shiny you keep giving me material to work with.
Wait, hold up! I didn't say he isn't in. I'm like 90% sure he is.I'm looking at the thread and I can't help but imagine this.
That's what I'm banking on.if they do hold a direct as late as the 25th, i think joker being avaliable after the presentation and erdrick being announced as 'coming soon' is a reasonable expectation
It's because if you concentrate your DLC selections around Nintendo, there's a higher chance of people already invested in the game liking them, as it is, first and foremost, a Nintendo game with Nintendo characters. By expanding out and drawing from a number of different sources, the chances grow higher and higher for someone to not be interested in any of the characters. The appeal of being an "outsider" is a double edged sword.I don’t get this Nintendo first mantra when like 80% of the roster is Nintendo.
Shiny's gonna be gloating during the direct about how Erdrick is not going to be in only for:I am going to miss you, buddy.
I think he’s possible but unlikely. Considering the love we saw them give the series yet it didn’t have a playable rep, I feel like capcom or Nintendo are content with this and felt they didn’t need to use a playable character to rep the franchiseWhat about a monster hunter? Rathalos is already there, and monster hunter was on nintendo for ages.
I'm saying Banjo because I'm convinced that Brave will be shown off in April and released during E3, while Banjo will be the BIG reveal that generates hype. Now the question is.
Who’s gonna be the big E3 reveal?
My top picks would be:
Leon, Sub Zero, Banjo and maybe Crash or Rayman
I just saw counterargument and I needed someone to replace Yukiko.Wait, hold up! I didn't say he isn't in. I'm like 90% sure he is.
Why am I on here?
What's the H stand for?Wait, hold up! I didn't say he isn't in. I'm like 90% sure he is.
Why am I on here?
hold your horses there busterI am going to miss you, buddy.
Out of my choices, I think banjo probably has the highest chance. It works so well for the character and would be a pretty logical reveal time if he’s in.I'm saying Banjo because I'm convinced that Brave will be shown off in April and released during E3, while Banjo will be the BIG reveal that generates hype.
